2000 Porsche 911 on 2040-cars
Phoenix, Arizona, United States
You are looking at this very nice and extremely well maintained Porsche Carrera 996 Model. I have had and enjoyed this car for 4 years now, and with some house renovations, business changes and other life changes, the third car must go. Oil changes has always been done at about 4,000 KM and has never endured any harsh driving such as burnouts or donuts nor has it been driven in any reckless manner. Always garage kept for the winter and on rainy days.
Brand New tires with less than 500 KM on them, I had ordered these tires in June and had them in storage until I installed them last week.
BRAND NEW OEM Mags from Porsche that cost me over $4,000 last year. I changed them because I did not like the look of the 2000 OEM Porsche wheels... these wheels are from the 2004 model and make the car look so much better !
Water Pump, Thermostat and all belts has been changed before winter storage last year.
Oil / Air Separator (Big Job on these models) has been done from Porsche dealership last year.
** K&N Air Intake system (Not COLD AIR)
Sun Roof
** The only thing this car needs is a MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor) which can be bought online for about $250 or from a dealer for $750. I noticed this issue when an oil change was done last week before brigning it for winter storage and the mechanic told me about it. MAF for this model can be bought for $250 online.
Porsche 911 Carrera Arctic Silver over blue full leather interior.
This Porsche is loaded with all the very desirable factory options including: Full Leather interior (don't even consider to own a 996 without the full leather option. without it the door panels and dash look like they were taken from a Kia.)
Litronic headlights (what Porsche calls their self leveling HID/xenon headlamp. It costs about $2,000 to add these to most of the 996s that were not optioned with them)

Mysterious Porsche 911 Cabriolet spied, could be GTS
Mon, 10 Mar 2014While Porsche's designers can jokingly be accused of being some of the laziest in the industry due to the incremental changes to the 911's iconic design, no such charge can be leveled against the engineers and product planning folks. That's because it seems like each week arrives with news of a new variation of the marque's iconic rear-engined sports car. So, for this week, we've brought you images of what we think is the new 911 GTS Cabriolet, undergoing testing in a thawing winter wonderland.
Now, what is it that gives this 911 away, compared to standard convertible? Well, the big thing is the new offset, center-mounted exhausts. Borrowing a page from the last Volkswagen R32, these exhaust tips are unlike anything we've seen from Porsche. Only the GT3 wears center pipes, and unlike these spy photos, the twin pipes on the track-minded 911 are stacked neatly alongside each other. The other change spotted by our spies is the set of active-aerodynamic flaps in the front bumper, which can automatically channel air toward the brakes for increased cooling, or close off to reduce drag, as needed.
Those exhausts are a pretty big design detail, and so far as we can tell is the only differentiator between the other 911s in this car's posse. Our spies speculate that this could be a 911 Speedster, but point out that both the canvas roof and windshield remain unchanged - the rumored Speedster model would almost certainly feature a different roof assembly along with a steeply raked windshield.
Conquest and controversy conclude the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona [spoilers]
Sun, 26 Jan 2014If you don't wish to know who won the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona, you should avert your eyes right now. We'll even give you a double-space to skedaddle...
For those of you still with us, the first race in the United SportsCar Championship (USCC) is done, but the discussions about it certainly won't end for a while. Daytona Prototypes claimed the first four overall places, the top spot taken by the No. 5 Action Express Coyote-Chevrolet Corvette DP driven by Joao Barbosa, Christian Fittipaldi, Sebastien Bourdain and Burt Friselle. The 16th and final caution of the race bunched the field up for an eight-minute sprint to the flag, so the first place getter finished just 1.4 seconds ahead of the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Dallara-Chevrolet Corvette DP driven by Max Angelelli. Third place went to Brian Friselle in the No. 9 Action Express Chevrolet Corvette DP, 20 seconds down. Chevrolet power hasn't taken the overall win since 2003, eleven years later it scores a one-two-three-four. The No. 6 Muscle Milk/Pickett Racing ORECA-Nissan 03 scored fifth place, the top LMP2 finisher.
The Prototype Challenge class win went to the No. 54 CORE Autosport team of Colin Braun, Jon Bennett, Mark Wilkins and James Gue.
Petrolicious explores long-term living with Porsche's 914/6
Thu, 15 May 2014After its last video starred none other than the spectacular Ferrari 250 GTO, where was there for the video team at Petrolicious to go? Certainly, in the realm of classics, there are only a few other vehicles that can match the badge and pedigree of the ultra-rare Ferrari. Maybe a Jaguar D-Type or an Aston Martin DBR1? No, this latest video doesn't star either of those British icons. It stars an oft-misunderstood, occasionally derided entry from Germany's most sporting manufacturer - Porsche.
Yes, we've gone from a Ferrari 250 GTO to a Porsche 914/6. As is often the case with Petrolicious, though, the story told about the car by its owner are often more important than the make or model of car being highlighted. That's exactly the case here, as Jack Griffin talks about the 38 years he's spent with this particular Porsche.
Having been born into the Volkswagen fold and introduced to Porsche in the best way possible - behind the wheel of a 356 - Griffin has some interesting stories (including his attempt at running the 12 Hours of Sebring), and he knows a fair bit about some of the 914's attributes.
