A very clean, adult owned and driven 911 with only slight modifications. Standard exhaust has been changed to a Fabspeed stainless system to eliminate the Porsche high pitched sewing machine exhaust tone. The heat and air conditioning controls have been moved to accommodate a Kenwood Navigation system with voice/Bluetooth/HD Radio/Video/iPod which looks built in. The clutch has just been replaced, as have the tires. The car has been serviced regularly and has no mechanical problems. I can put you in touch with my mechanic for reference.

It was involved in a very minor stoplight accident with under 2K damage, mostly because I wanted anything even vaguely damaged replaced to be sure everything is fine. There are a couple of minor scratches and dents. There are no side bumpers on Porsches so if you drive them at all, you'll get these. There are pictures of the two, which don't even show up well in the pictures. The lever to open the trunk on the driver's side door sill also has some scratches from getting into and out of the car. It has an especially made umbrella fitted into the passenger side door sill. Door sills are stainless steel, another option.
I am the second owner. Traded in a Boxster S for this 911 because I didn't fit in the Boxster. But I rarely drive this car and my wife won't drive a 6 speed so we're selling to get an automatic "something" that she can drive when the need arises. It is what she calls a "sunday car". It has been rained on twice since I've owned it. It has not seen snow or salt. Mostly it lives in a garage.
The removable hardtop gives you kind of coupe/convertible versatility. I have the top on a cradle that is attached to the roof of my garage (the cradle will go with the car). In the winter or hot summer, The top goes on, which makes it quieter. It is two levers and an front latch, about a ten minute job, easy to do with the cradle, but you'd need two people without it.
The car has actually been much more reliable then I thought it would be. This is a 996 if you're into Porsches, the first year the water cooled flavor was imported into the United States, the second year of this model. We moved and I'm still looking for the original window sticker but a dealer can pull it up from the VIN. This car was $86,000 new.
I will insist on a cashier's check that is verified by my bank in advance, so save any games. I want this to go to a good home. I have the title and it has no liens. I am interested in a cash sale only, no trades or financing.
Please let me know if you would like any information I have not included.

Chevy Corvette Stingray defeating rivals where it matters most

Wed, 16 Jul 2014

Everything is coming up roses for the award-winning Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, as new data from the North American Dealers Association dissected by GM Authority reveals that America's sports car is handily outselling two of its more expensive rivals.
Through June of 2014, the NADA notes that the Corvette has rung up 17,744 sales, handily besting the Porsche 911 and positively spanking the SRT Viper. Of course, you're sitting there thinking, "Corvette is outselling the much more expensive Porsche and Viper. Sky blue, water wet." But what's impressive here is just how thoroughly the Chevrolet is beating its two rivals, with this data serving as a testament to just how popular the seventh-generation sports car has become.
So far this year, Porsche has managed to move 5,169 911s, according to NADA. Considering that the base model starts at nearly $15,000 more than the most heavily optioned Stingray, and that Porsche owners have a vast, expensive options catalogue to select from, Stuttgart's sales are still plenty impressive in relation to the nearly 18,000 Corvettes sold.

6 car mashups that God never intended

Sat, May 17 2014

In the 2000s, the musical mashup genre saw a peak of popularity with releases like The Grey Album from Danger Mouse that mixed The Beatles and Jay-Z. UK artist James Pursey from Carwow decided to take the same concept of shoehorning two disparate things together but applied the concept to cars. Your opinion on the results will vary with your sense of humor. These creations are either some funny pieces of abstract art or absolute monstrosities that prove good design should be left alone. Likely the best of the bunch is the Lambotomic (pictured above), which combines a Lamborghini Miura and an Ariel Atom. Granted, the Ariel is little more than a skeleton to begin with, and the outcome looks like a slightly stretched Atom with the new nose and tail from one of the most beautiful vehicles ever. This could actually work. Though, not all of the mashups are quite so pleasant. The Porschiac WW RS (pictured right) is absolutely disgusting. It combines a Pontiac Aztek, which isn't a beauty queen to start with, and a Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Obviously, the 911 is an iconic shape in autonobolia, but that can't save it from the horror of the Aztek. Pursey fits the its nose, wheel, wing, roll cage and stripes onto the Pontiac. The outcome: A design that will show up in your nightmares. Check out the gallery for the rest of the mashups, including the Humi (a Humvee and a Mini), Aston Smartin (Aston Martin and Smart), Rangerini (Range Rover and Lamborghini Aventador) and the Mazdafenda (Mazda MX-5 Miata and Land Rover Defender). They might not all be beautiful (or even pretty), but it's fun to imagine these oddball creations actually driving down the road. Porsche 911 already testing next refresh

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

The latest Porsche 911 may still be a newer car, but that hasn't stopped the German company from starting development of a facelifted version of the rear-engined sports car, testing in what looks like southern Europe.
Due to hit the market in 2015, our spies think what we're seeing here is the new GTS variant, which, following the evolution of the last-generation 911, will make its debut on the facelifted car. Featuring the wider rear haunches of the all-wheel-drive Carrera 4, the GTS should enjoy a slight power boost, to 408 ponies.
Aesthetically, there are some additional vents in the rear bodywork, along with a revised front bumper and tweaked day-time running lights. The taillights get some attention as well, and will likely grow over the current car's skinny rear lamps.
