I'm regretfully  selling my stunning 1999 996 Carrera 4. I'll say that I had no intention of selling it when purchased, but my 6 year old son is attending a special Autism school, which is alarmingly expensive. It's a sacrifice ,but my children come 1st.
I purchased this wonderful 911  from a private owner a year and a half ago and have clear title in hand.  I received all service records for the car including replacement of clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, throwout bearing, and rear main seal. The IMS was removed, and inspected showing no wear.  The car has brand new 18" Continental DWS tires and all new drilled rotors and pads at the same time.   The car has been garaged and shows it.  The interior is in wonderful shape with the seats having been conditioned for many years.  The paint and body is beautiful, shiny always turns heads wherever it goes.  Noone ever believes me when I tell them its a 1999.
The car runs FLAWLESSLY and garners attention everywhere I go.  The 6 speed gear box is so buttery and easy to shift quickly. This gorgeous car is just exceptional whether the road surface is optimal or not. Very Confidence inspiring.  I love the AWD and the brakes are astonishing.  I purchased it with 58,000 and it now has just under 74,000. We've driven this on our 700 mile yearly roadtrip twice without a peep from the car or the kids (6&3). Ive driver 2 summers with ice cold AC and wonderful "full leather" heated seats in the colder months.  The car was never driven in the snow, though they are legendary for their all weather capabilities.
The car features virtually every option including power"metal" sunroof, 6 disk changer, and PSM.
Upon reaching 75 MPH the rear spoiler deploys, that is unless you press the manual switch in which case you can raise and lower it at your leisure.
The car has been incredibly reliable and I would not hesitate to drive it cross country Today. Fly into Indianapolis and drive it home.  I am willing to work with the buyer to help arrange shipping OR my possible personal delivery (airfare and fuel?) of the car to your home on an individual basis, after financial matters of coarse.
I'm certain You will love my 911 as I have, and again I hate to sell it. Alas the money is just of better use to my family right now.
Owning it has been a Spectacular experience, which we will always remember.
Please feel free to ask questions.
Good Luck and Happy Bidding !   :)

The 2014 Ruf RCT offers rear-drive action with 911 Turbo fun

Wed, 05 Mar 2014

Ruf has 37 years of experience of turning Porsches into even higher performance machines. For the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, it's unveiling the RCT, or Ruf Carrera Turbo, which offers power to split the difference between Porsche's 911 Turbo and Turbo S models.
The RCT starts with a unique body kit with a new front air dam and drastically changed rear deck that combines both a small spoiler and air intake. Power is provided by a twin-turbocharged, 3.8-liter flat-six with 525 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque paired to either a seven-speed manual or seven-speed dual clutch transmission. That gives the Ruf a 5-hp and 15-lb-ft advantage over Porsche's own Turbo but is still less powerful than the full Turbo S. The RCT sprints to 62 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds and to a top speed of 196 mph.
However, the Ruf's big advantage is that it offers buyers the choice of either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, while Stuttgart's turbo models are only available spinning all four wheels. The RCT can also offers upgrades like an integrated roll cage and custom suspension packages, should the buyer be so inclined to splash out on racing kit.

Porsche announces Cayman GT4 with 911 GT3 components

Wed, Feb 4 2015

For years, there's been a debate among Porsche fans about which of its products is a better sports car, the 911 or the Cayman. It would only take a few sentences before those in the Cayman corner said that Porsche wouldn't make the Cayman as good as it could be for fear of overshadowing The Number One Son. We have a feeling these conversations are going to get a lot livelier with the introduction of the Cayman GT4, which pilfers lightly from the 911 Carrera S and heavily from the 911 GT3. On the outside, you can look to its front fascia, wheels, and fixed rear wing, and 30-millimmeter lower ride height for GT3 inspirations. Underneath, there's a 385-horsepower, 3.8-liter flat-six engine amidships, credited as being derived from the Carrera S. While there are those out there still lamenting the fact that the GT3 can only be had with a dual-clutch transmission, the Cayman GT4 "transmits its power solely through a six-speed manual transmission with dynamic gearbox mounts." Yeah. So take that. The extra power reduces the Cayman GT4's 0-to-60 mile per hour sprint to 4.2 seconds, a half second quicker than the 340-hp Cayman GTS, and bumps top speed up to 183 mph. An interesting nugget: Porsche says the Cayman GT4 runs the Nurburgring in seven minutes and 40 seconds, which it credits as the same time run by the 2011 911 GT3. Porsche has never offered a precise time for the current 911 GT3, saying only that it's "under 7:30," and Internet rumor (grab your salt lick) is that the not-yet-introduced GT3 RS has done a 7:20. We don't have all of its details yet – those will come closer to its introduction at the Geneva Motor Show next month – but we're told of a lot more 911 GT3 parts underneath, like the chassis that "consists almost entirely of components from the 911 GT3" and that all of its "technical aspects are based on the 911 GT3." If you want to take it further, the options sheet will include ceramic brakes and carbon fiber bucket seats. This new top-shelf Cayman gets to dealerships in the US in July with a starting price of $84,600 before a $995 destination charge. You'll find a few more bits of info in the press release below. A New Member of Porsche's GT Family The benchmark in its class: the Porsche Cayman GT4 Atlanta, Feb. 3, 2015 - Porsche's GT family is proud to announce the addition of an exciting new member: the Cayman GT4. This is the first Porsche GT sports car based on the Cayman and features components of the 911 GT3.

Magnus Walker pops up again, this time with his Irish Green 911

Sun, 06 Oct 2013

He was the subject of a short film called Urban Outlaw. He has been on Jay Leno's Garage. Twice. He even graced the cover of Road & Track in June. And after all of that, he appeared in a video by Hong Kong-based Silly Thing. So it isn't really surprising that Magnus Walker is at the center of attention in the latest video from XCAR, but it's surprising - and a treat - to see his mostly original Irish Green 1966 Porsche 911.
Powered by an air-cooled 2.0-liter flat six with 130 horsepower (more like 120 hp today, Walker says), riding on 5.5-inch wide wheels and turned with a wooden steering wheel, the little green 911 does represent some of the best aspects of classic car motoring.
Head on below to watch the long-form video on Walker and his Porsche, but if your time is limited, you're not missing much if you call it quits at five minutes - especially if you've seen his aforementioned videos before.
