One owner CALIFORNIA car, driven just enough to keep it nimble with ONLY ** 5,589 miles**. Always garaged in the
perfect dry air environment of the Sacramento California area, it looks as if it just rolled off the assembly line
in Stuttgart. Combined with the most popular exterior and interior colors and equipped with the best of the best
factory options combines to make this a very rare and desirable Collector car in Porsche marque.
The Porsche 911 series 993 were built from 1995 thru 1998 and are the last of the air-cooled 911’s. The Carrera
S (C2S) built only from 1997 thru 1998 is the most highly sought after version of the Porsche 993. With the Turbo
factory wide body and the Carrera’s normally aspirated engine the C2S was a pure sports car without the
complication and weight of turbocharging and all-wheel drive. The driving experience is second to none, with great
torque, lighter weight, and Turbo handling lending itself to amazing drivability. Featuring a unique 'split'
electric spoiler, only 993 C2S’s were sold in the US in 1998 making this a very rare late model Porsche.
Most enthusiasts and collectors consider the 993 to be the best of the 911 series. As Car & Driver noted,
"Porsche's version of the Goldilocks tale is the 993-generation 911, the one many Porschephiles agree that the
company got just "right," with an "ideal blend of technology and classic 911 air-cooled heritage. As an investment,
the 1998 C2S version has proven the most desirable. With the Turbo factory wide body and the Carrera’s normally
aspirated engine the C2S was a pure sports car without the complication and weight of turbocharging and all-wheel
drive."Many find that they are the best looking 993 there is and prices have always seemed to reflect this "The
purists will want 2 wheel drive and nothing else will do. Similarly, purists will insist upon the manual
transmission over the automatic "Tiptronic" version; this is even more true in the case of the 993 as compared with
other models, because Porsche 993s were the first production model (apart from the 959 supercar) to feature a
6-speed manual transmission. The C2S wide-body 993s are in scarce supply, with none built in 1995 or 1996, and just
759 units made for North America in 1997, with a final supply of 993 in 1998, for a total of 1,752 C2S examples
overall.

Porsche suspends ties with Maria Sharapova after drug test
Tue, Mar 8 2016Porsche has reportedly suspended ties with Maria Sharapova after the Russian tennis star failed a drug test. The German automaker stopped short of terminating its relationship with the athlete altogether as it awaits the results of a deeper investigation. The issue emerged at the Australian Open, where Sharapova reportedly tested positive for use of a drug called meldonium. Manufactured in Latvia and prescribed in many former Soviet Bloc countries, meldonium is used to treat heart conditions and improve cardiac circulation. It is not approved by the FDA for use in the United States, and the World Anti-Doping Agency added it to its list of prohibited substances at the start of this year. Sharapova admitted that she's been taking the medication for ten years now but that she did not keep up to date on the WADA's list. Since it is considered a prohibited substance, she's been excluded from participating in the Australian Open this year, and suspended from competition as of March 12. She was also scheduled to take part in the Porsche Grand Prix, a tennis event sponsored by the carmaker in Stuttgart next month which she will now apparently have to miss. One of the top-rated female tennis players in the world, Sharapova has served as a brand ambassador for Porsche since 2013. Other sponsors including TAG Heuer and Nike have also reportedly suspended their relationships with the athlete pending further investigation by the International Tennis Federation. Related Video:
