1997 911 Carrera 4S.  Arctic silver with black interior, 6-speed transmission.  The car is in excellent condition and has won multiple multi-region PCA concours , scoring perfectly for interior and trunk at different times. I have a clear title in hand. The car is completely original with a few bolt-on upgrades that can be changed to original in a few hours.  The only cosmetic modifications are the rear turbo spoiler and, in the front, the turbo S ducts and clear turn signal lenses.  The car has an upgraded Fabspeed sport catalytic converter and TechArt mufflers that improve the breathing and sound.  The car passed emission testing.  If desired, I can deliver the car in original trim without the upgrades.

The car has 58,8xx miles.  The body and interior are in excellent condition, with only a few stone chips and some normal wear on driver seat bolster.   The turbo twist wheels are in excellent shape with no curb rash at all.   The clear stone shields on the rear fenders were replaced in 2013.  Oil and filters and belts were changed this year.  Everything on the car works as it should, including strong AC.

Options on the car, from the underhood sticker:

329  CR210 (upgraded to 220.  Has Porsche CD changer in trunk, Sony magazine)

437  Power seat, left

454  Cruise

650  Sunroof

659  Computer

Included with the car are the original tool kit, original OEM “C4S” and aftermarket colored-crest center caps, spare tire donut, air compressor with 2 tabs and light, lower engine tray, original manuals, all keys, cover, Lloyd’s mats, plastic bags and gloves, and bras for front end and mirrors.

I am the fourth owner and have put over 6000 miles on the car, including several long trips on which the car ran perfectly.  The third owner had the car for about 10 years.  I have maintenance records back to the original delivery from Stoddard.

The car is listed for sale locally and I reserve the right to cancel the auction.

1986 Porsche 959 Prototype at Barrett-Jackson sees gavel fall at $440,000 [UPDATE: w/video]

Sat, 19 Jan 2013

Fans of Porsche in America have longed for the chance to buy a 959 ever since the German automaker produced and sold it (well, sold it everywhere but the United States...) in the 1980s. Well, they just had their chance. The car you see above is a Porsche 959 prototype built in 1986, and only one other running prototype still exists.
The 959 prototype can't be driven on public roads, as it carries no such certification. Somehow, we doubt that matters all that much to the new buyer - this one is probably going to be sitting in a collection. When the gavel finally fell, bidding had reached $400,000, plus a 10-percent buyer's fee.
Check out our high-res image gallery above to see this prototype up close, and scroll down below to watch a video of it crossing the auction block and for its official auction description.

Dan Neil pokes fun at the celeb cars of 2014

Sun, Dec 28 2014

Look, we try really hard not to pay any attention to the Kardashians and their vapid reality TV empire. But, as troubling as that brood may be, occasionally we're impressed and/or horrified by their four-wheeled conveyances. In fact, that curiosity extends beyond talentless reality stars with rotund glutes to celebs in general. That's why we're enjoying Dan Neil's sometimes biting take on the celebrity cars of 2014. Besides paying tribute to Kim K, husband Kanye West and the adorable Lamborghini that their spawn rides about in, Neil also takes a look at LeBron James' turn as a Kia spokesman and boxer Floyd Mayweather's trio of Bugatti Veyrons. Matthew McConaughey is a focus of Neil's as well, thanks to his oft-panned advertisements for Lincoln (and the raucous parodies they inspired), before finishing on the high, with Jerry Seinfeld and his new Porsche 918 Spyder. Take a look at Neil's recap of the celebrity cars of 2014. News Source: The Wall Street Journal Celebrities Humor Bugatti Kia Lamborghini Lincoln Porsche Videos porsche 918 spyder celebrity dan neil

Force India F1 driver Nico Hulkenberg will drive a Porsche at Le Mans

Mon, Dec 1 2014

Sahara Force India Formula One driver Nico Hulkenberg is officially part of the Porsche factory team for next year's 24 Hours of Le Mans; the last time a current F1 driver got permission from his team to compete in the world's biggest endurance race was in 2009 when Toro Rosso let Sebastien Bourdais pilot for Peugeot. That will make it an even busier May and June for Hulkenberg, who will get to know the 919 Hybrid in race trim by driving the 6 Hours of Spa on May 2. He'll follow that with two F1 races in May, then do the Le Mans practice day on May 31, race for Force India at the Canadian Grand Prix on June 7, be in action for Porsche at Le Mans the next weekend, then back in a Force India the following weekend in Austria. Hulkenberg is the first driver to be named for Porsche's third LMP1 in next year's race, and we already know that former F1 colleague Mark Webber will be in one of the other cars. The other two drivers joining the German haven't been named yet, but speculation is that Porsche GT drivers in the manufacturer team are on the shortlist. Numerous observers also think it could be a suitable job for a certain Englishman who might have competed in his last race for McLaren...
