1995 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Coupe 2-door 3.6l on 2040-cars
Fort Worth, Texas, United States
You are bidding on 1995 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Coupe 993. I’ll spare all the selling verbiage on the
993 as those looking at this listing already know all about their
collectability. Mine is the original Polar
Silver with dark blue interior. The
Autocheck and CarFax are clean as I am believed to be the 3rd
owner, with the car being a Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas car since early 1998. This is an unmolested OEM car with original
paint, wheels and interior. Car has slight blemishes, a few dings and patina leather
interior you would expect to find on a near 20 year old, 113K+ miles driver. The 993 sits in my garage for weeks at a time and there is
an oil leak that I’ve noticed. There are
also some scrapes on the driver’s rear wheel that need to be cleaned up. Otherwise, car is in great driving condition. I bought this 993 early this year after learning that the elderly
gentleman owner was about to trade it in for a Mercedes. But, I hardly drive it, so I’ll see if any
other Porsche enthusiast is interested. Recent clutch and oil service but I otherwise don’t know
much about the history of the car other than it was serviced at Mayo
Performance in Euless, Texas. I do have
the original books but not much by way of service records. Inspections are welcomed & encouraged. As the car is ~ 19 years old, it is sold as
is with no warranty either expressed or implied. It has a new & current Texas inspection
and registration. Clear Texas title. Local pickup or I will assist in coordinating shipping within
the United States at Buyer’s expense. No
overseas shipping. Car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this
auction early. Email with me any serious questions. If serious buyer (not a low ball offer),
please contact me and I’ll give my
telephone number to discuss. Thanks for watching. |

Porsche 911 GT3 named Performance Car of the Year by Road & Track
Thu, 13 Nov 2014The Porsche 911 GT3 is a very, very good performance car. Yes, we know this is like saying fire is hot and a shovel to the head hurts. What's different about this proclamation, then? Well, we bring up the 911 GT3's inherent goodness because our friends at Road & Track have named it their 2015 performance car of the year.
This is, our joking aside, a big accomplishment for the 911 GT3, due largely to the field of cars it beat out. There were many equally track-focused wonders in attendance, including the Ferrari 458 Speciale, Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 and Dodge Viper SRT TA, as well as more capable everyday vehicles, like the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe, BMW M3 and Ford Mustang GT.
But it was the 475-horsepower, rear-engined track star that R&T fell for, with editor-in-chief Larry Webster calling out the Porsche's ridiculous, howling, 9,000-rpm redline, while other editors cited its phenomenal handling character.
Porsche Macan configurator lets you build $110k crossover
Mon, 25 Nov 2013Part of the idea behind the new Porsche Macan is that it's less expensive than its larger sibling, the Cayenne. But with a starting MSRP of $49,900, the base Macan S is actually $300 more expensive than the cheapest Cayenne. That, however, is just the start, as you can see from the online configurator.
As is often the case with German cars in general (Porsches especially), tick the right boxes and you'll soon be leaving that base price behind in a cloud of tire smoke. Start off with the Macan Turbo and you're looking at a base MSRP of $72,300, which is already over twenty grand more than the naturally-aspirated version. But even that soon escalates as the options pile on.
Aurum Metallic paint will set you back $3,120. 21-inch wheels, another $3,300. You'll probably want the air suspension, torque vectoring, the Sport Chrono package, adaptive cruise control and lane-change systems, and those each add over a grand to the price. A Burmester surround sound system is the single most expensive option at $4,290. And if you choose them all - and choose all the optional trim packages - you'll soon be looking at a price in excess of $110,000. That's enough to get you into a Cayenne Turbo... assuming you don't tag on all the options to that one, too.
Porsche acquires ANDIAL, will integrate with in-house motorsports
Sat, 16 Feb 2013Porsche has purchased longtime motorsports and tuning house ANDIAL.
The Fountain Valley, California-based tuning house ANDIAL has been around since 1975, when it was formed by the Arnold Wagner, Dieter Inzenhofer and Alwin Springer (the company got its name by combining two letters from each of their names). The three men met while working in a Porsche dealership in Southern California and then left to start a business that would put Porsches in victory lane all over the country.
Porsches prepared by ANDIAL won IMSA GT and Supercar Series championships, the SCCA World Challenge, four Pikes Peak class titles and the 24 Hours of Daytona six times. Alwin Springer left the company in 1997 to run Porsche Motorsport North America until 2004 and remains a consultant with PMNA, Wagner passed away in 2011 and Inzenhofer plans to retire this year. ANDIAL is still a going concern, Inzenhofer presiding over a scaled-down engine parts and restoration business. But Inzenhofer is retiring at month's end, making it a good time for Porsche to step in and take over the company's operations.
