1995 Porsche 911 on 2040-cars

This 993 is essentially a one owner car. The original owner purchased the car from Herb Chambers with 1,073 miles
on it in April of 1998. It had previously been owned by a woman in Florida. The car currently has 85,000 and the
original owner can no longer drive. I purchased the car from him and we have been through it to make sure
everything is in working order. The car has new brakes, various switches, belts, plugs, caps, rotors, battery,
other typical service parts and assorted rubber pieces that needed to be replaced. We have been over the car
completely cosmetically. It runs great and looks terrific. The original tool kit and jack are with the car although
the compressor to inflate the spare is not original. The top was replaced at one point and is in excellent
condition. The tonneau cover looks like it was never put on until now.
For some I suppose it's only drawback is that it is an automatic. That said, it gets up and goes whether the
transmission kicks down or if you use manual mode. I have put several hundred miles on it and it is a pleasure to
drive. While it looks great and I would say is much better than average for a daily driver of its age, it isn't
perfect. Although the owner does not recall what damage he did to the vehicle the left side, bumpers and hood have
been painted. Under florescent light you can tell the color is different on the left side but outside it is not
noticeable. In looking the car over closely and cleaning it up there is no indication that the damage was much
more than "skin deep." Knowing the gentleman who owned the car who is an absent minded professor type he probably
scraped the side of the car on a pole or the wall of a garage. There are a few door dings on the right side but
only one that is obvious. It has typical chips in the bumpers and other places on the body all of which have been
touched up. There are two stars that were repaired in the windshield. Over all the interior is excellent with two
exceptions. The carpet on the drivers side is a bit worn on the sill and it is worn through in one spot which was
filled in with a piece from elsewhere on the floor. We repaired the seat back bolster on the left side of the
drivers seat and the seats were dyed. I intend to see if I can get all the service records from Herb Chambers so
that whomever purchases the car has full documentation. An original Porsche cover is included. The car comes with
a copy of the original MA title as the owner could not locate the original. It is signed but not filled out for
anyone purchasing the vehicle in a title state.

Porsche LMP1 to use 4-cyl hybrid powertrain [w/poll]
Wed, 11 Dec 2013With the Formula One season - and indeed his entire F1 career - now behind him, Mark Webber took advantage of his early release from Red Bull Racing to try out the new LMP1 which Porsche is developing, undertaking the final test session of 2013 before Porsche throws it head first into the FIA World Endurance Championship next April. The session - which followed previous tests at Magny-Cours, Monza, Paul Ricard and the Eurospeedway at Lausitz - was held at the Algarve circuit in Portimão, Portgual, in collaboration with Michelin, which is developing the tires for the car. But that's hardly the news here.
No, the news is the first confirmation we've seen on the type of powertrain Porsche has developed for its new Le Mans prototype: a gasoline-burning four-cylinder engine with direct injection and two energy recovery systems. This contrasts sharply with the V6 turbodiesel and single electric motor used by Audi in the R18 e-tron Quattro (or at least the outgoing version) or the naturally-aspirated V8 and single electric motor found in the Toyota TS030. Flexibility in the rules set down by the FIA and ACO give the manufacturers that kind of latitude, prompting F1 teams like Ferrari and Renault to consider developing their new engines for Le Mans prototypes as well.
At this point Porsche isn't saying how large its four-cylinder engine is or how much power it will produce. But it'll be interesting, to say the least, to see how it fares against the Audi and Toyota in next year's championship and at Le Mans when it'll be piloted by Webber, former Lola LMP1 driver Neel Jani and Audi's own 2011 Le Mans-winning pair of Romain Dumas and Timo Bernhard.
Porsche finally gives up the goods on 2014 Macan
Wed, 20 Nov 2013Preparing a beachhead in the marketplace for the 2014 Porsche Macan crossover has been a years-long project for the German company. We've been hearing and reporting on rumors of the vehicle from its ideation stage and have covered the Macan's birth thoroughly over the last 12 months, including teasers, rumors, spy shots, leaked videos and more. Now, just ahead of the LA Auto Show-debut of Porsche's first-ever compact crossover, the wait for details is at an end.
Porsche will offer the crossover in two flavors to start: Macan S and Macan Turbo. The S model will be fitted with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that makes 340 horsepower and will push the vehicle from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 5.2 seconds, then on to a top speed of 156 miles per hour. The Macan Turbo has even more impressive figures on all fronts: an all-new, 400-horsepower, twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 engine; 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds; top speed of 164 mph. Both models make use of Porsche's seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission as standard.
As impressive as these potent powertrains are the brakes Porsche is fitting to its new crossover. Six-piston monobloc fixed-caliper brakes live up front, grabbing 13.78-inch discs on the S model and tremendous 14.17-inch discs on the Macan Turbo. We're expecting serious stopping performance, to say the least.
Are you the Porsche Pajun?
Mon, 17 Nov 2014The prospect of Porsche building a smaller version of the Panamera has been an on-again, off-again proposition as the German automaker seems to go back and forth on the project. Last we heard, Porsche had pushed back the so-called Pajun (shorthand for Panamera Junior) until 2019 at the earliest, but we could be looking at it right here.
The automaker's everything-but-automotive division Porsche Design is working on a luxury condo complex called (simply enough) Porsche Design Tower. It's been three years in the making and will take at least another year or two to complete, but the gist of it is that the 57-floor building will include 132 apartments, each with its own en-suite garage in which the residents' cars will be parked thanks to giant elevators.
Porsche Design released a series of renderings showing what the property will look like once complete. Most of the renderings feature Porsches, of course - production models you can find in any of the brand's showrooms, like the one just 23 miles away in Coral Gables. But one of the renderings of the giant glass elevators shows something rather unusual.
