This 911 Carrera is an expert metal up restoration and converted to the IROC clone using all metal fenders ( no fiberglass stuff). The car's paint is a 9 of 10, interior is 9 of 10. The car is a beautiful guards-red, with cleared Carrera emblems, factory black interior with new dash, door panels, seats, head liner, carpet, rear seat delete, and new window seals. There is no rust anywhere. The engine is from a low mileage 1998 Corvette (32k mi), has a custom cold air intake, and JBA shorty headers, the rest is stock. The engine has all GM electronics, EFI, and throttle by wire. The car hot, and cold starts first click every time, with like-new factory vehicle reliability; including very smooth throttle characteristics and power delivery. The car made 361 RWHP, 365 Ftlbs TQ (I have the dyno-sheet), through a freshly rebuilt 915 manual 5 speed transmission and high performance clutch. The car has AC, pw windows, pw seats, and pw sunroof, all in good working order. The car's suspension was upgraded to coil over shocks on all 4 corners, and has adjustable anti roll bars front and rear. The brakes were upgraded to Porsche BoxterS calipers, rotors, and new pads, e-brake is adjusted and works great. The Fuchs wheels are polished aluminum 17x9.5in (265s) and 17x11in.(315s) front and rear respectively, with all new rubber. The car has custom SS polished Magnaflow exhaust with a great tuned, throaty V8 sound under throttle, but without being excessively loud, and no highway drone. At 2578lbs wet weight, the car maintains a 49/51 balance, handles tight, shifts smooth, and acceleration is insane. It will annihilate a stock 930 turbo, and is truly a blast to drive. Recent upgrades (last 6mo.) include: 2500.00 Custom Audio Advisors, JL audio installed sub, mids, highs and amplifier (rear seat delete); sounds incredible without disrupting the interior appearance. New Audio install also includes a Pioneer head unit with hands-free calling ability, and Blue-tooth audio and cell phone linking ability. Also had a Suntek clear-bra professionally installed for protection. A cooling system overhaul, new aluminum water lines along rockers, in place of the renegade-hybrid style "eye-sore" rubber hoses, new Stewart EMP pump, and expanded coolant tank capacity. Car runs at a maximum of 170-185F coolant temps, at idle or under heavy throttle. With the car comes the original owner's manual, service manual, and detailed build-binder with every, part, receipt, and schematic for servicing vehicle accurately.

Five reasons to love, or hate, the culture of German cars
Thu, Mar 5 2015A few months back, we took a 500-foot view of the culture of American cars, dissecting prides and prejudices on our way to the conclusion that automotive allegiances can be simultaneously embraced and derided. We had so much fun with the narrative that we decided to do it again, this time taking a look at Germany and its world-renowned lineup of automakers, including the likes of Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Volkswagen, among others. Join us below as we discuss the points and counterpoints that make or have made the German auto industry what it is today. And remember, Germany did pretty much invent the automobile, after all... The V12 Engine If America is known for the proliferation of the V8 engine, an argument could be made that Germany owns the V12. Yes, of course, other companies have created V12 engines – Ferrari, Jaguar and Lamborghini immediately come to mind – but the big 12-cylinder powerplants from BMW and Mercedes-Benz, in particular, have proven to be some of the most effortless, luxurious and downright over-built engines the world has ever seen. These days, having 12 cylinders is more a case of wretched excess than ever before, and yet, you can still stroll into your local BMW or Mercedes dealership and get a brand-new 760i, S600 or even an over-the-top G65 AMG, efficiency be damned. Best of all, since the majority of these German powerhouses depreciate as fast as an anchor sinks, nearly any auto enthusiast who dreams of a dozen cylinders can satisfy their carnal desires. Current Star: 2016 Mercedes-Maybach S600 View 28 Photos Diesel Engines Remember how we talked about those glorious V12 engines? Well, you can even get one from Audi that runs on diesel. If your compression-ignition fantasies err more on the side of fuel savings, that's no problem, either. Audi, BMW, Mercedes and Volkswagen have got you covered, with engines starting as small as 800 cubic centimeters (Smart Fortwo). If you want something a little more practical, it's hard to argue with a VW Golf TDI, which will provide plenty of space for you and three of your best friends, plus a fair bit of luggage, all while returning 50-ish miles per gallon. For the purposes of this discussion, we'd rather focus on the asinine levels of torque provided by Germany's high-end diesel engines than the lower-end fuel sippers.
Porsche again staring down another $1.8B in hedge fund lawsuits
Wed, 15 May 2013The sequence of events from 2007 that began with Porsche's secret attempt to take over Volkswagen, and instead lead to Porsche being taken over by VW, continues to instigate lawsuits against the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer. A group of hedge funds that suffered over $1 billion in losses sued the car company in New York. Porsche had publicly stated it wasn't trying to buy VW, the hedge funds in question were shorting VW stock, and when Porsche's actual intentions were revealed, the stock shot up and the hedge funds took a beating.
The case was thrown out over the issue of jurisdiction, then appealed, only to see another suit filed on top of that. After that, most of the hedge funds withdrew their claims in New York and Porsche offered a 90-day window to refile in Germany where it is already fighting a number of other suits over the same issue. The hedge funds accepted the offer, refiling in Stuttgart for $1.8 billion in damages. According to Bloomberg, Porsche hasn't commented on the refiling, but as the same plaintiffs are involved, it's safe to assume that the carmaker still feels the case is "unsubstantiated and without merit." It has fared alright so far even in German courts, with two lesser cases against it thrown out last year.
Watch Evo pick its 2015 Car of the Year in this epic video
Mon, Dec 7 2015With just a few days left in 2015, it's the perfect time to check out Evo's annual Car of the Year test to determine the greatest performance vehicle of the last 12 months. The writers' picks for the 11 finalists spanned a breadth of engaging models and included: Peugeot 208 GTi by Peugeot Sport, Lamborghini Aventador SV, Seat Leon Cupra Sub8, McLaren 675LT, Porsche 991 GT3 RS, Porsche Cayman GT4, Honda Civic Type R, Ferrari 488 GTB, Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, Lotus Evora 400, and Mercedes-AMG GT S. For the venue to test the mettle of these performance machines, Evo stuck close to home this year and visited the twisting roads at the beautiful north coast of Scotland. Racing brothers Marino and Dario Franchitti also came along for the ride to provide two more voices in the competitive challenge to determine a winner. Evo's video explains why each model deserves to be among such rarified company but doesn't gloss over their faults either. There can be only one winner, though. We don't want to spoil it, so check out the clip for magnificent views of these performance machines through the Scottish countryside.
