1986 Porsche 911 Factory Widebody, M470 / M491 Cabriolet, No Reserve! on 2040-cars
Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States
No Reserve Call 616-881-2429 1986 Porsche 911 Factory Wide Body Cabriolet, Code M470. The Factory M470 option is a ''Turbo Look'' body but deletes the front and rear spoilers. Only 36 cabriolets were built in 1986 with the Factory M470 making it one of the rarest versions of the Carrera built and it produced a roadster look that set the stage for the 1989 Speedster. 28,548 mile example offered here is presented in Grand Prix White over two tone red interior, black convertible top and color keyed Fuchs. It was delivered new in the great state of Massachusetts optioned with Turbo Look, Spoiler Delete, Tonneau Cover, Heated Seats, Blaupunkt Radio, Central Locking System, Full Power Seat, Cruise Control, Alarm System, US Standard Emissions, Power Top, and Dunlop Tires. Circa 1989, the car was sold to an enthusiast in Tennessee where it remained for next 11 years then to California where it has remained until our recent acquisition. The car sits in excellent running and driving condition and is powered by its original 3.2 liter engine. I have receipts from 2013 for $1,684.83 with most notable things being all new wheel bearings and shift linkage adjusted and repaired for proper shifting. This is all the records I have. What you see is what you get. I don't know anything else about the car and why the color change was done. COA on hand showing numbers matching and factory colors. Clean and free title in hand. Clean CarFax! This Porsche has had a color change some 15 years ago for the taste of the owner at that time from the original Crystal Green metallic over blue leather. This car has not been serviced in years and should be gone through top to bottom. Car does run and drive good with no smoke. AC does not work. This is being sold as a project car to bring back to life. This car is sold AS-IS where is. I am a licensed and bonded dealer in the state of Michigan. $199 Doc fee will be added to cost of the car. |

Watch Evo pick its 2015 Car of the Year in this epic video
Mon, Dec 7 2015With just a few days left in 2015, it's the perfect time to check out Evo's annual Car of the Year test to determine the greatest performance vehicle of the last 12 months. The writers' picks for the 11 finalists spanned a breadth of engaging models and included: Peugeot 208 GTi by Peugeot Sport, Lamborghini Aventador SV, Seat Leon Cupra Sub8, McLaren 675LT, Porsche 991 GT3 RS, Porsche Cayman GT4, Honda Civic Type R, Ferrari 488 GTB, Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, Lotus Evora 400, and Mercedes-AMG GT S. For the venue to test the mettle of these performance machines, Evo stuck close to home this year and visited the twisting roads at the beautiful north coast of Scotland. Racing brothers Marino and Dario Franchitti also came along for the ride to provide two more voices in the competitive challenge to determine a winner. Evo's video explains why each model deserves to be among such rarified company but doesn't gloss over their faults either. There can be only one winner, though. We don't want to spoil it, so check out the clip for magnificent views of these performance machines through the Scottish countryside.
Porsche finally gives up the goods on 2014 Macan
Wed, 20 Nov 2013Preparing a beachhead in the marketplace for the 2014 Porsche Macan crossover has been a years-long project for the German company. We've been hearing and reporting on rumors of the vehicle from its ideation stage and have covered the Macan's birth thoroughly over the last 12 months, including teasers, rumors, spy shots, leaked videos and more. Now, just ahead of the LA Auto Show-debut of Porsche's first-ever compact crossover, the wait for details is at an end.
Porsche will offer the crossover in two flavors to start: Macan S and Macan Turbo. The S model will be fitted with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that makes 340 horsepower and will push the vehicle from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 5.2 seconds, then on to a top speed of 156 miles per hour. The Macan Turbo has even more impressive figures on all fronts: an all-new, 400-horsepower, twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 engine; 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds; top speed of 164 mph. Both models make use of Porsche's seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission as standard.
As impressive as these potent powertrains are the brakes Porsche is fitting to its new crossover. Six-piston monobloc fixed-caliper brakes live up front, grabbing 13.78-inch discs on the S model and tremendous 14.17-inch discs on the Macan Turbo. We're expecting serious stopping performance, to say the least.
The 2014 Ruf RCT offers rear-drive action with 911 Turbo fun
Wed, 05 Mar 2014Ruf has 37 years of experience of turning Porsches into even higher performance machines. For the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, it's unveiling the RCT, or Ruf Carrera Turbo, which offers power to split the difference between Porsche's 911 Turbo and Turbo S models.
The RCT starts with a unique body kit with a new front air dam and drastically changed rear deck that combines both a small spoiler and air intake. Power is provided by a twin-turbocharged, 3.8-liter flat-six with 525 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque paired to either a seven-speed manual or seven-speed dual clutch transmission. That gives the Ruf a 5-hp and 15-lb-ft advantage over Porsche's own Turbo but is still less powerful than the full Turbo S. The RCT sprints to 62 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds and to a top speed of 196 mph.
However, the Ruf's big advantage is that it offers buyers the choice of either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, while Stuttgart's turbo models are only available spinning all four wheels. The RCT can also offers upgrades like an integrated roll cage and custom suspension packages, should the buyer be so inclined to splash out on racing kit.
