Offering a very nice example of a 1984 911 Porsche Targa with  Whale Tail kit, but car is not a Turbo.     We feel in love with it so many years ago when we saw the Whale Tail as the seller's garage door was opening.

This car turns heads.   It is like a moving piece of sculpture.  It looks fabulous sitting in any driveway!    We have only driven it on dry days between  April until October. .  It has been storied in covered parking or under it's Porsche fitted cover.  

You know the story  about the guy who leaves his wife for a younger woman, then sends her an email telling her to sale his stuff including his Classic Porsche, Ping Golf Clubs, and his custom suits and send him the money.    Well, this is not quite that story, but I am selling his baby.  Actually, both of us  have loved this car for many years, but I have convinced him to think about a convertible now.  So, he is allowing me to sell it!   No younger woman involvement that I know of!  

WE HAVE THE BOOKS, MANUALS, KEYS, TOOLS AND MANY YEARS of SERVICE RECORDS.  The tires are in very good shape with many miles left on them. 

This is an original car with no modifications and has NEVER been raced.   Has a TURBO kit with Whale Tail,  but is not a Turbo.   Remember that the AC in a 1984 air cooled car does not blow cold air like newer water cooled cars.    AC does work.  

Comes with a Porsche Bra and 2 Gray sheepskin seat covers.   Radio and speakers have been upgraded a few years ago. 

The things that I feel need to be addressed: 

It needs to have the Targa Top re-covered but the lining is perfect.    

I just noticed that the driver's seat has a stain on the seat fabric.    We have had the sheepskins on for years now, so I never noticed it.

2014 Porsche Panamera arrives with new E-Hybrid, long-wheelbase models

Porsche will officially unveil the refreshed 2014 Panamera at the Shanghai Motor Show later this month, and there's a whole lot in store for the updated model, far beyond the minimal styling tweaks you see here. Sure, there's a new fascia with more prominent LED lighting (including full LED headlamps) and the rump has been tweaked ever so slightly, but the big news for 2014 concerns what's underneath that rakish skin.
First up, Porsche will now offer a Panamera S E-Hybrid model - a plug-in hybrid that builds on the technology first introduced in the Panamera S Hybrid that we tested in 2011. For this new application, a more powerful electric motor and higher-performance battery have been fitted (official specs have not been released just yet), and Porsche says the battery can be recharged in just two and a half hours when the car is plugged in to a 240-volt outlet, and the charging (as well as other vehicle data) can be monitored via a new Porsche Car Connect app available for Android and iOS devices.
The E-Hybrid will have an all-electric driving range of "greater than 20 miles" and will be able to travel at speeds up to 84 miles per hour solely on electric power.

Mercedes-Benz designed the AMG GT to compete head-on with the Porsche 911. It's a clear, singular purpose, and Benz brings a lot of money, technology and race-bred expertise to the fight.
The AMG GT is Merc's followup to the awesome SLS AMG, the retro-modern, gullwing-doored coupe that took us by storm half a decade ago. But this new GT coupe is a more focused sports car than the SLS, rather than an all out supercar capable of extreme performance. It's got a brand-new V8 engine, and state-of-the-art technology that help it to not only be a proper Mercedes, but to be a serious performer.
Mercedes will sell its new baby in two models. The GT S arrives first, in spring 2015, followed by the standard GT in mid-2016. Of course, there's room to grow from there. And while Porsche may have already expanded its 911 range to include a vast variety of models, here's how Stuttgart's icon stacks up against Affalterbach's bad boy.

Porsche finally gives up the goods on 2014 Macan

Preparing a beachhead in the marketplace for the 2014 Porsche Macan crossover has been a years-long project for the German company. We've been hearing and reporting on rumors of the vehicle from its ideation stage and have covered the Macan's birth thoroughly over the last 12 months, including teasers, rumors, spy shots, leaked videos and more. Now, just ahead of the LA Auto Show-debut of Porsche's first-ever compact crossover, the wait for details is at an end.
Porsche will offer the crossover in two flavors to start: Macan S and Macan Turbo. The S model will be fitted with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that makes 340 horsepower and will push the vehicle from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 5.2 seconds, then on to a top speed of 156 miles per hour. The Macan Turbo has even more impressive figures on all fronts: an all-new, 400-horsepower, twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 engine; 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds; top speed of 164 mph. Both models make use of Porsche's seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission as standard.
As impressive as these potent powertrains are the brakes Porsche is fitting to its new crossover. Six-piston monobloc fixed-caliper brakes live up front, grabbing 13.78-inch discs on the S model and tremendous 14.17-inch discs on the Macan Turbo. We're expecting serious stopping performance, to say the least.
