1983 911 SC Coupe (911)
In 1978, Porsche introduced the new version of the 911, called the '911SC'. Porsche reintroduced the SC designation
for the first time since the 356SC (as distinguished from the race engined 356 Carrera). There was no Carrera
version of the 911SC. It featured a 3.0-litre engine with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and a 5-speed 915
transmission. Originally power output was 180 bhp, later 188 bhp and then in 1981 it was increased to 204 bhp.
This beautiful 911sc is all original with only 122,000 miles runs and drives Great was garage kept.
The previous owner had installed a roll cage as he went for the "Carrera RS" tribute it is a bolt in roll bar no
welding was done. All electrics are functional such as Windows, sun roof, fog lamps etc, And A\C Blows cold. Has
original fooks alloy wheels brand new Michelin tires all around.
This is an excellent example of the 1983 911SC model, running and driving as a perfect example. This car has been
meticulously maintained and serviced by the previous owner and it shows.
The engine is very strong with good oil pressure. No smoke or overheating and the temperature stay cool and
consistent. The transmission shifts smoothly through the gears and the clutch is very nice.
The interior is in excellent shape. No rips or tears on the seats and the dash & gauges are very nice. This car is
completely rust and accident free, the underbody is very dry.

'Ring Queen Sabine Schmitz battles Ron Simons in Porsche vs Ferrari scrap

Tue, 04 Jun 2013

We hope you have seven minutes to kill. RSR Nürburgring recently took the time to pit Sabine Schmitz and her slightly modified Porsche 911 GT3 RS against Ron Simons and his Ferrari 458 Italia in a sparring match around the infamous Green Hell. The clip begins with the two drivers engaging in a smidgeon of smack talk before the two get down to the business of beating each other's doors off around one of the most challenging courses in the world. Simons calls his car superior to Schmitz's 911, while Schmitz says she's up against nothing more than a Fiat driven by an old Dutch man.
Don't hold any punches, you two.
We won't spoil the finale for you, but we will say the tango is worth watching. At the end, the loser calls for a rematch. We can't wait to see that throwdown. Check out the clip below for yourself.

Roger Rodas' widow suing Porsche over Carrera GT crash

Tue, 13 May 2014

Investigations undertaken by local law enforcement may have vindicated Porsche from any wrongdoing in the crash that killed actor Paul Walker and racing driver Roger Rodas last year, but the latter's widow is apparently not convinced. According to emerging reports, Kristine Rodas has filed a lawsuit seeking unspecified damages from Porsche Cars North America.
In her suit filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court, Rodas' attorney Mark Geragos reportedly disputes the findings of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which asserted that the vehicle was traveling at an unsafe speed of 90 miles per hour on city streets, identifying the speed as the cause of the accident. Instead the lawsuit claims that the vehicle was only going 55 mph and that the cause of the crash was improper equipment - namely a faulty right rear suspension and the lack of a crash cage and proper fuel tank.

The Bearable Lightness Of Being
Start with a standard Porsche 911 Carrera and its 350-horsepower, 3.6-liter flat six-cylinder engine. Bore a crepe-thin slice of aluminum from each cylinder to get to 3.8 liters, add a wider track out back and two extra exhaust pipes and voila, you can append an S to the Carrera's name. Hang two sets of wet, multi-disc clutches along its spine and you can make that a 4, or a 4S. Bolt on two forced-induction compressors and piping, add two fender vents and comically wide rear tires and you've redeemed your ticket to a Turbo. Increase the boost pressure and swell the corral to 560 horses and you have the Turbo S, which is the Virginia Slims of the 911 line-up because it's come a long way, baby.
Or you can go in a different direction. At that second stop, grab the 3.8-liter and cart it over to the engineers at Porsche's development center in Weissach, Germany. If racing were meat, they would be among the alpha carnivores. The baseboards in their homes are probably painted with miniature billboards for motor oil and vintage cigarettes along the straights, red-and-white stripes around every corner.
