1978 Porsche 911 on 2040-cars
Dixie, Washington, United States
Just email me at: nguyetnddaner@rangersfans.com .
For sale is my 1978 Porsche 911SC, It is white with the black leather/vinyl interior. Pictured is a Recaro racing
seat, which is not included in the purchase of this vehicle. The driver's stock black seat (as on the passenger
side) would be included (as well as its original full interior). For an additional cost, I would be interested in
selling the spare parts I have from other SC's and 930 Turbos which includes almost another entire interior, A/C
parts, turbo decklid, headlights and taillights, turbo width Fuchs etc. I will try to work on photos of all the
parts I have if you are interested in buying them as well. This car just received about $5k in recent servicing
done at Northwest German in Lynnwood area just a few months ago. Within the past 1K miles its has also received
brand new Potenza RE-11's (205/55/16 and 245/45/16), brand new battery, brake service/flush, engine cleaning,
rebuilt fuel system (tank, pump, filter and lines/hoses), new spark plugs, transmission service/flush, oil change
and the addition of new adjustable rear sway bar end links. This car is ready to go to its new home. This car runs,
drives and stops great. It was imported from Europe by the previous owner, which is why it has the Amber rear
corners as well as some other features only Euro cars have, such as the headlights, I have been told. Actual
mileage unknown, however the car was imported with 88K km's, but had a odo/speedo replacement for MPH/Miles and it
reads much higher than true mileage. The undercarriage and cleanliness (read lack of rust) shows that this is a
lower mileage example, always with proper storage. Paint is really shiny however, it does have rock chips, due to
its age if you look closely. Honestly it looks astounding driving down the road and would make for a great track
car or daily driver. It is not a show queen or a concourse winner. The interior has recently been refreshed with
felted racing carpets (dark grey), RS door panels and a WEVO Shifter really help make this interior look and feel
new. The car does have a bolt in rear cage as well as a handful of suspension modifications (front and rear sway
bar/strut tower brace, Bilstien shocks, lowered etc.) It also has an aftermarket exhaust system which sounds great
as well as a Momo steering wheel. This post is a feeler as I am considering a new car and would need to make room.
Let me know if you have any further questions and please don't waste your time trying to lowball me.

Chris Harris brings together the 918 Spyder, LaFerrari, and P1
Sat, Nov 21 2015The Porsche 918 Spyder, Ferrari LaFerrari, and McLaren P1 show that a hybrid powertrain can make for blistering performance despite its electric assist. This trio doesn't arrive on track together very often, but Chris Harris assembled these three stars at the Portimao circuit for a nearly hour-long demonstration of their amazing capabilities. So, which one is quickest around the track? Harris provides an answer with in-car video of all three contenders. His team also goes out of its way to even the playing field by sourcing tires independently from Pirelli for the P1 and LaFerrari. With the technical part out of the way, Harris can start having fun by doing his usual slides during the driving comparison. Tiff Needell and Marino Franchitti also eventually show up to provide the perfect recipe for a track battle in these hypercars. If you don't have the time, skip about 14:25 into the clip just to see the lap times. However, those numbers only tell a tiny part of the story. The whole video is definitely worth a watch.
2015 Porsche Cayenne GTS proves performance is relative
Thu, Nov 20 2014The Turbo may be the most powerful model in the Cayenne range, but the GTS is arguably the enthusiast's choice. (In so far as a 4,500-pound crossover can be considered an "enthusiast's choice," anyway.) And now, after refreshing the rest of the Cayenne lineup, Porsche has revealed the new Cayenne GTS, alongside its new 911 GTS stablemate, here at the LA Auto Show. Like the new Cayenne S, the new GTS drops the previous version's atmospheric V8 for a 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6, but ups the output to 440 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque to propel Zuffenhausen's portliest to 62 in a scant 5.2 seconds. Alongside the power upgrade, the GTS gets a lowered air suspension and sportier exhaust, the beefier brakes from the Cayenne Turbo and an upgraded aero kit to help with the whole barn-door-profile thing. Just don't expect all that extra kit and the prestige of a Porsche badge on your crossover to come cheap, with prices starting at $95,500 (plus $995 destination).
Lexus leads J.D. Power's Vehicle Dependability Study for 2021
Thu, Feb 18 2021J.D. Power's latest Vehicle Dependability Study is out, and, not surprisingly, Lexus sits at the top for the ninth time in the last 10 years. Right behind Lexus is Porsche, followed by Kia, which is the highest-ranked mass-market brand in the study. Genesis, last year's top-ranked brand (in its first year included in the results), fell from first to eighth, though the G80 sedan did earn an award in its midsize luxury segment. The Porsche 911 was called out as the Most Dependable Model by J.D. Power for the second time in the last three years. The vehicles being studied are from the 2018 model year, which means owners have had three years to get to know their cars and trucks. It's notable that this year's study shows a marked improvement in overall vehicle dependability as tracked by J.D. Power. The overall level of problems, scored by the number of problems per 100 vehicles (PP100), declined by 10% compared to last year. "The study results validate what we have known for some time," said Dave Sargent, vice president of global automotive at J.D. Power. "Automakers are making increasingly dependable vehicles — but there are still some problem areas that need to be addressed and some warning signs on the horizon." Tesla makes its inaugural appearance on the Dependability Study, though its score of 176 PP100 isn't official. Tesla is the only automaker that has chosen not to grant J.D. Power permission to survey its owners in all 50 states. As we've pointed out in the past, the Vehicle Dependability Study includes eight major vehicle categories grouped by J.D. Power as follows: audio/communication/entertainment/navigation (ACEN); engine/transmission; exterior; interior; features/controls/displays (FCD); driving experience; heating, ventilation and air conditioning; and seats. All issues reported by owners are all tracked equally, which means a problematic phone pairing procedure dings an automaker's rating the same as a blown engine or transmission. And in fact, the ACEN category has more reported problems than any other, which means the majority of problems reported don't lead to a vehicle that leaves its owner stranded.
