THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION FOR AN AMAZINGLY WELL PRESERVED CLASSIC 1975 PORSCHE 911. THIS CAR IS IN WONDERFUL CONDITION INSIDE AND OUT.
The 911 can trace its roots back to sketches drawn by Ferdinand "Butzi" Porsche in 1959. The Porsche 911 classic was developed as a much more powerful, larger, more comfortable replacement for the Porsche 356, the company's first model. The new car made its public debut at the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show (German: Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung). The car presented at the auto show had a non-operational mockup of the 901 engine, receiving a working one in February 1964
It originally was designated as the "Porsche 901" (901 being its internal project number). 82 cars were built as 901s. However, Peugeot protested on the grounds that in France it had exclusive rights to car names formed by three numbers with a zero in the middle. So, instead of selling the new model with another name in France, Porsche changed the name to 911. Internally, the cars' part numbers carried on the prefix 901 for years. Production began in September 1964, the first 911s reached the US in February 1965 with a price tag of US$6,500, A clean well preserved 1964 will now fetch into the $100,000.00 range from true enthusiests.
Model year 1974 saw three significant changes. First, the engine size was increased to 2687 cc giving an increase in torque. Second, was the introduction of impact bumpers to conform with low-speed protection requirements of US law, these bumpers being so successfully integrated into the design that they remained unchanged for 15 years. Thirdly, the use of K-Jetronic CIS Bosch fuel injection in two of the three models in the line up— the 911 and 911S models, retaining the narrow rear arches of the old 2.4, now had a 2.7-liter engine producing 150 PS (110 kW; 150 hp) and 175 PS (129 kW; 173 hp), respectively
The 2.7 Carrera built for all markets, except for the United States, used the 210 PS (150 kW; 210 hp) RS-spec 911/83 engine with Bosch (Kugelfischer) MFI from the 1973 Carrera RS. These 2.7 Carrera MFI models were built from 1974 until 1976, including a special run of 20 Targas for the Belgian Gendarmerie. The Carrera built for the US market was powered by the same 2.7 liter engine as the 911S which produced 175 PS (129 kW; 173 hp).
In 1974 the Carrera was available with the ducktail from the Carrera RS. In the US market the ducktail was standard on the Carrera. For 1975 and 1976 model years the whaletail was available as an option on the Carrera. For 1976 the Carrera 2.7 was only available in Germany as a "sondermodell", or special model, with a total of 113 built with the 911/83 RS-spec engine Had essentially the Turbo's 2994 cc engine minus the turbocharger, and with K-Jetronic CIS now developed 200 PS (150 kW; 200 hp). Aluminium now replaced magnesium for the crankcase and gearbox housing
THIS PORSCHE IS A VERY RARE CAR, AS IT CAME WITH FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING WHICH WAS AVAILABLE BY SPECIAL ORDER ONLY OTHER THAN A SMALL HANDFULL THAT WERE SENT TO THE U.S PRE EQUIPPED WITH A/C. THIS IS A WONDERFUL AUTOMOBILE TO DRIVE AND TURNS HEADS EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT ANYWHERE.
THE EXTERIOR PAINT IS IN VERY NICE CONDITION AND SHINES NICELY. ALL BODY LINES AND DOOR GAPS ARE PERFECT AND THE THERE IS NOT A DENT DING OR SCRATCH ON THE CAR. I HAVE RECENTLY HAD THE CAR PROFESSIONALLY DETAILED AND IT IS NOW BEING KEPT IN MY GARAGE AND ONLY DRIVEN ON SUNDAY MORNINGS TO BREAKFAST I ACTUALLY TOOK MY 17 YEAR OLD SON AND 2 OF HIS CLASSMATES TO BREAKFAST IN THE PORSCHE LAST SUNDAY, IT WAS A TIGHT SQUEEZE BUT WE DID ALL FIT.
THE INTERIOR I AM ASSUMING IS ALL ORIGINAL OTHER THAN THE TOP OF THE DASH WHICH SEEMS TO BE NEW. THE CARPEST AND SEATS ARE IN GREAT CONDITION FOR THERE AGE AND THE FACE OF THE DASH IS ALSO IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. ALL OF THE LIGHTS AND GAUGES WORK AS THEY SHOULD AND THE SEATS ALSO ADJUST AS THEY SHOULD.
THE MOTOR FIRES UP PERFECT ON THE FIRST TURN OF THE KEY AND BEING THAT IT IS AN AIRCOOLED CAR IT DOES TAKE A FEW MOMENTS TO WARM UP WHICH IS NORMAL FOR ALL PORSCHES PRE 1988. IT IS RECOMMENDED BY PORSCHE THAT YOU LET THE CAR WARM UP AT LEAST 2 MINUTES BEFORE DIVING IN THE WINTER TIME. THE MOTOR RUNS EXCELLENT ON CITY STREETS AND ALSO PREFORMS WONDERFULLY ON THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR DOES LET A PUFF OF SMOKE OUT WHEN YOU FIRST START IT WHICH I HAVE NOT LOOKED INTO SINCE THE CAR RUNS SO WELL.
I HAVE HAD THIS CAR IN MY POSSESSION FOR A LITTLE OVER A MONTH AND HAVE REALLY ENJOYED THE WEEKEND DRIVES. I DO NOT PERSONALLY OWN THE CAR I AM SELLING IT FOR A LOCAL COMPANY THAT I DO BUSINESS WITH AND THEY HAVE CONTRACTED ME TO SELL THE CAR FOR THEM ON EBAY. IT IS NOT FOR SALE ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE ON EBAY AND IT WILL SELL TO THE HIGH BIDDER AS THERE IS NO RESERVE. THE RESEARCH I HAVE DONE ON THIS CAR HAS ME TEND TO BELIEVE THAT THE CAR WAS UPGRADED TO A 3.0 MOTOR WHICH CAME IN THE 77-83 MODELS. THAT WAS A VERY EXPENSIVE UPGRADE THAT ENTHUSIASTS WERE DOING IN THE MID TO LATE 1980'S THE DUCKTAIL REAR END WAS ALSO A POPULAR WAY OF CUSTOMIZING THIS CLASSIC PORSCHE.
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO EMAIL ANY QUESTIONS AT ALL ALSO FEEL FREE TO SET AN APPOINTMENT TO COME SEE THE CAR IN PERSON. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR LOOKING AND HAPPY BIDDING.

In what must have looked and sounded to motorists on the M6 like an invasion of The Swarm, a parade of 50 enthusiast gems leaving a charity event were caught shooting down the on-ramp and merging into traffic. There were plenty of Porsches joining the 959 and Ducktail above, Aston Martins going back to the badboy V8 of the last millennium, a Ferrari Testarossa, a TVR and numerous other Easter eggs.
There were not, however, plenty of turn signals, with someone counting just five among the fifty engaging in proper use of the blinker. One reason put forth for that is the same reason we're posting this video, which is from last Summer, below: "because supercar." Enjoy.

It's common for auto enthusiasts to have a few miniatures of their favorite cars around their home or office. They provide a respite of happiness knowing that if you can't have the real things, at least you can look at them in miniature. However, Billy Karam of Beirut, Lebanon, has taken collecting toy cars to its extreme. His collection of over 30,000 model cars and 400 dioramas is certified by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's largest collection of car toys. "You cannot buy the big ones, so you buy a thousand of the small ones instead," says Karam in the video. Karam is a former amateur racing driver with a weakness for all things Porsche, and many of his dioramas depict races that he drove in or attended. Looking at them gives him a chance to relive the experiences again, but unlike a photo or video, they are right there in three dimensions.
