Once in a very great while…maybe even once in a lifetime, a very special, incredible condition, single family
owned since new, "survivor" Porsche 911 with well preserved, fantastically documented & provable history becomes
available to the market.
Porsche 911T

The car was purchased new from the renowned Brumos Porsche Dealership in Jacksonville, Florida by Mr. Ivey on
12/12/1969. Mr. Ivey was a local electrical contractor business owner, and a very detailed perfectionist as
reflected in his record keeping. So uncommon was his attention to detail that he even kept his documented
purchasing and negotiating research from several dealerships! Then following settling the deal with Brumos, Mr.
Ivey maintained the original Dealer Transfer document, the Pre-Purchase Invoice, and even Letters of Service
Instruction, including several stamped envelopes of mailed correspondence! In all the years of dealing with
classic Porsches, we have never, and I mean never, run across a car with this much documentation and attention to
record-keeping!
Every oil change, maintenance record, service, etc…it’s all here. Want to know how many oil changes were done
between any particular time period? Want to know if the all too important engine upgrades were accomplished? Want
to know who worked on the car and when/where? Want to confirm that Auto House of Charlotte was the Porsche
dealership that rebuilt engine and transmission at 61,718 miles on 2/28/1981? It’s all here… Just thumb
through inches and inches of records and receipts, all meticulously preserved and maintained for the next owner’s
peace of mind and equal pride of ownership.
I purchased the car from Mr. Ivey’s son-in-law, Mr. Wildman, who had the pleasure of driving, maintaining, and
handling the sale once Mr. Ivey's health prevented him from continuing to enjoy this spectacular Porsche 911T.
Shortly after humbly accepting the car from Mr. Wildman, in February of 2016, unfortunately Mr. Ivey passed away.
His passion over his many years of Porsche ownership was readily apparent to anyone close to him, all of which were
familiar with his previous ownership of a stunning, white Porsche 356 Cabriolet originally purchased from Highland
Motors (Spartanburg, South Carolina's local dealership in the early 60’s). A copy of Mr. Ivey's obituary
provided in the documentation notes Mr. Ivey’s background and his many accomplishments as well, providing you
with some insight into this very special, original owner’s life.
As if the documentation wasn’t already beyond anything we’ve ever seen, included with this sale is also an
exclusive video interview of Mr. Dewey Nichols. Mr. Nichols was the co-owner of Highland Motors, Mr. Ivey’s
local Porsche dealer. The two gentlemen were close personal friends, and Mr. Nichols is still in contact to this
day with another now retired friend, “Mudd”, the very mechanic who serviced this car from new. “Mudd” was
even involved in the Brumos air-conditioning installation and went on to service the car during its early years
through the first 20,000 miles or so. The video is simply incredible! In it, Mr. Nichols further describes,
validates and provides additional details regarding the extensive documentation on this wonderful 1970 911T,
including details not normally documented via invoice! Wow… The video interview also includes Mr. Ken Ward, the
Porsche Service Manager for Leroy Cannon Motors in Greenville, South Carolina who in August 13, 1971 validated
Porsche's follow-up of a paint issue with the car. Mr. Nichols also recalls the many accessories available through
Brumos such as the original, specially ordered 3-piece luggage set that I received with the car. Mr. Nichols
even validated that the local paint shop in Spartanburg, Trotters, was their Porsche dealership’s authorized
shop of choice. A picture also provided herein demonstrates that a very insignificant right fender/door scrape
occurred in the early 1980’s. Based on what we know of the owner, Mr. Ivey, it will not surprise you that the
documentation shows a Trotter’s itemized, glass-out paint work and rubber replacement in 12/18/1981.
The detailed and extremely extensive documentation speaks volumes of both the owner and the love and care provided
for this very special car.

Nick Murray's problematic Porsche 911 shows the power of a viral video
Fri, 18 Apr 2014When Nick Murray took delivery of his 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera S in June 2013, he had saved for it for the past five years. He didn't just pluck a random 911 off a dealer lot. He specially ordered his car with thousands of dollars in extras tailored just to him, and he captured all of the options on his YouTube channel. The love affair didn't last long. Eventually the channel became a place for Nick to air his growing list of grievances about his deteriorating 911. Eventually, his mix of righteous indignation and sarcasm went viral.
By late December, he had already had four warranty repairs done on the car. Things got much worse in March. The computers began resetting whenever Nick drove over large bumps. There was also an acrid, electrical smell that occasionally permeated the cabin. Murray filed for Lemon Law protection. Porsche Cars North America contacted him for the first time to fix the problem, but it didn't help.
Things culminated in April when Murray put up a new video that showed more troubles. He began arbitration with Porsche and asked for either his full purchase price back or an exact replacement. The company countered with a portion of what the car was worth, based on its mileage. Murray refused and turned to his YouTube watchers for help. He asked them to spread the word, and the video went viral with over 800,000 views as of this writing. Supporters posted it multiple times on Porsche's Facebook and Twitter sites.
Porsche finally gives up the goods on 2014 Macan
Wed, 20 Nov 2013Preparing a beachhead in the marketplace for the 2014 Porsche Macan crossover has been a years-long project for the German company. We've been hearing and reporting on rumors of the vehicle from its ideation stage and have covered the Macan's birth thoroughly over the last 12 months, including teasers, rumors, spy shots, leaked videos and more. Now, just ahead of the LA Auto Show-debut of Porsche's first-ever compact crossover, the wait for details is at an end.
Porsche will offer the crossover in two flavors to start: Macan S and Macan Turbo. The S model will be fitted with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that makes 340 horsepower and will push the vehicle from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 5.2 seconds, then on to a top speed of 156 miles per hour. The Macan Turbo has even more impressive figures on all fronts: an all-new, 400-horsepower, twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 engine; 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds; top speed of 164 mph. Both models make use of Porsche's seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission as standard.
As impressive as these potent powertrains are the brakes Porsche is fitting to its new crossover. Six-piston monobloc fixed-caliper brakes live up front, grabbing 13.78-inch discs on the S model and tremendous 14.17-inch discs on the Macan Turbo. We're expecting serious stopping performance, to say the least.
First-ever Porsche headed home to company museum
Wed, 29 Jan 2014About 30 years before Ferdinand Porsche designed the Volkswagen Beetle, he created the Egger-Lohner electric vehicle, C.2 Phaeton model - or simply, the P1 - you see above. This was the first vehicle created by Porsche, and the car gets its nickname from the fact that he had stamped "P1" on many of the parts marking it as the first Porsche... sorry, 356 No. 1.
Now while you'd think that such an important piece of Porsche heritage has been in a museum or even the automaker's not-so-secret lair, it has actually been sitting at a warehouse for the last 112 years. Thankfully, that's all about to change as Porsche has recovered P1, and the car will soon be on "permanent display" at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart.
The P1 has a 3 horsepower motor capable of delivering a top speed of 21 miles per hour and a driving range of 49 miles, and, like many vehicles in Porsche's history, the motor is positioned at the rear of the vehicle. According to the press release posted below, the P1 finished first in a 24-mile electric vehicle race in Berlin in 1899, but it has been sitting since 1902.
