Black on Black 57 Speedster Replica built by Vintage Speedster.
I've owned the car for the last 4 years. We love it, but are moving and will not have enough room to store it.  It has always been garaged. The car is in excellent condition.  Paint is very, very good, but not perfect. A few small, minor scratches, but nothing that couldn't be buffed out if you care to, but really not necessary, unless you are looking for a show car. They are to small to show up in pictures.  Overall, it really looks great!  As far as running condition goes, everything works fine! The 1915cc engine is very quick and sounds great!  In all the time we have owned the car it has never missed a beat, starts up right away, every time.  A normal, reliable, solid VW engine. The 1915cc engine is an option from Vintage and is quite a bit quicker than the stock 1600cc engine.  The top and side windows are in excellent shape, as you can see from the pictures. The interior is in excellent condition. The suitcase and leather straps come with the car. It is licensed as a 1966 VW.  I have it insured through Haggerty Classic Car Insurance and is very reasonable.  If you have any questions or would like to see more pictures, don't hesitate to ask.

Porsche's Mauer recalls the history of the 918 Spyder, hints about next-gen 911

Wed, 26 Feb 2014

The night before Porsche handed me the keys to its 2015 Macan to drive on both road and track, the company threw together a great dinner for the assembled media in Leipzig. Hosted in Porsche's spaceship-shaped customer delivery center in the eastern German town, I'll admit that I spent the bulk of my night grabbing hors d'oeuvres from passing waiters (they do a nice tuna sashimi), milling around a collection of historic and interesting vehicles on the top floor and gulping down Warsteiner.
In an era of mega car companies, the story of how the 918 came to be was really refreshing.
Before the evening was over, however, Porsche design chief Michael Mauer stopped by my table to exchange pleasantries and thank us all for coming out to drive the Macan. My fellow diners and I passed a pleasant half-hour or more picking the brain of the forthcoming Mauer, and somehow or another, the topic turned to Porsche's newest supercar, the 918 Spyder. In an era of mega car companies (the Volkswagen Group included) and massive development teams, the story of how the 918 came to be is really refreshing.

Father-son team grows close by building tuned Porsche

Mon, 21 Jul 2014

We've seen several heartwarming videos of kids bonding over cars with their parents, whether racing together or giving them as gifts. The story of Leh Keen and his father McGrath, though, is somewhat different. Not many dads are looking for a vehicle quite this mental.
As Leh tells it, his dad saw a video online of one of the wild Porsches from Japanese tuner Rauh-Welt Begriff and decided that he needed one of the creations in his own garage. Since Leh knows something about cars himself as a driver for Alex Job Racing in the United SportsCar Championship, McGrath put his son in charge of managing the build from the company.
When the car made it to the US for completion from Rauh's famed builder Nakai, father and son bonded over the red, widebody 993-platform 911. The final product is certainly eye-catching. Scroll down to watch the video that features not only an engrossing father-son tale but also a seriously wicked, tuned Porsche from one of Japan's finest.

Race Recap: 2013 Petit Le Mans draws curtain on the ALMS [spoilers]

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

The 16th Petit Le Mans Powered By Mazda, in the final year of the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón, was run on Saturday. Even though many of this year's championships had already been decided, the last ALMS race ever would be a 10-hour, 1,000-mile slog around Road Atlanta to get names in the record books and decide a few series trophies.
Since some of you will only get around to your TIVOs (or Fox Sports coverage) today, you should stop reading now if you don't want to know who did what...
