Intermeccanica Roadster 2012 Florida Registration on 2040-cars
Winter Haven, Florida, United States
This car has every conceivable option; a fire suppression system, alarm and remote, fuel cut-off, a modern stereo built into an original Blaupunct radio, integrated cup-holders, a/c, retractable front belts, rear lap belts, disk brakes, an original ivory Banjo wheel with matching ivory piping throughout, a modern high performance 2110cc power plant (146HP) all integrated seemlessley into Intermeccanica's homage to the 1959 Porsche Roadster.
Registered in Florida this car can be driven anywhere, anytime. With the"touring" final drive of 3.44 to 1, it is a smooth highway runner, or you can carve up the turns at your local track. This car has the high flow oil cooler, ceramic coated exhaust, and breakerless ignition system to make it a strong and reliable modern interpretation of this timeless classic. The bumper over-rider and Marchall fog lamps add jewelry to the gorgeous finish and set-off the beigeGerman Happich top with its zippered window and matching boot. I have owned three 356's and I love the cars. Bullet proof, spacious and easy to live with, my '61,'62 and '63 Sunroof Coupe where all great. But not in Florida! Without a/c and with high humidity, they were only a pleasure to drive in the early morning or late at night. Enter my desire to have a hand crafted car that offered all the benefits and none of the limitations. This is not a kit, or a cheap replica of those cars. This is a hand made, custom automobile. As such, it is available for your inspection. Please feel free to contact me to set-up your personal introduction. |

Porsche announces works team for United Sportscar Championship
Tue, 24 Sep 2013Porsche is undoubtedly the most successful manufacturer in sportscar racing, and it's only upping its game. The German marque is launching its new LMP1 racer for Le Mans in pursuit of overall victory once again, and now that sportscar racing in North America is coming together under one banner in the United Sportscar Championship, Porsche has announced it is entering the fray with a works team here as well.
The new Porsche North America racing team will field two cars in the entire inaugural season of the Tudor United Sportscar Championship that's been formed out of the former Grand-Am and American Le Mans Series. The team will be based out of the Porsche Motorsport North America facility in Santa Ana, California, and will partner with three-time ALMS LMPC winners Core Autosport in getting a pair of the latest 911 RSR racecars to the front of the GT Le Mans class.
Drivers have yet to be announced, but are projected to be drawn out of Porsche's factory driver program, which includes such talents as Patrick Long, Timo Bernhard, Romain Dumas and Neel Jani. Keep reading below for the official announcement.
Porsche 911 GT3 named Performance Car of the Year by Road & Track
Thu, 13 Nov 2014The Porsche 911 GT3 is a very, very good performance car. Yes, we know this is like saying fire is hot and a shovel to the head hurts. What's different about this proclamation, then? Well, we bring up the 911 GT3's inherent goodness because our friends at Road & Track have named it their 2015 performance car of the year.
This is, our joking aside, a big accomplishment for the 911 GT3, due largely to the field of cars it beat out. There were many equally track-focused wonders in attendance, including the Ferrari 458 Speciale, Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 and Dodge Viper SRT TA, as well as more capable everyday vehicles, like the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe, BMW M3 and Ford Mustang GT.
But it was the 475-horsepower, rear-engined track star that R&T fell for, with editor-in-chief Larry Webster calling out the Porsche's ridiculous, howling, 9,000-rpm redline, while other editors cited its phenomenal handling character.
Porsche testing four-cylinder Boxster at the N?rburgring
Fri, 09 May 2014Porsche recently introduced a four-cylinder version of the new Macan for markets outside of North America, carrying Zuffenhausen's first four-pot since the 968 ended its production run the better part of two decades ago. But you can bet the compact crossover won't be the only Porsche to get the four banger before all's said and done. These spy shots, we're told, are evidence of just that.
Spotted undergoing testing at the Nürburgring (where else), this modified Boxster, our spy photographers tell us, sounds more like a four-cylinder engine than the flat six that's powered (in displacements ranging from 2.5 liters to 3.4) every version of the little roadster since its introduction in 1996, the year after the last four-cylinder Porsche ended production.
The test mule is also wearing modified wheel arches and aerodynamic aids under the bumpers, front and rear. Just what they're doing there we're not sure, but we'll probably find out sooner or later.
