1957 Porsche 356 Speedster
Recreation
Professionally Built
Flawless Attention to Detail
Under 1,000 Miles

Up for auction is a near flawless 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster Recreation, brought to you by Halberd Classics LLC, Classic & Exotic Automobile Brokerage.
This BEAUTIFUL 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster Recreation was professionally built by CMC with very nice attention to detail.  With less than 1,000 miles on the odometer, you are bidding on a like new automobile.

It is one thing to build a car with precision and detail, but the owner of that car will tell a lot about the current condition.   The current owner of this amazing Speedster has taken the time to make sure this car remains as accurate as possible and mechanically perfect.  For example the motor in this great roadster was fully disassembled and professionally rebuilt just 300 miles ago.  The top has never been on the car, because it does not leave the garage if there is even a slight chance of rain.   The tires were just replaced with brand new Nexen SB-802 165/80r15 tires, not because the originals with less than 800 miles on them had gotten bald, simply because that is how you treat a garage queen.   And the current owner has every receipt for this car stored in a 2 inch thick binder, along with original builder data.

As you can see in the photographs, the interior is representative of the rest of this 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster Recreation: near flawless.  The carpet has always been covered in floor mats and remains pristine.  The seats look as if they just came out of the factory, showing no wear.  The badging on the dash, as well as the exterior of the vehicle, is actual Porsche production items.  The steering wheel was also replaced with Nardi Torino ND wheel with a MSRP around $1,000.

This 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster Recreation was built on a 1970 VW chassis(and titled as so).  As we stated earlier, the motor was fully rebuilt less than 300 miles ago with rest of the chassis still having less than 1,000 miles on the odometer.  As would imagine this amazing Speedster fires right up at the first twist of the key and runs perfectly.  This is not only a beautiful are to look at, but a reliable driver that can be taken anywhere her new owner wishes to travel.

Whether you are looking to attend a steeple chase race in style, going out for a fun night on the town, or simply looking for a beautiful addition to your collection; this 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster Recreation is a perfect choice.

The vehicle does have a clean and clear title ready for the new owner.  As this 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster Recreation is for sale locally, we reserve the right to end the auction early before the reserve has been met.  The reserve has been set to SELL, so bid with confidence and bid to own.

This Porsche 356 family keeps it outlaw

Wed, 29 Oct 2014

Rod Emory was the founder of Emory Motorsports in Burbank, CA, and the scion to a family tradition of building "outlaw" Porsches that are almost as cool as the cars themselves. The lovingly modified Porsche 356s are lovely artifacts, and their story, along with the story of their builders, is pitch-perfect for the Petrolicious oeuvre of beloved classics.
Tune in for the history lesson, and then stick around for the car candy.

Porsche Classic to offer vintage 911 dashboards

Tue, Jun 2 2015

Porsche Classic already offers everything from oil specifically for the brand's air-cooled models to GPS navigation units for them. For restorers looking for just the right piece, the division is now also selling replacement dashboards for early 911s. Fitting models from 1969 to 1975, these dashboards aren't 100-percent original replacements. Instead, Porsche Classic reengineered the part with a modern substructure to hold up better to the sun, temperature changes, and humidity. The outer surface still looks entirely correct, though, to fit the design of these vintage air-cooled coupes. Porsche Classic is selling them for $1,353, but the the windshield needs to come out for installation. While the price may sound steep, it appears to be right in line with other dashboard replacements for the vintage 911. The Porsche specialists at Stoddard offer an example for $1,325 and list a factory part for $1,501.29. Shopping around might be worthwhile, though, because another website already seems to show the Porsche Classic unit with a markdown to $1,150. Porsche Classic Recreates Dashboard for Historic 911 June 1, 2015 New dashboard built to original specifications Atlanta. It is back: Porsche Classic is reproducing the dashboard for vintage 911 models from years 1969 to 1975. A sophisticated manufacturing process combines high quality meeting today's standards and a design that is true to the original. The new dashboard consists of a modern substructure and the original surface design. The fluted texture, tactile feel, gloss and shade of black are designed to be as close as possible to the original. The new part is now available to be ordered from any authorized Porsche dealer in the United States. MSRP is $1,353 plus any applicable taxes, shipping, and handling. Like the technical equipment, the classic vehicles' interiors are subject to normal wear. Solar radiation as well as fluctuations in temperature and humidity attack the surface and materials over time. Today's materials hold up better; therefore, to help preserve the long-term value of classic Porsche cars, Porsche Classic re-engineered the dashboard. Extensive tests conducted to modern standards assure precision fit and quality. As an original equipment part, the dashboard, which contains the loudspeaker cover, can only be installed by the original assembly procedure – which involves removing the windshield.

24 Hours of Le Mans live update part three

Sun, Jun 19 2016

We tasked surfing journalist Rory Parker to watch this year's live stream of the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans. What follows is an experiment to experience the world's greatest endurance race from the perspective of a motorsports novice. Parker lives in Hawaii and has an associates degree in dropping f-bombs. For Part One, click here. Part Two is here. Really hoped I'd be able to grab an hour or two of sleep before the sun rose over Le Mans. Dark dark dark, couldn't figure out what was going on. Commentators struggled at times as well. But I couldn't do it. Endurance racing is just too exciting. Grabs my attention with both fists. Screams, "watch these men DRIVE!" A neighbor invited me over for drinks. Told him, "Can't do it, gotta watch Le Mans!" Maybe not exactly. I'll admit, at times my attention wandered. I did a load of laundry. Ate some snacks. Half listened to the commentary. Threw a hump at my wife. I learned that Patrick Long, driving #88, is big brother to Kevin "Spanky" Long. Spanky's a bit of a legend in the skate world. Always weird how top notch talent can run in families like that. Kind of surprised I've never heard that before. Worked for a skate mag for a years, met Spanky a handful of times. Someone must've told me that he has an older brother who drives race cars. Dash cams at night are scary. High powered headlights in the P1s reach almost 300 meters. Cars outrun that distance easy. Seems like they're just steering into the black and hoping for the best. But that can't be the case. People'd be dropping dead let and right. Very amused by how the guys in GT are like, "Dude, stop flashing your fucking lights before you pass." But the LMP's are all, "Suck a dick! I do what I want." Top three stayed neck and neck nearly all night long. As the sun gets ready to creep back over the horizon the top three are separated by only eleven and a half seconds. Toyota 5 and 6, Porsche 2. Audi 8 is two laps behind Porsche, beleaguered 7 is dealing with constant trouble eleven laps from the front. GTE Pro sees Ferrari 82 in first, Ford 68 and 69 right behind. To win you've gotta drive perfect, build perfect. Fours cars retired so far. I'm beginning to appreciate the endurance aspect a little more fully. Only really considered the drivers at first. The mental and physical stress driving these cars at these speeds at length would inflict. But keeping the damn things running is the real deal. To win you've gotta drive perfect, build perfect.
