You are bidding on a 1957 Porsche Wide-Body 357 Speedster Replica.

This Speedster was made by Classic Motor Carriage in Miami, Florida.  It features a 1915cc scat motor (approximately 95 hp) with dual Webbers.  The car has 8,705 miles as of this date.

The 4-speed transmission was purchased from Strictly Foreign.  It is a super street transmission with tall boy .82 gears, gears to lower rpms at highway speeds, super differential 4-spyder gears, stronger side covers, steel forks and hardened keys.  It has rear drums and front disc brakes.  The calipers are painted to match the vehicle.

The paint finish is in better than good, but less than excellent shape.  It has a wide body with shaved door handles (which are rare).

Also features:

Black Roll Bar.

Chrome Rims and wood steering wheel with Porsche emblems.

I do have the side curtains (although one is broken).

The interior is in good shape and features black leather seats and black carpet.

The car has been garage kept (as well covered) and has recently had a complete diagnostic done by Fischer Buggy of Tampa, FL, and all is in great working order.  You are welcome to have it inspected prior to bidding.

Payment must be received within three (3) days from final auction (unless other arrangements have been made with seller).  Shipping and/or pick-up must be made by buyer.  Certified funds or cash only (U.S. funds only).

Porsche in Paul Walker fatal accident was traveling over 100 mph before crash

Fri, 03 Jan 2014

The Porsche Carrera GT involved in the November crash that killed Fast and Furious star Paul Walker and racer Roger Rodas was traveling at speeds above 100 miles per hour before Rodas lost control for "unknown reasons," according to a report from the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office that has been acquired by The Hollywood Reporter.
Once control was lost, the Porsche spun, hit a curb and then impacted a tree and a light post, then it spun 180 degrees and hit another tree before erupting in flames, the report said. Neither Walker nor Rodas were under the influence of any drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident, according to toxicology reports conducted by the coroner.
As for the future of the Fast and Furious franchise, a separate by The Hollywood Reporter claims director James Wan, writer Chris Morgan and Universal Studios will move forward with the seventh installment in the franchise, which was only partially completed when Walker was killed.

The exotic '80s: Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus and the Porsche 959

Thu, Apr 9 2015

There's no secret that we are big fans of the MotorWeek Retro Review series around here. In an automotive world that often focuses on the latest tech and what's coming in the future, it's refreshing to take a look into the past to get a new perspective. That said, the show is really outdoing itself this time by posting a full episode from the '80s to YouTube, complete with the original, jazzy opening. The video is an absolute standout, too, with drives of some of the best supercars that Europe could offer at the time. Among the now classic sportscars that MotorWeek got to drive are the Ferrari 328, Lotus Esprit Turbo, Lamborghini Jalpa and Autokraft AC Mark IV. There's even a preview that sings the praises of the tech in the Porsche 959. The episode is basically a showcase of most of the exotics from young enthusiasts' walls and school folders during the '80s and is not to be missed. Jack Olsen built one Porsche to do it all

Wed, 23 Jan 2013

Jack Olsen has built himself a lair called the 12-Gauge Garage, and inside that garage he built a lairy Porsche 911 nicknamed Black Beauty II. Although it looks like one of Stuttgart's models from the sixties or seventies, it is actually four decades of 911 gubbins from 1965 to 2000 thrown under one shell: the lightweight body is from 1972, the transaxle from 1977, the brakes from a 1986 Turbo, the engine from 1995, for example. It weighs 2,400 pounds and it's got 272 horsepower to get it going, but it's still a pure Porsche, Olsen saying, "If you stop thinking about what you're doing, it will remind you in very abrupt ways."
Olsen said the real point has been to have one car that does it all, so he does everything in his 911 from neighborhood runs to 7-11 to track racing - he loads the aero bits in the car and bolts them on trackside. And he says he'll never stop tweaking the suspension.
You can watch and hear the rest in Olsen's words in the video below.
