Up for sale is my 1965 Porsche SC Coupe, vin 219059. Very solid car, new floors, longitudinals, closing panels and jack spurs along with battery box repair. Floors and metal work are well done. New bumper guards and windshield and back glass rubber and headlight stone guards and deco molding for body and below doors were also added. The car is painted Dolphin grey which is an original Porsche color and has new Aztec red leather interior along with German squareweave charcoal carpets. The driver side hinge cover indicates that the car originally came painted color code #6405 which is Champagne Yellow. New door rubber seals and mats and door sill plates with clean headliner complete the interior. No evidence of prior accident damage or collision. The hood is not kinked and the hood pull and engine lid pull and the gas filler door pull all work smoothly. The paint is driver quality with some minor imperfections (please see link for over 150 photos), overall presentable. There are some slight bubbles on the bottom of the doors. Door bottoms are solid as can be seen by the pictures on the link. Doors and hood and engine lid all close well. The doors have a nice "thud" when they are closed. The car is titled as a 1965 but actual production year fell in 1964. It was produced toward the end of the 1964 production run and hence by the time it reached the U.S. it became titled as a 1965.
Engine is an "SC" with big bore kit and Dellorto carbs, sport exhaust and new gaskets and seals. A 12 volt conversion was done and the car now has a 12 volt generator. All lights and turn signals and brake lights work. Battery charges as is evident by amp gauge in car, starts every time. As soon as the key turns the ignition the engine roars to life with no delay. A 12 volt Optima battery provides dependable starting and power to the car. Engine holds an idle and will idle smoothly. Excellent oil pressure the whole time the engine is running holding 35-40 lbs at idle and 50-65 lbs running down the road. Four wheel disc brakes stop the car on a dime and pull "straight", stopping the car evenly and quickly, if necessary. At highway speeds the car tracks straight and does not pull to either side. Clutch is strong and synchros in all four forward gears shift smoothly as does reverse. The speedometer and odometer work as does the tachometer; the combination gauge is not hooked up since there is another gauge for oil pressure and the gas gauge is currently not working. Horn and windshield wipers work. Tires are near new and have plenty of tread. Sometime in the car's past the engine was changed. A complete engine rebuild was done in 2008 where the engine was removed and re-sealed and newly machined cylinder heads were installed. It was also converted to 12 volt at this time (receipt in hand). 15" Fuch alloy wheels and new Koni shocks upgrade the suspension.
We have posted over 150 photos here:
Here are 2 videos. The first with the engine running at idle and being revved:

Porsche undecided on new 911 GT2 [w/poll]
Thu, 23 Jan 2014Fans of hardcore 911s had it pretty good with the last 997 generation. There was the GT3, GT3 RS, GT3 RS 4.0, GT2 and GT2 RS (pictured above). Each one was faster, more powerful and more expensive than the one below it, but what they all shared was what Porsche purists love most: rear engine, rear drive, a manual transmission and little else.
So far with the new 991, Porsche has only released a GT3 version. Sure, there have been other models, but they're all decidedly more luxurious and less performance-focused. And as impressive a machine as the new GT3 is, it has run the risk of alienating some of its most ardent fanatics with technological interference in the form of a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and four-wheel steering. So what those purists have really been looking forward to is a more hardcore GT3 RS or new GT2. But those may not be coming so quickly.
Speaking with 911 project chief August Achleitner, Car and Driver reports that a new GT2 is anything but a foregone conclusion. The reasons may be partially political, but could be technical in nature as well: with 560 horsepower driving all four wheels, the new 911 Turbo S runs the 0-60 in less than three seconds. Give it more power but less traction, as Porsche has done with past GT2s, and you may not end up seeing an actual improvement in performance. A GT2 that's slower than the Turbo S would be difficult to explain.
Porsche testing new 911 GTS
Wed, 28 May 2014Porsche may have one more vehicle in its stable with the GTS moniker, if these spy shots are any indication. They show off the presumed 911 GTS lapping the track - the model meant to slide in under the GT3 to be a bit more driver-friendly but still very fast alternative to a stock Carrera.
At first glance, it might look like any other 911, but the devil is in the details. The most obvious among the differences are two centrally mounted exhaust outlets, rather than the ones closer to the corners on most of the current models. They also aren't perfectly in the center like the GT3. The taillights are also somewhat thicker than the current ones, and the rear decklid is split into three exposed sections.
This is the third time we've seen the presumed GTS. The first was as a coupe late last year. Then it showed up again in March testing in convertible form. Although, that version also sported fender vents at the rear.
Porsche celebrates 50 years of 911 with some excellent pics
Tue, 12 Feb 2013The Porsche 911 is one of the most iconic sports cars of all time, and to celebrate the car's first 50 years, Porsche has released a stunning set of photos showing how far the 911 has come from the original back in 1963 to its current 991 generation. Unlike the recent 60-year photo spread that Chevrolet put together for the Corvette, though, Porsche's gallery only shows the original 911 and the current car.
Each time the 911 is redesigned, the car's front fenders, roofline and the shape of the side windows are key focal points. Even some of the interior cues have remained the same over the years, including the positioning of the ignition key on the left of the steering column and the five-gauge instrument cluster layout.
Scroll down for Porsche's press release breaking down the seven generations of the 911, and be sure to check out our gallery with plenty of high-res pics for you to download as a desktop wallpaper. In fact, we're providing these at 1920-pixels-wide instead of our usual 1280 wide. Enjoy!
