Selling my "barn find" [found last year] original one family owned 1965 SC. This is a well cared for original car. I bought this from the original owner's son. He had the car parked in his warehouse for about 6 years. Per the porsche owner's book with the car,His father bought the car here in Nashville in late 1964. Per the son, The car was "bumped" into in the back drivers side quarter panel sometime in the early 70's, the car was fixed and repainted,[ drivers door line needs work] the color is Very close to the original color. and for 40 year old paint looks damn good. There is very little rust on the car, [1 Jack point under the drivers door has a rust spot], I believe the floor boards and battery area have been replaced. When we pulled the car out, I had it taken to Wikki Lawerie and his company Rentag motorworks here in Nashville [feel free to call him] he completely rebuilt the motor, which had [90k miles on it when we found it. The original owner had an electronic fuel pump added to the motor , which we have left on the car.I have put about 1000 miles on the car] and put a new muffler [original specs] back on the car. We also installed new weber carbs , but I do have the original solex carbs.I have not really done anything else to the car since it was found. All the original instrument cluster gauges work, clock is not running... lighter and ashtray are intact but are worn...still original 6 volt system  The Car runs great and is a good driver. It is... NOT A PRISTINE CAR ...but it is a very good looking and solid car and I would not be afraid to drive it anywhere. Just saw an original go on ebay in way less condition than mine is in, go for 55k... so my price is pretty solid. If you are looking for a very nice driver, that does not need much work, my car may be the car for you
Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. I am happy to help make arrangements. Glad to meet and show the car to anyone around the Nashville Tn area.
I have done my best to describe my car,Car comes with no warranty's, other than the motor work we just had done
glad to answer questions
Thanks for looking Jon

Singer Porsche, Koenigsegg, NSX: Leno's life doesn't suck

Tue, Oct 6 2015

Jay Leno had quite a productive trip this year during Monterey Car Week. Not only did he get to pal around with Ian Callum and check out the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, but the denim-clad comedian also headed to The Quail to talk to some prominent figures in the modern sports car scene. Capping off the fun, he got to take a drive in a Mercedes-AMG GT S, too Perhaps the highlight of this show is a nearly 10-minute interview with Christian von Koenigsegg. The founder of the Swedish hypercar company digs deep into the Agera One:1's engineering details, relating interesting facts about the aerodynamics and transmission. In addition, Leno chats with Rob Dickenson of Singer about its newly reimagined Porsche 911 Targa, and he gets the latest scoop on the Acura NSX's progress from newly promoted Acura Vice President and General Manager Jon Ikeda. If you like hearing about the nuts and bolts of sports car development, then this video can't be missed. Of course, we were there at Monterey, too, and we pointed our own cameras at some of the amazing machinery, both vintage and modern, at all the various car-focused events of the week. Take a look back at some of our own cool footage in the videos below. Related Video:

Sunday Drive: The future looks bright, and the present ain't bad, either

Sun, Oct 1 2017

A look at the week that just passed proves that Autoblog readers love looking into the future. Spy photos of the next Porsche 911 and a mysterious Dodge Demon prototype led the way last week as some of our most popular stories. A teaser from Subaru has our appetites whetted for the next WRX, and we're intrigued by the value proposition offered by the rear-wheel-drive Kia Stinger. Long-distance motorcycle tourers went gaga over leaked images of the next Honda Gold Wing. Such intense interest comes as no surprise considering that it's the standard by which all its competitors are judged, and it looks to be getting some serious new technology in its next iteration. And finally, we can't help tooting our own horn a bit. Autoblog just launched a brand-new Car Finder tool, which, after getting a few data points to work with, offers up a perfect list of vehicles for new-car buyers. As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry. 2019 Porsche 911 to get digital interior — only the tach will be analog Spy Shots: What the devil is Dodge up to with this narrow-body Challenger Demon? Porsche employees take pay cuts so they can build Mission E

Wed, Dec 30 2015

Porsche's 13,000 workers in Zuffenhausen, Germany, agreed to work more and at adjusted wages to ensure that the factory can build the production version the Mission E electric performance sedan. Their sacrifices could save the German sports car maker several hundred million euros, according to Reuters. The Zuffenhausen site was possibly in danger of losing the Mission E because workers there receive higher wages than Porsche's other factories. The specific savings from these concessions reportedly include increasing the workweek by one hour to 35 hours and eliminating portions of pay increases between 2016 and 2025. Porsche didn't officially confirm the precise cuts, but a spokesperson told Reuters: "Employer and employees have jointly drawn up measures that have led to the decision of producing the Mission E model at Zuffenhausen." Porsche plans to invest about $768 million into the Zuffenhausen factory over the coming years. That money will help create over 1,000 new jobs and will build a new paint shop, assembly plant, and upgrade the engine factory to produce electric motors. The expansion will also allow the company to move all production of the Cayman and Boxster to Zuffenhausen by August 2016 rather than the current strategy of outsourcing some of the models' assembly to Osnabruck, Germany. The Mission E should enter production by 2020, and Porsche Executive Board Chairman Dr. Oliver Blume promises it to be the "most sophisticated model in this market segment." The concept at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show offered a glimpse at the next-gen technology by presenting a swoopy EV sport sedan with all-wheel drive and a total of 590 horsepower from two electric motors. Porsche claimed the concept could reach 62 miles per hour in just 3.5 seconds and go nearly 311 miles on the European testing cycle.
