This 1964 Porsche 356 C Coupe has been a California car its entire life,
according to its statements of origin and Certificate of Authenticity (see photos) was imported to Long Beach when new,
Painted in Light Ivory with Black interior, by its original owner, and in 1975 it was purchased by a family from La Mirada California,
at the time they purchased the vehicle it had a bad repaint in what looks like a dark blue or black color, the paint was pealing and
there was a dent near the left rear tail light. The family started by having the body work repaired and the car repainted in red, they
also had the seats recovered in black leather and in 1976 the car was back on the road, with this car comes a note book of receipts of parts
and work done on the car between 1975 and 2012 including many old photos of the car. The odometer reads 74350 and that is believed to be the original    mileage  although it cannot be proven.
Since I have owned this car I have had the engine fully serviced and the weber carbs have been rebuilt, the fan shroud and sheet metal have been powder
coated, a new  battery, crank shaft seals, sump plate gaskets, oil cooler seals, drive belt, spark plugs, oil lines and oil filter have been installed.
The floors are in excellent original shape, I did have the battery box tray replaced and repaired professionally using a replacement panel purchased from
stoddard parts. The body is not perfect and the paint does show its age and is worn thin in areas but there is no rust what so ever on the car and,
it does polish up nicely and has the appearance of a driver not a restored car or a show stopper, it does how ever perform as a good daily driver car should.
This car is a Matching numbers very solid rust free black Plate California car with 37 years worth of documentation, and Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.

Please contact me for with any questions or request for photos you may have.

Porsche to develop new line of engines for next Panamera

Sat, 22 Mar 2014

When the second generation of the four-door Porsche Panamera launches, it will likely be riding a new platform, complete with an all-new family of V6 and V8 engines, according to a report coming out of the UK.
Autocar reports that the so-called MSB platform will likely underpin the Panamera, and it could be shared with Bentley, provided the Volkswagen-owned, British-built brand commits to the architecture. As for the engines, it's reported that they'll have a sportier character than the V6s and V8s being built for Volkswagen and Audi's vehicles.
"Porsche will have its own new V8 that will be common to the new MSB platform," Porsche's chief engineer, Wolfgang Hatz, said. "It's a family for the next 10 years of cars." Whether the V8 and V6 will be used outside of the Panamera line, though, remains unclear. There's also no mention of what place turbocharging would have with the new engines.

Second Fiddle Moves To First Chair
In the interest of full disclosure and a bit of bloodletting, allow me to admit that while I've always coveted the Porsche Boxster and its hard-hatted Cayman cousin, I've never really warmed to them visually. They've always had a certain push-me, pull-you, can't-decide-which-way-they're-going aesthetic that I've never really wrapped my head around. Porsche achieved the same thing with the original 550 Spyder's overturned bathtub bodyshell that would come to inspire the Boxster, but somehow that classic's even more symmetrical nature works for me. Fast-forward to this third generation, and at least for this enthusiast, Porsche's manchild has well and truly come of age as a design.
It's all there - a piercing stare thanks to squircle headlamps inspired by the 918 Spyder hypercar, newfound directional thrust afforded by a longer wheelbase and elongated greenhouse, and muscular rear haunches with a wider stance emphasized by larger side ductwork and snubbed overhangs. The body's teardrop shape terminates with an active spoiler that integrates into a gorgeous arc with the taillamps like a budding ducktail nod to 1973 911 Carrera RS. Despite casting a longer shadow than its predecessor, the 2014 Cayman still looks tidily proportioned, smooth and wieldy, the perfect skipping stone to ricochet down a canyon river road.

Translogic 166: Porsche 918 Spyder

Mon, Dec 15 2014

In the same month that Porsche announced that its 918 Spyder is sold out, Translogic is getting its first (and likely last) shot at the plug-in hybrid hypercar. Our drive starts off in a very civilized fashion as we tour the 918 Spyder's e-power and hybrid modes, but the fun really starts when the naturally aspirated 4.6-liter V8 engine roars to life in sport and race hybrid modes, augmenting the electric motors with an additional 608 horsepower for a total of 887. We even attempt an impromptu 0-60 test to see if we can match Porsche's gobsmacking official time of 2.5 seconds, but sadly we don't have the room to make a run on its 214-mph top speed. Watch as Translogic host Jonathon Buckley pilots this Porsche around an airstrip in Irvine, CA, with a focus on the many driving modes that set the 918 Spyder apart from anything else in the storied automaker's history.
