1963 356 factory Sunroof Coupe matching numbers rust free driver with original issue California black plates!

VIN #211783 and engine # 609482 running, shifting and braking excellent, this is a very peppy 356 and ready for someone to enjoy.
Very solid car with no rust present. Floors, torsion bar area and front suspension pan all look good. We have a thick folder of maintenance records from the last 30 years.  Previous owner did an outstanding job to rebuild engine to 90hp specs.

The interior is in excellent condition with no rips, comfortable seats and carpets in nice shape.
The sunroof is working very well, opening and closing correctly. The headliner has the factory zipper to access the sunroof motor and is in fantastic condition.
The lights, turn signals, brake lights, and gauges are all operating correctly. the original Blaupunkt radio is installed but not working.

Original color code 6204 ivory, last painted Black in 1988 so it has blemishes but still looks presentable.

Sport tires are mounted on the factory rims which have been painted black by previos owner of 30 years. He also blacked out the side window trim to give an outlaw look but can easily be stripped off to reveal the polished aluminum. The glass all looks to be in good condition. Doors, trunk and engine compartment all open and close as they should.  Ebrake needs tightening adjustment.
Comes with a box of extra parts collected through the last 30 years.

Currently registered and California clear Title ready for the next owner.

24 Hours of Le Mans an on-and-off love affair

Mon, 24 Jun 2013

There was little usual about this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans - intermittent rain in the weeks before the race meant cars didn't get on track as much as they wanted, and intermittent rain during the race meant cars went off track a lot more than they wanted. The race started with a wet track, and one of the records broken because of the random downpours was the number of times the safety car led the field - 11 times this year - although the record of two hours and 53 minutes of lapping behind the safety car, set in 2011, was not eclipsed.
None of that served to dampen the action. With little more than an hour left in the race there were cars still only a few seconds apart fighting for position, leads still changing because of pit stops and everyone drafting anyone they could.
Things didn't go the usual way up front, either - well, not exactly...

This is why we love the Porsche 911 reimagined by Singer

Tue, 11 Nov 2014

In the world of restomods, Singer Vehicle Designs is inarguably one of our absolute favorites. The company, founded by rocker Rob Dickinson, has made its name as an obsessive constructor of vintage, built-to-order Porsche 911s with modern internals and beautiful accouterments.
Xcar has put together a lengthy interview with Dickinson, covering the source of his fascination with the 911 and his passion for automotive design, before falling into his rock-and-roll days with his band Catherine Wheel. He also covers how he got into the world of modifying Porsches, rather than just restoring them. There's much, much more in the video, though, and we promise, you won't want to miss it.
Take a look.

2013 Porsche 911 RSR makes official debut

Mon, 01 Apr 2013

Porsche is ready to go racing in 2013, showing off a new 911 RSR today that is scheduled to compete in several endurance events this year. Based on the current 991 911, the new RSR will compete in the 2013 season of the World Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It will not, however, make an appearance in a North American racing series this year.
The 2013 version of the racecar has increased in wheelbase by some four inches, features a new wishbone front suspension in place of the last-generation's McPherson strut setup and boasts a new, lightweight six-speed racing gearbox. The engine, meanwhile, is an "optimized" version of last year's car, a 460-horsepower 4.0-liter boxer six-cylinder. Extensive use of carbon fiber and polycarbonate windows help the RSR shed weight, and Porsche has also balanced the weight more evenly with a lower center of gravity.
Porsche has thoughtfully dedicated some space to celebrate the 911's 50th Anniversary, with the number 50 clearly visible in the top-down view of the RSR, as well as along the doors. Scroll down to read the full Porsche press release, below.
