Greetings!

What we have for sale this Tuesday morning is a 1960 Porsche 356B Single-Grill Drauz Roadster.  This car is a first-year Roadster, and we are the second official owners and have owned the car since 1979, purchased in New Hampshire.  The car is currently in Grass Valley, CA.

Most of the rust repair work is done but the car still needs longitudinals, the rear seat pans replaced and some pieces near the rear suspension center section welded in. We have all of the necessary metal repair pieces and they are included with the sale.  See photos for parts or call/email.

The car rolls and steers fine but has no brakes.  Several parts have been placed on the car but are not bolted perfectly into place, like the brake pedal cluster.

All pieces in the photos are included with the sale, including five European heater exhaust exchangers and many parts from other 356's we've worked on in the past.

The transmission matches the Certificate of Authenticity but the engine is a few numbers off.  All mounted panels are the originals except the passenger door but the original passenger door is included in the sale, however it is in rough shape.

The windshield is also included but I neglected to get a picture of it.  The installed Mangle chrome wheels and Pirelli P6 tires are my rain wheel set for my race car, and can be exchanged for a set of original Porsche 356B wheels and tires, if desired.

I have the California title, clear and in my name, ready to sign over.

I will help as much as possible with shipping arrangements for any overseas winner.  The port of Oakland, CA is about two and a half hours away.

Sold as-is.  I encourage all interested parties to view the car in person or call for more information.  Full payment in hand required before the car leaves my property.

Good Luck and Happy Best-Offering!
thanks,
bill

Porsche reveals new LMP1 racecar testing ahead of 2014 Le Mans debut

Wed, 12 Jun 2013

Getting ready for its triumphant return to the premier racing class of Le Mans, Porsche has released a handful of images showing its new LMP1 racecar testing. Porsche hasn't run a car in the Prototype class at 24 Hours of Le Mans since 2009, but this racecar - still veiled in secrecy - will be expected to battle against the Audi and Toyota LMP1 Prototypes to help bring Porsche its 17th Le Mans victory.
Aside from knowing that it will use a hybrid powertrain to meet LMP1 rules, there are no other details about the car... including its name or potential sponsors. In the meantime, Porsche has set up a microsite, called Mission 2014, to share its extensive history racing at Le Mans. Also, be sure to check out some of the past videos Porsche has released as it gears up for its reborn LMP1 program.

Porsche gives Nick Murray exactly what he deserved [w/video]

Sat, 19 Apr 2014

The tale of Nick Murray and his lemon Porsche 911 appears to have come to a satisfactory end. As noted in the original story about Murray, he and Porsche Cars North America met and came to a resolution. However, we didn't know exactly what that meant, until now.
Murray has created a new video explaining that PCNA offered to buy back the car at full price or give him an exact replacement for it. This was exactly what he was asking for. Murray remains pro-Porsche in the new video. "I am definitely considering reordering a Porsche 911," he says.
Porsche also posted a message on its Facebook page that clarified the situation. "We at Porsche have always sought excellence in all that we do. We know you expect it of us. And when we don't meet that standard, we make every effort to improve," said a portion of the note.

Ferrari 458 Speciale vs Porsche 911 GT3 shows what Chris Harris does best

Thu, Nov 27 2014

After a brief trip behind a pay wall, British auto journalist Chris Harris is back posting videos for free online, and shorts like this one are the perfect example of why his return is so welcome. Showing up at the damp Anglesey Circuit on the Welsh coast with the Ferrari 458 Speciale and Porsche 911 GT3, Harris ostensibly aims to find the better model. However, the final result really succeeds in showcasing the fun to be had behind the wheels of both supercars, particularly when initiating huge slides around the track. As Harris presents it, the vehicles get through the circuit in somewhat different ways The Ferrari is brash and "feels alive," as he puts it as it screams around the track. Alternatively, the Porsche is a bit more restrained, while still being able to show some emotion. In the end, it comes down to trying to get a controlled lap around Anglesey from this duo, but it's pretty clear that the times don't tell the whole story. If you're in the mood to watch two of the world's premiere supercars wag their tails in the wet, then this video cannot be missed.
