1957 PORSCHE SPEEDSTER CARRERA GT REPRODUCTION
-Mild Widebody-
'TIMELESS RACED INSPIRED TRIBUTE'
You are looking at one of the most sorted out, well designed and attention-grabbing German Tribute cars ever
fabricated. This gorgeous sports car began it's life as a "FiberFab Californian" and was recently completed
restored and improved. A fresh (5000 miles) 1835 with single TURBO motor, custom exhaust and oval tip propel this
charming little beast (190 HP estimated). A new DAN MILLER custom interior ($10K to reproduce) with custom luggage
front and rear duffle, race peddles, original style wood wheel, sound deadening, piped loop carpet, fully
upholstered trunk & lid, 914 gauges, functional roll bar with meticulous hand stitched seams and extreme attention
to every detail make it an up-close stunner and a show winner.
Package trays, storage pockets, drink pockets, custom seats with ultra comfortable bottom webbing, top of the line
faux-leather (more costly than real leather with 10x the durability and moisture resistance) , 4x 12volt accessory
plugs and a crystal clear, LOUD & MASSIVE dual amp, 1000 watt sound system complete with blue tooth, concealed 6
speakers (2x 6x9"s with coved upholstered scoops to keep with retro vibe + 2x full spectrum 6"s + 10" under
dash/down firing subwoofers) complete the practicality and drivability checklist!
All Halogen and LED lighting (bright as you'd want!), vintage amber fog lights, front buckles, stone guards, custom
3m vinyl stripping, matching satin olive green/gold wheels, new tires (205/50 front 225/50 rear), racing style
front stabilizer/sway bar, new brakes (front disc, rear drum)
I have had many of these "replicas"...this is unique among the pack. Recently we took a 1200 mile trip to
Rennsport Reunion 2015, Laguna Seca Raceway for the largest Porsche meet possibly in the world; the president of
the Vintage Speedster Owners' club put our car in the very front and said ...QUOTE:
"This is what a true enthusiast's reproduction should look and sound like....not everyone can afford a real
speedster nor would they drive it on the street...you hit the nail on the head, man!!"
Did I mention that hard on the throttle it sounds like an enraged banshee, yet soft on the peddle and she purrs
like a kitten...literally.
You can buy some cookie cutter version of this car, a cheaper replica for $25K BUT YOU WILL NOT HAVE THE BADDEST
SPEEDSTER TRIBUTE EVER BUILT!!!
A perfect fusion of a classic 356 tourer, Le Mans race car, classic muscle car, James Dean era icon and daily
driver.......

Porsche 918 Spyder already almost sold out?

Mon, 20 Oct 2014

Still planning on getting your hands on a Porsche 918 Spyder? You'd better act quickly, because word has it that the hybrid hypercar is nearly sold out.
While Porsche has reportedly only delivered a little over 30 of the 918 examples of the Spyder it plans to manufacture in total, Automotive News says that production is sold out through late March or early April - just a few months shy of when production is set to wrap in July.
That's pretty impressive for a car with a base price of almost $850,000, especially one requiring a $200,000 deposit just to get your name on the list. Still, that sum is significantly less than its competitors get for the McLaren P1 or LaFerrari, both of which sell for over a million (if you can actually get on one at that price), though in fairness, production of each is limited to less than half of the 918 Spyder.

Ferrari Speciale and Porsche GT3 make the trip to Le Mans

Thu, Aug 6 2015

Call it a pilgrimage. Call it a right of passage. The bottom line is that every racing fan should make the trip to Le Mans at some point. All the better if you can do it in style, as Evo has for this latest video. Instead of taking any old car through the Chunnel and along the French countryside to the famous Circuit de la Sarthe, Evo made the trip in the Ferrari 458 Speciale and Porsche 911 GT3. Both are more extreme versions of the already capable sports cars. They're still naturally aspirated, drive the rear wheels through seven-speed dual-clutch transmissions, and both won top honors in Evo's car of the year awards upon their release. And we could hardly imagine better vehicles for the journey. Along the way, the convoy-of-two stopped by the side of the old Rouen-Les-Essarts circuit. Back in the 1950s and 60s it was regarded as one of Europe's finest street circuits, hosting the French Grand Prix five times. It was closed down and paved over in the decades that followed, and is today part of a public thoroughfare – but you can still drive around it and see some of the relics of its former self peering through. Porsche Cayman GTS in track battle with 996 GT3

Wed, 09 Jul 2014

Here's your tough question of the day: Would you rather drive a new Porsche Cayman GTS or a slightly older, 996-era Porsche 911 GT3? Certainly, both cars have their plusses. The Cayman is the more modern proposition, sure, but the GT3 is, well, a GT3. So yes, it's a tough decision.
If you're one of the lucky souls that have to make that choice, then this video from Evo should prove pretty helpful. It's a track battle, starring Jethro Bovingdon with a new GTS and an old GT3.
Calling the GTS "fantastically agile" and "fast, but it's also hilariously good fun," Bovingdon bangs home a solid lap time of 1:05.2 before switching to the GT3. It's remarkable to see just how dated the 996-generation 911 looks after viewing the newer Porsche, and from where we sit, it's further proof that the old car's headlights are something that's best forgotten. Styling qualms aside, though, can the GT3 keep up with its racy younger cousin?
