Well what can I say its a street bomber!!! Lets start with the basics... This is a very solid 1964 Pontiac Tempest that lived its life as a 70s street drag car and was last registered in the wonderful state of CT ...I couldn't get any info on how it did during its race days but I can tell u that it took me 4 hours to remove the burnt rubber from under the car behind the quarters and the twisted bars I had to replace so obviously this car hooked!! Lets start with the modifications that were done before I got it..

It has a GM 12 bolt heavy duty posi rear
A auburn chuck with a spool
Strange axles
Competition engineer sus
QA1 adjustable coil overs
Tubs are steel and welded properly
Roll bar 12 point
GTO console
Racing seats
Fuel cell
Centerline wheels on back
Drag star weld wheels in front
A very ugly paint job
Now the mods that were done by me are as followed...
Front aluminum upper and lower control arms
Front complete clip from a 1997 corvette
Big rotors disk brakes front
4 piston calipers
Steering rack moved forward to accommodate the high output LSX
A completely rebuilt 5.3 engine wich consist of..
Comp cam
LS3 oil pump
LS3 bee hive springs
LS3 roller lifters
Arp hardware through out the engine
True roller LS3 timing chain
Mild ported heads
LS3 GTO intake
GTO engine covers
2005 GTO fuel rail with injectors
The car does have all the front grille and bumper parts I had to dismantle it to remove the heavy frame in the front so now its 415 pounds lighter in front!!
I also have the rear tail lights so to really tell u there's nothing missing from the car but an owner!!!
Custom made header only one side so far don't have the time but I was going to turbocharge this vehicle the engine is only 9 to 1 comp and its a perfect candidate for turbo!.,this car comes with the last registered owners registration form it does not have a CT title because in the wonderful state of CT they DO NOT issue titles on any vehicle 1980 and older no exceptions!! So before bidding please call your DMV for info on registering it in your state..
This car was being cloned to a GTO resto mod I do have another set if rear wheels that will look much better than those dinosaurs wheels that are on the car now.
I don't have a tranny yet bcuz I was debating on wether to go auto or standard bcuz I do have a flywheel, clutch and pressure plate out of a 2005 GTO I was just trying to get a tranny for it but no luck there too much money for me right now... I really would live to finish it but I don't have the time nor money to really finish it but its not really much to do to it for the road  but I guess my loss is your gain I have way over 12k in this car and I know I'm not getting it back but its gotta be worth something so please don't treat it like a junk it's a very solid car with lots of potential ....
If u need to ask any question or u would like to talk to me about anything my number is 203-824-7699 the name is Jose and I would be happy to answer them for you ..
Thanx and happy bidding!!

The U-2 spy plane needs high-performance cars to help land

Thu, Oct 15 2015

Typically, aircraft deploy their landing gear from three main points. Most military aircraft, for example, deploy two gears at the back and one forward, like a tricycle. Some civilian aircraft flip the layout, with two in front and one in back - tail-draggers. The U-2 Dragon Lady is wildly different than any of these. With a 103-foot wingspan but a body that's just 63-feet long, the layout of the U-2 makes a traditional landing setup infeasible. Instead, the U-2 utilizes a pair of wheels, one up front and one in back. With such a bizarre layout, landings are so tough that since the U-2's earliest flights at Area 51, the US Air Force has used high-performance chase cars to guide the pilot down safely. The landing process isn't over there, though. As this video from Sploid shows, balancing out the aircraft to fit the detachable "pogos" – think training wheels for spy planes – is a comical procedure requiring a number of airman using their full body weight to even out the U-2. This video also recaps some of the great vehicles that have served as chase vehicles for this legendary spy plane. They include Chevrolet El Caminos, and the Fox-body Ford Mustangs so favored by the California Highway Patrol. For the last several years, the USAF has utilized products from General Motors, using fourth-generation Chevy Camaros, before switching over to the Pontiac GTO and most recently, the awesome Pontiac G8. It's fair to say that if you're a gearhead in the Air Force, this is the job you want. Check out the video, embedded up top. GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.

GM recalling 778,000 Cobalts and G5s, six deaths reported

Thu, 13 Feb 2014

General Motors has announced that it will be recalling 778,562 compact cars after six people were killed in accidents, partially due to the airbags' failure to deploy. An issue with the ignition switch is causing the airbag issues, as well as causing the engine and other components to shut off without warning. The recall covers the 2005 to 2007 model year Chevrolet Cobalt and 2007 Pontiac G5. (Note that the Cobalt pictured above is a 2009 model.)
According to a report from Automotive News, a number of factors can cause the ignition to switch out of the run position, including weights on the key ring, rough or bumpy roads or other "jarring" events. Any of these situations could lead to some vehicle components not functioning properly.
There have been five fatal front-impact crashes that took the lives of six people, although as a GM spokesman noted, all five of the crashes happened off road and at high speed. In each of these cases, though, the lack of airbags wasn't the only lethal factor - alcohol and failure to wear a seat belt also played a role. Outside of the fatal accidents, there have been 17 other crashes where airbags didn't deploy. It's unclear if any of these crashes were caused by the engine shutting off.
