Up for auction is a 1997 pontiac Sunfire Almost completely redone. This car is a first place show winner, adult owned,
and garage kept.
The Pros on this car:
It has a new motor, with 3700 miles on it. It was replaced a few years back. When the motor was replace a few obvious
things were replaced also. Upper motor mount, full tune up, upper and lower radiator hoses, oil. the motor is stock with
the exception of the cold air intake and header. The car exhaust system has been almost completely replaced except the mid
pipe. New Header, expansion pipe, flowmaster 40 series muffler that splits into dual rear exhaust tails with chrome tips.
It has a new rack and pinion also. The car has new brakes and calipers all the way around. The calipers and drums have been
painted red. the car has new 18
inch wheels and tires, the tires have good tread on them. the body of this car also features new panels. New front
quarter panels, new rear wing, new hood, new front and rear bumper, new side skirts and mirrors. the car was completely
taken apart and painted black and red. The red racing strip is unique with an out of the ordinary design bringing it to
a point on the nose contouring the hood instead of the traditional rectangle look. The stripe also has metallic in it
which pops when the sun hits it. The interior was redone in black and red also. The door panels, headliner, and center
console have been done in crushed velvet which also pops in sun light. the windows are tinted 5% all the way around except
the front windshield. The Mirrors feature led lights which can be turned on and of by a toggle switch inside. The headlights
have been replaced with new ones that arent foggy and have an led light bar at the bottom of each like some of the newer
cars. The headlight bulbs have been upgraded to an HID set up which are much brighter. The stock headlight wiring was not
tampered with for inspection reasons. You simply pull out the HIDS, put the stock bulbs back in and boom, no inspection
issue. You simply put the HID bulbs back in when you get home and your rolling in style and staying legal. The car is
also equipped with a night rider led light bar in the nose which can be removed without interfering with the body of the
car which is also controlled by remote and has 7 different lighting setups. The car also has LED light bars underneith
which is a very cool look at night. Its a multi color set up and has 11 different options. It can be controlled by either
the control box mounted in the center console or remote. The car also has led turn signals up front and led brake light
in the wing. Now for the stereo system in this car. This is my sickest creation yet! starting in the front of the car and
working back it features a 220 amp alt which is 130 amps over stock.Plenty of charging power there. An Isolater box which
charges the two batteries the car has, one up front, one in the truck, individually so one doesnt kill the other. Very
important piece to have when doing a dual battery setup. inside we have a Kenwood Head unit that is high powered, changes
colors on the face, cd, aux port, and USB to allow you to play your phone or mp3. it also has a remote. The door speakers
are Kenwood mids, highs, and crossovers capable of 300 plus Watts. in the truck we have a Kicker 12 inch Solobaric box
with 2 subs in it. Pushing this box is a 2000 watt D class Alpine amp. this amp is at 1/4 gain and rocks my chest when
playing songs. At 1/4 gain theres plenty of room for more power output but I cant handle anymore. There is also a smaller
Alpine amp pushing the mids and highs which produces 300 to 500 watts. There is a sec battery in the trunk along with a
Tsunami capacitor. Just a safe guard for the system to keep it at peak power but is probably overkill. The lights on this
car dont flicker, blink, or anything when playing the system. The stereo system has several fuses in the lines for safety
to you, the car, and the system. The car does still retain the spare tire under the dimond plate cover in the trunk.

*****THE YELLOW TOP BATTERY IN THE TRUCK IS GOING TO BE REPLACED WITH A NEW STANDARD BATTERY!****

  now for the cons:
the nose of the car has some small stone chips in it. not many. also there are some barely noticeable stress cracks in the
fiberglass. A cart I beleive scratched the back in a small area by the fuel door. (a pro, This car has no dents at
all. I showed that in the pictures). the left side mirror glass was replaced after falling out with a cut to fit which
is split around the edges. thats an inexpensive replacement, 5 dollars or less. the head liner is sagging in one spot
due to me rushing to finish the head liner for the last show it was in. again, easy fix. some areas on the back deck, and
seat belt still need to be painted black and the sun visors arent finished. I beleive thats it and as I said the car is
95 % finished! this car runs great, is great on gas, and has never given me a problem after the motor was replaced. its a
head turner all day! Its a conversation starter also. Ive had people ask what kind of car is it? who makes it? etc.

Im selling this car and my truck because I want a new toy. Im in the market for a Corvette and dont have the room to keep
them or the money. Oh, the car also has LED light bars inside under the dash that flash in sinc with the exterior lights.
Im seeling this car for a reserve price of $5500. OBO. A $500 dollar non refundable deposit is required at this auctions
end so serious bidders inquire. I AM OPEN TO BEST OFFERS so send me a message and it will be considered. I reserve the
right to end this auction at any time due to the car being sold locally also. I am also willing to take the car up to 30
miles to meet a buyer with an addition 25 dollars for my gas and time. any questions feel free to send me a message
and happy bidding.

Destiny: General Motors should bring back Pontiac

Wed, Apr 26 2017

Despite having officially left the market in 2010, the Pontiac badge is still a common sight on roadways throughout the United States. Towards the end of its life, Pontiac models were largely rebadged versions of other General Motors vehicles, like the Pontiac G5 and Chevrolet Cobalt. It's sad, but there's no other way to put it; Pontiac was a mere shadow of its former self at the time of its death. Now it's time to revive the legendary brand. General Motors announced it would be reviving the Redline series, a package that originated with Saturn, another dead brand, earlier this year. Some models, like the Chevrolet Camaro will receive unique cosmetic touches designed to make it look even sportier, something Pontiac excelled at in most cases. Gas prices have fallen dramatically in the past few years and consumers have taken notice. Sales of fuel efficient cars, like hybrids and compact sedans, aren't increasing at the same rate as larger, less efficient vehicles, like trucks and SUVs. Muscle cars, like the Ford Mustang, are seeing increasing sales as well. Perhaps it's time to revive Pontiac and restore the marque to its former glory: a brand that brought performance and style at an affordable price. There are currently few manufacturers that offer a true challenge to high-performance automakers like BMW. The German brand continues to see high sales year after year and performance has a lot to do with it. Brand recognition, namely through the BMW badge, plays a major role as well. Pontiac, arguably one of the most well-known brands to ever grace the industry, can match both factors with ease. Pontiac was once revered as a brand that revolutionized the muscle car segment in the 1970s and 1980s. It still has a lively following throughout enthusiast spheres and amongst drivers of all ages to this day. Reviving the brand with a small line of high-performance vehicles would certainly offer a challenge to dominating German brands. A small lineup of affordable vehicles bearing the Pontiac badge and designed for performance and style would certainly make waves in the current market. Reviving a few older nameplates, such as the GTO and Trans Am, would offer nostalgic appeal. Packing both models with a powerful entry-level engine, say the Camaro's turbocharged four-cylinder or V6 engine, would open up the market considerably.

General Lee takes on Bandit T/A in classic Hollywood car showdown [w/poll]

Fri, 26 Aug 2011

You don't have to be born in the 1960s or 1970s to be able to recognize the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard and the Pontiac Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. These old school four-wheeled stars seem to transcend demographics thanks to the miles of film that show the orange 1969 Dodge Charger and the jet-black 1977 Pontiac Trans Am performing seemingly impossible stunts.
The folks at Hot Rod magazine are obviously hip to this fact, and they put together a fun video in tribute of the instantly recognizable duo. Hit the jump to watch on as Sam Young and James Smith replace Bo Duke and The Bandit for a bit of dirt-road shenanigans in a pair of otherwise well cared for classics. We're not so sure we'd call it the best chase scene ever, but it sure looks like a lot of fun.
More importantly, which of these two cars would you rather own? Have your say in our poll below.

Check out the official 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition commercial

Sat, 16 Mar 2013

The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.
