2001 Pontiac Aztek Black Fwd on 2040-cars
Mount Vernon, Illinois, United States
Back window is missing from rock Passenger mirror is missing from trampoline getting blown into the passenger side A few dents/scratches on passenger side from trampoline Driver side door/front driver side fender have scratches from a barbed wire fence Front passenger side door window does not work, due to someone previously drilling hole through front passenger side floorboard Needs new battery does take jump start Back license plate light is hanging Interior stains on floor board/seats lots of places Smoker owned vehicle, doesn't seem to smell like smoke No bad/stinky odors Locks must be manually locked/unlocked Normal wear/tear interior/exterior Dashboard coming apart about an inch Air conditioner condenser + compressor was replaced about 4 years ago Rotors replaced about a year and a half ago Something to do with the timing belt and overheating was fixed about a year ago, wasn't cheap Tires about 75% tread Will be needing an oil change Heat and air conditioning work Radio/CD Player works Has clear title. This car ran fine with no known mechanical issues up to the battery dying. Which was a couple of months ago. The car has been jump started and moved a few times for mowing. Car was running just fine up until the battery dieing. Buyer should take vehicle for mechanical inspection upon buying for safety and maintenance. I am not sure if this vehicle has a 204 or 207 cu engine or if it has the Base Trim or GT Trim. I have described this vehicle to the best of my knowledge. Please message me with any questions. I jumped started the car Friday, July 18th last week. I drove it 10 miles, had it at 70mph once as well, and it still runs good just like it did before the battery died. The air conditioner blows strong and cold. It does have a Kenwood CD player in it and the radio works. I have a receipt from 8/13/13 for a serpentine belt. I also have a receipt for a intake gasket replacement. The exact mileage is 173,278. I noticed a dent on the roof, nothing that matters, but thought I'd mention it. It must have been from the trampoline as well. Basically with just simply a back window and passenger mirror this car will be good to go. Plus your oil change and possible alignment. We do not need two vehicles or to pay for insurance on two vehicles. We bought a 01 F-150 less than a year ago with very low miles for our new main vehicle. We stopped driving the Aztek when the battery died 2-3 months ago because we did not want to pay for a new battery and oil changes etc to maintain a car we really don't need. The car has been jump started a few times to move for mowing. And the 10 mile drive I took it on. Now we are finally selling it after having owned it since 2007. The winning bidder is more than welcome to test drive the car, listen to the engine, test the air conditioning, or even take it by a shop in town for a check at your own expense if you would like before completing the transaction. As I do not want to sell a car that is junk. I am not a mechanic but as far as I can tell this car runs fine with no mechanical issues. USED VEHICLE -- Please keep in mind that you are bidding on a used vehicle and we strongly encourage you NOT TO BID if you’re uncomfortable with purchasing a used vehicle that may require mechanical and/or cosmetic work. Being Sold “As-Is” with “No Warranty”. |

There's a 'Knight Rider' movie in development
Mon, Aug 17 2020James Wan, who has directed films from the first "Saw" to "Aquaman," with "Furious 7" in between, and produced even more projects, is producing a new Knight Rider movie according to a report in Deadline. Just in case there's a reader who doesn't know, Knight Rider was one of the seminal trio of iconic-car shows from the 1980s, along with "The Dukes of Hazzard" and "Miami Vice." The series lasted 90 episodes that ran from 1982 to 1986, following the crime-fighting exploits of Michael Knight, a man who crusaded for justice after being shot in the face. Billionaire Walton Knight hired Michael to work with the Knight Foundation, where Michael helps develop the Knight Industries Two Thousand, a Pontiac Trans-Am with AI that can talk, drive more than 200 miles per hour, and could teach MI6's Q Branch about gadgetry. Collider described David Hasselhof's Michael Knight as "crimefighter by trade and wearing-a-leather-jacket-with-no-shirt-underneath innovator by hobby." The show made such an impression that there was a series spinoff called "Code of Justice," two TV movies in 1991 and 1994, a convention called KnightCon, and a series reboot on NBC that lasted for one season from 2008 to 2009, as well as stores full of action figures and models and literature, YouTube fan-made trailers and movies, and this wacky German-dubbed short "Knight Rider" film starring Hasselhoff. We don't know anything about the new movie's plot yet, other than that it's set in the present. T.J. Fixman, better known for now as a video game writer who worked on franchises like "Ratchet and Clank" and "Resistance: Fall of Man," has been attached to write, with a mandate to keep "the anti-establishment tone of the original." With matters still early in development there's no telling when the movie will hit theaters, and Wan's probably got his hands busy with the new MacGuyver reboot for CBS, anyway. Now that there's already been a Knight Industries 2000 and 3000, that gives us plenty of time to imagine — in a world where 200-mph hypercars powered by everything sprout like weeds and even Cannonballers are using military-like equipment — what would a Knight Industries Four Thousand possess? And would it be called KIFT? Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
Saturn Vue ignition switch leads to new group of GM recalls totaling 312k
Fri, 08 Aug 2014General Motors has another spate of recalls to announce. This time they cover 312,280 vehicles worldwide, including 269,041 of in the US, in a total of six campaigns. In 2014, the automaker has recalled 29,079,765 vehicles worldwide, with 25,754,356 of those in the US.
The largest among them covers 215,243 units of the Saturn Vue from 2002-2004 model years worldwide, 202,115 in the US. It's possible for the for the key to be removed even when the ignition isn't in the OFF position. The company knows of two crashes and one injury caused by this problem. Dealers are checking the parts and replacing the ignition cylinder and key set, if necessary.
Next is 72,826 models worldwide (48,059 vehicles in the US) of the 2013 Cadillac ATS four-door sedan, 2013 Buick Encore and 2013 Chevy Trax in Canada. It's possible that the for lap belt pretensioner to retract but not to lock, which could increase occupant movement during a crash. Both front, outboard lap belt pretensioners are being replaced, and a stop-sale is in effect on unsold models until the problem is repaired. There are no known crashes or injuries, though.
Junkyard Gem: 1987 Pontiac Safari Station Wagon
Tue, Aug 9 2016During the 1960s and 1970s, station wagons based on full-sized Detroit sedans were the default family haulers, and many of those Kingswood Estates and Country Squires and Ambassadors came with unapologetically phony woodgrain-printed exterior paneling and trim. By the late 1980s, however, few were snapping up such wagons, making this '87 Safari that I spotted in a Denver yard an interesting find. Power for this wagon came from a 307-cubic-inch Oldsmobile V8 making 140 horsepower. General Motors used this engine in Buicks, Oldsmobiles, Chevrolets, Pontiacs, and Cadillacs, finally discontinuing production for the 1990 model year. Was the "wood" convincing, even when new? Of course not, but it was a cherished American tradition. Related Video: Featured Gallery 1987 Pontiac Safari station wagon in Colorado junkyard View 18 Photos Auto News Pontiac station wagon
