I love this car, but I work from home now and rarely drive it anymore. This one has the 'Roadster' package, meaning it has a 5-speed manual transmission, manual windows and locks, and Roadster brake/clutch/gas pedals. It does have AC which blows ice cold and has Monsoon sound; 7 speakers with bass. CD/MP3, Aux port, Sirius XM ready. Car is in excellent condition. Soft top is perfect, interior is perfect. Carpet is clean, no stains. No kids, no pets in this car. There are a couple of flaws; a slight dent near the passenger side rear wheel, but paintless dent removal should take care of this. The Pontiac emblem in front has a chipped tip and the driver door handle plastic trim is loose but works. It will need tires this year. My car has always been dealer serviced, and I take great care of it. I have both car keys and title is clean."

Regretfully, I must sell my 2007 Pontiac Solstice convertible. I am the original and only owner of the car, which has low mileage of around 46,000 miles. These miles have been primarily long trips; Vegas, San Francisco, Palm Springs/Coachella.

My car has always been dealer serviced, and I take great care of it. However, I will no longer have covered parking for the car, and want to sell it rather than see it deteriorate on the street.

Car is in excellent condition. Soft top is perfect, interior is perfect. Carpet is clean, no stains. No kids, no pets in this car. There are a couple of flaws; a slight dent near the passenger side rear wheel, but paintless dent removal should take care of this. The Pontiac emblem in front has a chipped tip (this is why I dont want to park it on the street...) and the driver door handle plastic trim is loose but works as expected and car locks securely. A new handle and a new Pontiac emblem can be found for $22 and $19 respectively and are easy to replace. It will need tires this year, and the registration is currently out of date -- I've been out of town frequently, just don't drive the car very much and it lapsed.

Taking these issues into account I am pricing the vehicle at $10,500. I've seen other Solstices with low mileage like mine going for much more , so if you are willing to take care of a few things, you'll have yourself a great deal. When I do drive the car, I drive it exactly as is and there have been no problems. Despite some cosmetic issues there are no mechanical defects. It's never stranded me in a strange place.

I'd be happy to show you the car and have it inspected by your mechanic of choice. I want the car to go to a caring home, I love this car and will really miss it. I have both car keys and the title is clean.

GM Recalls 1.5 Million Cars For Steering Defect

Tue, Apr 1 2014

General Motors Co. said Monday it is recalling 1.5 million vehicles worldwide because the electronic power-steering assist can suddenly stop working, making them harder to steer. The new recall brings to 6.3 million the number of vehicles GM has recalled since February. The initial recall - now at 2.6 million small cars for an ignition switch defect - prompted the automaker to name a new safety chief and speed up the review of cases that might lead to recalls. GM said it expects recall-related costs to total $750 million in the first quarter, including $300 million for the ignition switch recall. Included in the new recall are: - Chevrolet Malibu from the 2004-2005 model years, plus some 2006, 2008 and 2009 model-year cars. - Chevrolet Malibu Maxx from the 2004-2005 model years, plus some 2006 model-year cars. - Chevrolet HHR from the 2009-2010 model years (non-turbocharged only). - Some Chevrolet Cobalts from the 2010 model year. - Some Saturn Auras from the 2008-2009 model years. - Saturn Ion from the 2004-2007 model years. - Pontiac G6 from the 2005 model year, plus some cars from the 2006, 2008 and 2009 model years. - Service parts installed into certain vehicles before May 31, 2010, under a previous recall GM says no deaths related to the defect have been reported. It is still investigating whether there have been any accidents or injuries related to the problem. GM dealers will replace the power steering motor and other parts for free. Spokesman Alan Adler said owners will be notified of the recall the week of April 28 and will be told when parts are available after that. The Cobalt and the Ion, which are also involved in the ignition switch recall, share many common parts.GM recalled Cobalts from the 2005-2010 model years for the power steering defect in 2010, but it's unclear why the company didn't recall the Ion at the same time. Federal regulators also opened an investigation into power steering complaints in the Ion in 2010, but didn't order a recall. Pontiac Firebird in latest Generation Gap scrap

Tue, 30 Sep 2014

Generation Gap is mining the Lingenfelter collection again this week to compare two very different interpretations of the Pontiac Firebird. An original 1968 example goes toe-to-toe with a 2010 Lingenfelter Trans Am to see whether the old man or the modern re-imagining takes the crown.
Being from the Lingenfelter collection, both cars are absolutely immaculate. The '68 packs a Pontiac 350-cubic-inch (5.7-liter) V8 with a claimed 320 horsepower and some classic, muscular style with a hood-mounted tach. Plus, it's painted in an understated shade of green that you don't usually see.
In the other corner is Lingenfelter's pumped-up take on the classic shape based on the modern Camaro, and this is just one of six concept versions ever made. It wears an eye-catching, vintage-inspired livery of blue with a white stripe package. Under its shaker hood is a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 with a reported 655 hp and 610 pound-feet of torque.

German prosecutors have recorded calls between VW bigwigs talking dieselgate

Thu, Mar 21 2019

It's barely possible to believe how poorly Volkswagen continues to handle dieselgate. Depending on which day you catch the news, the German carmaker embodies the corporate venality of "Michael Clayton," the comic blundering of the Coen Brothers' "Burn After Reading," and the every-man-for-himself vengeance of "Reservoir Dogs." Today is Tarantino day, with news that German prosecutors have recordings of phone calls between former Audi and Porsche development boss Wolfgang Hatz, ex-Volkswagen Group executive Matthias Muller, and current Porsche executives Oliver Blume and Michael Steiner. Hatz made the calls to the trio in November 2015, two months after Volkswagen admitted its diesel-particulate sins to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Hatz was still employed at the time, and in his company car. Who recorded the calls? His wife. Hatz and his missus apparently saw the storm coming and started stacking defenses early. Hatz's wife, who can be heard encouraging Hatz during at least one call, sent the recordings to Hatz's attorney from her mobile phone. According to a Google translation of the German newspaper Handelsblatt's report, she included the note, "Here is a very long, but quite informative conversation on the current situation with useful formulations." The report in Handelsblatt said that in Germany it is generally "not allowed" to record a conversation and pass it on to a third party. We don't know how the authorities will handle this matter, since prosecutors found the recordings in e-mail attachments on Mrs. Hatz's mobile phone. Remember, when the diesel scandal broke, VW spent months saying that only a small number of low-level personnel were behind it, and all of the higher-ups had been blindsided. Ex-CEO Martin Winterkorn claimed to be "stunned that misconduct on such a scale was possible in the Volkswagen Group." Winterkorn successor Matthias Muller said, "according to current information, a few developers interfered in the engine management." Former VW USA honcho Michael Horn told a congressional committee that "a couple of software engineers" programmed the software for reasons no one could understand. In the recorded conversations, Hatz apparently called Muller to find out how VW planned to treat him.
