Less than 2000 miles on rebuilt motor and overdrive transmission.  ---- strong and reliable. Daily driven.

This is my a 1969 convertible Pontiac Lemans.  I was 3/4 of the way fixing her up when I was laid off. So I can’t finish it. But it doesn't need much now.  But what has been done is the following.

The motor has been professionally rebuilt  by Jasper Motors with the emphasis on reliability and performance.  A performance cam...Crane cam 454 lift and a 270 duration, so its not bad on gas but you can burn rubber. Also, the valve train has roller rockers and stud locks. Engine runs great, reliable and runs cool. I drive it daily, in traffic and on the freeway.

It has a performance OVERDRIVE automatic transmission,
200R4 with a B&M shifter ..... At 80 miles an hour the engine is only turning 2400 RPM’s Great for Gas mileage, An older car but with a modern overdrive transmission to bring her into the new era of better engine life and MPG!
The paint job was done about a year ago. and descent for what I could afford. There are a few nicks and scratches here and there but looks nice.
Bushings replaced when the car was lowered and the rest of the suspension is nice and tight.
NEW ! POWER Disc brakes installed up front , slotted and drilled. Break lines redone.
Rear brakes rebuilt with less than 2000 miles on them.
New fuel lines, pump and Gas tank plumbed for EFI if desired in the future.
New AUTOGAGE instrument gauges, all work.
The car has been lowered 2" . Tires up front are brand new. Rears have less than 2000 miles on them.
The car has just been aligned. Brand new shocks.  All glass is good/ Windows roll up and down.
The car is mechanically a great car and I was then going to concentrate on the interior but then I got laid off.

I wanted the car to be a great reliable driver first and that is what it is now. Drives great. Sounds like the 60's with the custom exhaust.

Here’s what I would have done and or needs doing:
Drive it as it is or...

The convertible top canvas needs replacing( I have a replacement header bow that comes with the car). Also the top was working fine up until a week ago. Probably a fuse. I have not replaced it. So I just manually do it. The interior upholstery is dirty and has nicks and a tear on one of the seats. Carpet has been cut to install the shifter. I would replace it.
Dash cracked from sun. No radio. Car has a few little little rust spots  but not real noticeable. In the trunk lower side panel on the left side has rust but not noticeable from outside vehicle ( panel can be replaced if you cared to) Drivers door lock sometimes doesn’t work. May need lubricating?  I was inspecting  it and that is why the door panel inside is missing.  I didn’t put it back on cause I always intended to replace the interior. I through it out. Turn signal unit in steering column needs replacing BUT I have a brand new unit to go in that comes with car. Easy install.
The Endura bumper could be fitter better...the body to bumper gaps are a little wider than I would like, but it looks good overall.
__________________________________________________________________
ALL THE HARD WORK IS DONE.. I tried to describe the car as best I can and with what I know. But I encourage buyers to ask as many questions as you have.

And also included in the auction...

I have a red Chevelle (1968 A body) seat upholstery kit un-used that will come with the car ( front and rear seats and front and rear door panels, with side arm rest, conv. well covers and rear side panels...and a red carpet ) I got as a deal from a guy who never installed it in his car. I was going to install it in mine, but I never got around to it. So I will include it in the auction. Or you can just sell the red interior and get your own if you want.

PAYMENT:Non Refundable Deposit of 500.00 due with in 24 hours paid via Paypal. And a balance to be paid by Cashiers check with in 7 days.

I’m not a dealer so car is sold AS IS, no warranty implied or stated. Prefer you pick it up but I will ship it at owners expense. I know some shippers and the cost varies such as 600 dollars to 1500.00, maybe more depending on location.   My zip code is 93001, Ventura, California.

GM Recalling Another 2.7 Million Vehicles In Five Separate Campaigns

Thu, May 15 2014

The recalls keep rolling in from General Motors, evidently keen to avoid repeating the mistakes of the ignition-switch debacle and clean house. This time they're all coming at once, with five separate recalls announced together covering approximately 2.7 million vehicles. The largest of the five actions involves over 2.4 million units of the previous-generation Chevrolet Malibu and Malibu Maxx, Pontiac G6 and Saturn Aura in order to fix brake light wiring harness, which have been found to be susceptible to corrosion. The recall is separate from the 56k Aura sedans which GM recently recalled over faulty shift cables, not to mention the previous massive recall of 1.3 million vehicles – some of them the same models – but appears to have resulted from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation that started with the G6 almost a year ago. The second-largest campaign involves the 2014 Chevy Malibu, specifically those fitted with GM's 2.5-liter engine and stop/start system, approximately 140,000 examples of which has been found to have problematic brakes. The issue does not appear to be connected to the recall of 8k Malibu and Buick LaCrosse sedans (also involving brake woes) which we reported upon last week. Four crashes have been reported in such models, but GM admits it's not yet clear if the problem was a contributing factor in the accidents. A further 112k Corvette models from the 2005-2007 model years are being called in for problems with their low-beam headlamps resulting from a flexing relay control circuit wire that's not meant to bend. GM says it is "aware of several hundred complaints" about this issue, but notes that there have been no reports of related accidents. In addition, over 19k examples of Cadillac CTS from the 2013 and 2014 model years are being recalled over windshield wipers that might not work after a jump start. Finally, GM is also bringing in 477 examples of its 2014 Chevy Silverado, Tahoe and GMC Sierra (though not the Yukon) to fix a problem with a tie rod in its steering rack. As ever, all recall repairs will be performed free of charge, and GM is now estimating that recall-related actions this quarter will result in an estimated $200-million charge against its second-quarter earnings. GM replacing passenger airbags in over 243,000 Pontiac Vibes

Sat, Jun 20 2015

General Motors is repairing over 243,000 additional examples of the 2003-2007 Pontiac Vibe in the US and Canada to replace their Takata-supplied passenger-side airbag inflators. The company has no reports of irregular deployments in the models, though. These aren't actually newly included vehicles in the massive safety campaign. As a twin to the Toyota Matrix, the Vibe was already included in Toyota's figures, but as Pontiac-branded vehicles, GM dealers are taking care of these replacements. They have been covered as part of the Takata campaign in the past. Toyota expanded its own Takata recall to passenger-side components for 1.365 million vehicles on June 16. Earlier, General Motors also issued a campaign for 330,198 examples of the 2007 and 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD, 3500HD, GMC Sierra 2500HD, and 3500HD pickups to replace their passenger-side parts. After exposure to moisture, it's possible for these inflators to ignite too quickly in an accident and spray shrapnel at occupants. GM Statement The Vibes are included in two Toyota recall campaigns - one for high absolute humidity (HAH) areas and one for non-HAH areas. Both are considered national recalls even though only vehicles in certain HAH states and territories are in the recall. Total Pontiac Vibe passenger air bag numbers for MY 2003-2007 (U.S. and Canada only): High Absolute Humidity 89,719 Non High Absolute Humidity areas 252,685 These are the totals, which include about 99,000 previously recalled. GM knows of no field issues - irregular deployments - with these air bag inflators.

General Motors Recalls Nearly 780,000 Cars To Fix Deadly Problem

Thu, Feb 13 2014

General Motors is recalling nearly 780,000 compact cars in North America because the engines can shut down unexpectedly and cause crashes. The company says six people have been killed in crashes related to the problem. The recall affects Chevrolet Cobalts and Pontiac G5s from the 2005 through 2007 model years. U.S. safety regulators say the weight of the key ring and rough roads can move the ignition switch out of the run position, cutting the engine and electricity. If that happens, air bags may not work. GM says there have been 22 crashes from the problem. All happened at high speeds. Dealers will replace the ignition switch for free. GM says owners should remove nonessential items from key rings until the problem is fixed.
