Up for auction is a 2005 Pontiac GTO A4 6.0L V8 400hp with only 64,xxx miles. This car is very rare having blue leather seats that match the blue exterior of the car, as well as blue gauges and blue trim inside. With the blue on blue, automatic transmission, and 17in wheels, this is 1 of 228 made (who knows how many are still around?). This car has treated me very well over the years and I hate to sell it but it impractical for my lifestyle now. It does fairly well in snow and ice for having so much torque and being rear-wheel drive. Everything in the car works well, and it is never a boring drive! The car has all original equipment including floor mats, spare tire equipment, owners manual/CD, etc. It does have an aftermarket air intake, and I will also include the original air intake and all the pieces that came with the car. Also, a bag of spare lug nut caps. I get compliments on this car nearly everywhere I go. It turns heads, and will give you chills just knowing you are behind this beauty! I get about 18 mpg city, and the last trip I took on the interstate at over 200 miles (including 3 mountain passes here in MT) i averaged 24mpg. Clear title ready to be transferred to your name.

It has a 6-disc in-dash CD changer, automatic headlight, programable light timers/door locks, gauges that tell average mpg, avg speed, amount of fuel used and how much further you can go on the fuel left in tank. Traction control, power leather seats, power door locks. Key/fob. Bucket Seats, rear spoiler, dual exhaust, fog lamps, and much more.

This car is used, and I tried to include photos of the few flaws it has, but it is in very nice condition and has been del taken car of. It has only used Mobil1 engine oil and been changed every 4-6,000 miles. At 30,xxx and 61,xxx (just recently) the transmission was flushed at a certified GM dealer. There are a few small scuffs that can be buffed out above the rear passenger wheel, and some paint chips on the front bumper from normal highway use. About five years ago the car was rear ended and got a new rear bumper (covered by insurance) with NO other damage done to trunk or taillights etc. The interior has been well kept up (the blue leather and suede are my favorite) but there is a small separation at the seam of the driver seat. No torn leather, just the seam.

Thanks! and happy bidding!

Best and Worst GM Cars

Thu, Apr 7 2022

Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded.  While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.

AMC Trans Am Javelin SST, an ultra-rare underdog, is up for auction

Sat, Sep 9 2023

Among the rarest of the American muscle cars that went racing in the early Seventies — cars including the Camaro Z/28 and the Boss 302 Mustang — the 1970 AMC Trans Am Javelin SST may be the most hard to find, and among the most valuable. Only 100 units of this unique Javelin were produced, and one of them is up for auction at the Mecum event in Dallas on September 20. The Trans Am Javelin was fashioned in a patriotic livery of tricolor paint — red, white and blue — and arrived after the American Motors Corporation had decided in 1968 to compete in the Trans Am racing series against Ford and General Motors. The company's chief driver, Mark Donohue, would dominate the 1971 season, taking seven wins in his Javelin AMX and that yearÂ’s SCCA Trans-Am Championship. AMC took the trophy with 82 points, well ahead of Ford's 61, Chevrolet's 17 and Pontiac's paltry 7. The example listed for auction came equipped with a 390-cubic-inch V-8 engine with 325 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 420 pound-feet of torque, power steering and brakes, dual exhaust, BorgWarner four-speed manual transmission and Hurst competition shifter. Its “ram induction system” sealed a chamber around the air filter so that cool air from the functional hood scoop would be funneled into the intake. This JavÂ’s factory price was $3,995 — a mere $32,000 or so in today's money, though it was expensive by the standards of the time. The 100 Trans Ams were among 19,714 Javelin units built in 1970, so they started out rare, and today the surviving examples are highly collectible, if and when they come up for sale. No bid estimate is available yet. Related Video: Motorsports Chevrolet Ford Pontiac Auctions Automotive History Racing Vehicles Classics

Looking back at Oprah's free-car giveaway 10 years later

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

Oprah kicked off her 19th season in dramatic fashion by giving all 276 members of the studio audience a free car.
Molly Vielweber's Pontiac G6 appears unremarkable at first glance. It wears forest green paint, rolls on five-spoke aluminum wheels, and it has a sizeable scrape in the driver's side door, the scar of a decade's worth of hard use. You wouldn't notice it parked at a big box store or cruising on the highway. Pontiac made hundreds of thousands of G6s in the 2000s, and a lot are still on the road. It's unremarkable in every way except for the front license plate, which reads, "Oprah 6."
