Fully Restored 1967 Gto, 400 Cu In, 3 Spd Auto Near Flawless Paint And Chrome on 2040-cars
Cincinnati, Ohio, United States
I bought this car last year from a man who restored it a few years ago, but had since lost his license due to vision impairment. I love it, but I have bought too many cars and can't really keep all of them. He had recently restored this GTO with a beautiful $12,000 paint job, new or re-plated chrome and polished stainless, restored or new rally wheels, bias ply white letter tires, and new interior. (It was originally Cameo white with a red interior) He had a performance shop rebuild the engine with a mild cam. It has been driven regularly, but very little, since the restoration, and was always stored in the garage. Since I bought it, I had the transmission completely rebuilt by a shop I have known for 30 plus years because I did not like the way it shifted. The only other things we fixed were a split rubber fuel line connection and a battery.
I have many receipts and photos of his restoration, as well as the receipts for my work. You are welcome to inspect anything you want. I am happy to answer any questions you may have. I have many more HI-RES photos available by email - just ask This is a beautiful car to drive. It gets a lot of smiles and "thumbs up" everywhere you go. People just love the car! Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day
Thu, 07 Jun 2012Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.
GM recalling another 1.3-million cars over power steering woes
Mon, 31 Mar 2014When it rains, it pours. General Motors has announced yet another major recall, covering 1.3 million units in the American market over concerns that the power steering could suddenly fail. As reported by The Detroit News' David Shepardson, GM has now recalled nearly ten times as many cars as it did all of last year.
It's important to note that should this problem arise in these cars, the steering won't fail completely, however, power steering could suddenly stop functioning. Manual steering would still be possible, but as GM says, there's an increased risk of accidents, particularly at lower speeds.
Like the ignition switch recall, this latest problem covers a wide range of vehicles from Chevrolet, Saturn and Pontiac. Normally, we'd give you the full rundown in paragraph form, but the variety of models and model years means a list is just easier. So, have a look, directly from GM's press release:
Automakers tussle over owners of 'orphan' makes
Thu, 10 May 2012When General Motors put down several of its brands in recent years, it also let loose thousands of brand-loyal customers who will eventually need another car.
R.L. Polk Associates estimates there are more than 18 million cars from 16 discontinued makes on the road today. Those "orphan owners" have sales-hungry competitors seeing dollar signs. GM is offering Saturn owners $1,000 cash toward a Chevy Cruze, Cadillac CTS or a GMC Acadia. Ford is giving its Mercury lease customers a chance to get out of their contracts with no early-termination penalty and offering to waive six remaining payments if they drive off in a Ford or Lincoln.
Edmunds.com research shows the efforts are paying off somewhat for GM, with 39 percent of Pontiac owners, 37 percent of Hummer owners and 31 percent of Saturn owners taking delivery of another GM-branded vehicle. But that leaves as much as 69 percent of owners going elsewhere. Ford, Honda and Toyota seem to be attracting many former GM owners.
