All Original #'s Matching! 400 Cu In. W/ Auto Trans & Dual Gate Shifter on 2040-cars
New Lenox, Illinois, United States
THIS CAR IS A SURVIVOR!!! Extremely original numbers matching 1967 GTO Hardtop in Gulf Turquoise with Turquoise interior. The car was ordered heater delete. It was built in Freemont, California and shipped to Hawaii. The correct dash blockoff plate has never been touched and the firewall cover is still in its place from the factory. This is an extremely rare option. I have never seen another 1967 GTO with heater delete. Interior - is unmolested and is in excellent condition. The dash pad is perfect. The dash has its normal wear experienced during the last 47 years but is in excellent shape. I would like to stress that the interior has been virtually untouched since the car rolled off the assembly line. The headliner could use a little work but is not in need of replacement. The seat belts are clean and original in perfect working order. The steering wheel has the normal cracks seen in these types of cars. It still has the original am radio from the factory. The console shows signs of the veneer (sticker - which I have a replacement) peeling slightly due to age. The car has the optional Hurst Dual Gate controlling the original Turbo 400 transmission. Paint - This car is very solid. I believe it has had one repaint during its lifetime. It has a few blemishes and bumps but nothing major in any way. There two small places where the paint has bubbled. I have owned the car 16 years and received it in this condition, if any corrosion were going to happen it would have happened by now. There are two places on the right front quarter panel where the paint is chipped. The car has never seen snow and rarely even rain, always been kept garaged and covered. Chrome - Overall the chrome is in excellent shape. The bumpers show the perils of being a daily driver during part of its life. Undercarriage - was undercoated from the factory and has not been touched. The frame and floors are rock solid with no rust. The gas tank is original, never being off the car. The car has new 2 1/2 inch exhaust with Flowmaster 40s. The car has headers, but included in the sale are the original cast iron exhaust manifolds. They can be seen in the pictures of the trunk. These were media blasted and painted in high heat grey. They were also extrude honed to clean up the air flow. I must stress they are original to the car. Suspension - has been redone including new ball joints, shocks, springs and tires. The rear end is stock with a 3.90 gear set from the factory. The rear diff cover has never been off. The brakes were redone using stock components. They are four wheel drum and stop very well.
Engine - is as bone stock as they come. It is a 335 horse 400. The Quadrajet, intake, distributor, pulleys, and heads, are all original to the car. There are no underhood components missing from the factory install. This car is complete. I had the engine rebuilt 5000 miles ago by a professional rebuilder and it runs like factory. No issues here. The car starts, runs and idles like it was new. When the engine was rebuilt the heads were treated to a valve job including hardened valve seats for use with today’s lead free fuel. I have the original air cleaner and it will come with the car. It is in excellent condition as well. The radiator was reconditioned during this time. As you can see, the correct fan shroud is in place. There is nothing missing from this car. The original flywheel was replaced last year. It failed resulting in a half moon being clipped out of it by the starter due to age. Transmission - is the correct and original Turbo 400 that came with the car. It was treated to a rebuild and a shift improver kit when the engine was rebuilt. It also has 5000 miles on it since being rebuilt. The shifts are crisp and solid. The Body Tag decodes as follows: ST 67-242217 67=1967 2=Pontiac 42=GTO 17=2 door hardtop BF=Fremont California 220=interior code (turquoise) K=lower paint (Gulf Turquoise Metallic) K=same as above 01236=sequential unit number
Mileage - Since the engine was rebuilt, the engine and transmission have approximately 5000 miles on them. The new suspension components, exhaust, and tires have even less. In conclusion, what we have here is a very original 1967 GTO. Driving it in this original condition is like a flashback to the 1960's. The new owner has the choice to restore it to concourse condition, or drive it across the country. It is that dependable. I must stress that this car has a rebuilt engine and transmission that run perfectly. It also has new tires, ball joints, springs, shocks, exhaust, and a rebuilt original radiator. This car is a driver and a great candidate for a complete restoration. It is missing nothing that it didn’t roll off the assembly line with or in this case, without. That would be the heater delete. Good luck bidding!

Want to buy a worst-in-show-winning Faux Ferrari Fiero?
Mon, Aug 31 2020UPDATE: This heap sold for $5,001. But don't fret, there are more terrible cars out there for the taking if that's your thing. Today we bring you something truly terrible. It's not just a fake Ferrari built on the guts of an old Pontiac Fiero, it's actually the world's worst fake Ferrari built on the guts of an old Pontiac Fiero. And it's got the award from the Concours d'Lemons to prove it. It's so heinous, in fact, that it has somehow managed to become desirable, at least judging by the bidding history of this bright red affront to Maranello. Powered by a 140-horsepower 2.8-liter V6 engine (covered by an unconvincing and broken fake V12 cover) hooked to an automatic gearbox, this gloriously poor Prancing Horse won't be winning many stoplight drag races. There are bundles of stray wires hanging down from the dashboard, it has high mileage, most of its lights don't work, and it's ugly. Like, really ugly. And to top it off, this Fauxrarri can't currently be registered in its home state of California because it has failed its most recent smog test. Put simply, you're looking at a total piece of junk. But a piece of junk with internet notoriety, having been featured on an episode of Jay Leno's Garage after attending the 2019 Quail Motorsports Gathering — by mistake at first, and then earning a special place next to the porta potties — being the focus of a video series on YouTube and winning the aforementioned ribbon for Worst in Show at Lemons. Somehow, bidding has topped $4,000 at the time of this writing. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Junkyard Gem: 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP
Tue, Jun 19 2018For General Motors, the W platform just kept giving and giving and giving for decade after decade, serving as the basis of Buick Regals, Oldsmobile Intrigues, Chevrolet Monte Carlos, and many, many more models. The final and most powerful Pontiac W-Body, the sixth-generation Grand Prix GTP, rolled off assembly lines for the 1997 through 2003 model years. Here's one in a Northern California self-service wrecking yard. GM bolted the supercharged 3800 V6 into vast numbers of cars during this era, providing a deep reservoir of cheap blowers for unwise high-boost projects. 240 front-tire-charring horses, complete with a Roots-type blower scream from the Eaton supercharger under the hood. I see plenty of blown 3800s during my junkyard travels, from the Bonneville SSEi to the Oldsmobile LSS. Depressingly, GM stopped putting manual transmissions in the Grand Prix during the 1993 model year, so '01 GTP owners had to take the four-speed slushbox. This one came close to the magic 200,000-mile mark, but fell 25,000 short. The interior took a beating during its life, ending its time on the road with shredded upholstery and dirty panels. Seven-band graphic equalizers were all the rage during the 1980s, but GM kept the tradition alive into our current century. This content is hosted by a third party. BMX rider flips for wrecked Detroit football stadium
Fri, Jun 12 2015Detroit is littered with derelict ruins. Abandoned automotive assembly plants, sure – but also former sports venues, like Tiger Stadium in Corktown, Roesink Stadium in Hamtramck, and the Silverdome in Pontiac. BMX rider Tyler Fernengel remembers going to see the Lions and Pistons play at the Silverdome in his youth, and competed there in Supercross as a boy. The stadium hasn't been used in years, but now, with his career just picking up, Tyler has returned to film this video – riding through its halls, jumping its stairwells and flipping over its grandstands and field. It's a fitting tribute to a once-great venue of suburban Michigan. Check out the footage in this latest clip from Red Bull.
