This is my 2006 Pontiac GTO. It is phantom black and in mint condition, like buying new. I am the original and only owner, I bought it brand new in 2006. I can write a book on what was done to this car, I have over 60,000 dollars in it between just parts and labor. This car can be raced or used for show, I used it for show, it's a show winner and I win an award at every show I put it in. The car has 43,000 original miles, the new motor has 4200 miles and so does the tranny. I had a brand new 408 stroker professionally built and dyno tuned. The car passes inspection and has no check engine lights. The transmission was rebuilt to take more power, was beefed up, had a shift kit and a 3,400 stall converter put in it. Everything under the hood including the whole motor has been either chromed, powder coated or painted. It's a real head turner. The paint on the car was always taken care of it and looks better than when the dealer sold it to me. There are no scratches, dents, or fade marks, the paint is in perfect shape. It is show quality. It has a custom cowl hood with custom paint and flames, all emblems have been changed to polished ones. Front and back chrome grilles I bought brand new, 18 inch staggered wheels and tires only 350 miles on them. 60 percent of car is all new due to upgrading parts. Way too much to list here, will need to call me for any questions and I can tell you everything that has been done to the car.

I will break down everything done to car first on the outside: Front and back billet grilles, 18 inch staggered wheels, all the rotors brake brackets and calipers have been painted so it's all nice and clean, all polished emblems around whole car, underground neon lights, custom cowl hood with flame paint job, windshield wiper cowl was all hydro-dipped. Interior is two tone red & black, has painted trim and red & black carbon fiber pieces, chrome pieces, chrome b and m custom ratchet shifter, 7 inch flat screen DVD cd player and gps, gator pods and triple pods with all auto meter gauges. I put a brand new steering wheel on, all leather interior and is in perfect shape, no rips, tears, no one rarely sat in passenger seat, no one ever sat in the back. Custom Lloyd floor mats with billet clip downs, all hidden red theater light neons, the suspension is stock except I put the drag bags in back, the exhaust is kooks 1 and 7/8 ceramic coated long tube headers and has magna flow cat back system with 4 inch rear tips motor.

As far as under the hood, way too much to list... every screw has been chromed, everything is chromed, painted or powder coated down to motor oil pan, k member... You can put mirror under car for shows. Everything has been done as far as the stroker build, the crank is forged, the rods are forged, h beam rods forged, pistons are forged. Has an ARP engine girdle, trick flow SLP high volume oil pump, comp custom grind cam, comp lifters, trick flow hardened push rods. This cam is good for nitrous blower or turbo, it has 237 cc ported and polished heads, has ARP head studs, Harland Sharp roller rockers, Mezerie electric water pump all chrome, under drive pulley, Fast 102 intake, Nick Williams 102 mm throttle body, Fast fuel rails, Fast 46lb injectors, 255 fuel pump in the gas tank, K and N Typhoon cold air intake. Has an Optima red top battery. Everything under the hood is brand new. I'm sure I left a lot out about this car and you can call or message me anytime to find out more. The price I'm selling for is really fair, my loss is your gain. I'm selling this car because I'm getting married and want to buy a house and plan on starting a new build in the future.

On the Carfax it will list two accidents, but it's nothing major. One was when I was driving on the thruway to a car show, and the hood & bumper were hit with stones, and the bumper had to be repainted and hood, but the hood that was hit with stones was the stock hood and now I have an after market cowl hood. The other accident listed is from someone breaking the front passenger headlight and it had to be replaced. That is all that has happened to this car. It has never been in an accident.

Pontiac Firebird in latest Generation Gap scrap

Tue, 30 Sep 2014

Generation Gap is mining the Lingenfelter collection again this week to compare two very different interpretations of the Pontiac Firebird. An original 1968 example goes toe-to-toe with a 2010 Lingenfelter Trans Am to see whether the old man or the modern re-imagining takes the crown.
Being from the Lingenfelter collection, both cars are absolutely immaculate. The '68 packs a Pontiac 350-cubic-inch (5.7-liter) V8 with a claimed 320 horsepower and some classic, muscular style with a hood-mounted tach. Plus, it's painted in an understated shade of green that you don't usually see.
In the other corner is Lingenfelter's pumped-up take on the classic shape based on the modern Camaro, and this is just one of six concept versions ever made. It wears an eye-catching, vintage-inspired livery of blue with a white stripe package. Under its shaker hood is a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 with a reported 655 hp and 610 pound-feet of torque.

Watch this garbage truck consume a Pontiac Grand Am

Wed, 15 May 2013

When an old car or truck offers its dying breath in your driveway and you just don't have the financial or mechanical wherewithal to resuscitate it yet again, you traditionally have to go to the trouble of calling a flatbed or a tow truck to come haul it away. That usually helps to put a few bucks in your wallet and helps recycle some of the vehicle's parts, but the transaction doesn't seem as final or perversely satisfying as the dispatch service that this New Way Cobra Magnum garbage truck offers.
Okay, okay, so this refuse hauler isn't actually designed for this sort of thing, but it's oddly comforting to know that a sanitation truck can compact a hapless Pontiac Grand Am into oblivion. Next time, we won't feel so guilty about slipping that rusty charcoal grille onto the curb next to the cans on garbage day. Watch the carnage by scrolling below.

Junkyard Gem: 1996 Pontiac Grand Am SE Coupe

Thu, Jun 22 2023

The Grand Am was the best-selling Pontiac model in the United States for every year of the 1990s, and it outsold most of its N-Body platform-mates (including the Chevrolet Corsica/Beretta) during nearly all of that decade. A sporty-looking compact with two or four doors, the Grand Am offered true 1990s radness—and, in some cases, respectable performance — at a good price. Today's Junkyard Gem is a nicely preserved example of the facelifted 1996 Grand Am, found in a Denver-area car graveyard. This is an SE Coupe with base engine and transmission, the most affordable Grand Am available in 1996. List price was $13,499, or about $26,523 in 2023 dollars. The factory-issued Monroney sheet for this car was still inside, so we can see that the original buyer got the car at Bob Ruwart Motors in Wheatland, Wyoming (about 175 miles up I-25 from this Pontiac's final parking spot), and paid a total of $16,054 ($31,543 in today's money) after the cost of options and the destination charge. The '96 Grand AM SE buyer had to pay extra for cruise control, air conditioning, power windows, rear glass defogger and other features we now take for granted on new cars. The base engine was the 2.4-liter Twin Cam four cylinder, a member of the screaming Oldsmobile Quad 4 family. This one was rated at 150 horsepower and 155 pound-feet. A 3.1-liter V6 with 155 horses and 185 pound-feet was an option. If you got the V6 in your '96 Grand Am, however, you couldn't get a manual transmission. This car has a proper five-speed manual, which made for fun driving with the high-revving Twin Cam engine in a machine weighing just 2,802 pounds (which is quite a bit less than what the current Honda Civic weighs). It traveled just over 160,000 miles during its 27 years on the road. The body and interior were still in fairly good condition when the car arrived here, so we can assume that some expensive mechanical problem doomed this car. Perhaps the original clutch wore out and the owner didn't consider it worth replacing. After all, a mid-1990s Detroit two-door with a transmission most people can't drive isn't worth much these days. Though nobody knew it when this car was new, the Grand Am would be gone in nine years and Pontiac itself would get the axe five years after that. It makes the ordinary extraordinary. Husbands and wives would argue for 12 hours over who got to drive the Grand Am, if we are to believe this ad. Proud sponsor of the 1996 Olympic team.
