1970 Pontiac Gto #'s Matching 400/4sp Rust Free on 2040-cars
Watsonville, California, United States
1970 Pontiac GTO #’s matching rebuilt 400/4 speed 3.55 posi rust
free California car with PHS docs. I am
listing this car for my father. This is an original Atoll blue exterior, with
black bench seat interior (Rare). We
bought the car back in 2007 in San Diego Ca. but due to a recent unrelated
accident my father has to sell the car.
The registration is up to date with a non-operation status, and we have
a clean California title on hand.
Drivetrain: Engine/transmission:
The engine is the original #’s matching
rebuilt WT 400 engine with 0 miles on it, with the correct #12
heads. The engine/engine compartment has
been detailed and painted. We have the
original dual snorkel air cleaner (needs refinishing) with a new chrome
lid. The carburetor has been rebuilt,
but it is not the correct number for the car.
My dad got the car running but it will not idle. The carburetor has been taken off and
probably needs to be readjusted. New
hoses, belts, and plug wires , valve covers etc. Muncie M-20 4 speed transmission, but unknown if
it’s the original transmission or not. Someone cut a small half dollar size piece out of the radiator support, see photo. Rearend is the correct original 3.55 posi-traction with heavy duty nodular housing/case with anti-sway bar, and boxed in rear trailing arms. The steering tie rod ends and links/components have been replaced along with new front brake calipers, pads, brake master cylinder, booster (replated), rear brake wheel cylinders, brakes, and rear brake lines.
Interior: Needs a facelift but all intact. The bench seat and back seats were taken out but will be put back in. We do have a new headliner with sunvisors, new carpet, package tray, and front bench seat covers, and a new dash bezel that will be included. Exterior: Really nice complete, rust free, clean body panels, floor pans, and trunk pan. This is a great car to either get going how it is, or real easy car to paint to make it look much nicer. The car has been sitting since 1983 so it will need some
kinks and bugs worked out of it but It is a great rust free rebuilt #’s
matching 4 speed car with a posi-traction rear-end that is all complete. Feel free to call or email with any
questions. Car is located in Watsonville
Ca. 95076. I do have the car for sale
locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime. Must receive $1000 deposit within 3 days of end of auction, and balance within 7 days of end of auction. Adam 831 750 7595 |

Saturn Vue ignition switch leads to new group of GM recalls totaling 312k
Fri, 08 Aug 2014General Motors has another spate of recalls to announce. This time they cover 312,280 vehicles worldwide, including 269,041 of in the US, in a total of six campaigns. In 2014, the automaker has recalled 29,079,765 vehicles worldwide, with 25,754,356 of those in the US.
The largest among them covers 215,243 units of the Saturn Vue from 2002-2004 model years worldwide, 202,115 in the US. It's possible for the for the key to be removed even when the ignition isn't in the OFF position. The company knows of two crashes and one injury caused by this problem. Dealers are checking the parts and replacing the ignition cylinder and key set, if necessary.
Next is 72,826 models worldwide (48,059 vehicles in the US) of the 2013 Cadillac ATS four-door sedan, 2013 Buick Encore and 2013 Chevy Trax in Canada. It's possible that the for lap belt pretensioner to retract but not to lock, which could increase occupant movement during a crash. Both front, outboard lap belt pretensioners are being replaced, and a stop-sale is in effect on unsold models until the problem is repaired. There are no known crashes or injuries, though.
GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems
Mon, 30 Jun 2014General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.
2023 Grand National Roadster Show Mega Photo Gallery | Hot rod heaven
Wed, Feb 8 2023POMONA, Calif. — From an outsider's perspective, it would be easy to assume that the Grand National Roadster Show has always been a Southern California institution. After all, it celebrates the diverse postwar car culture of the region — hot rods, lead sleds, lowriders, and more. However, the show had its roots in NorCal in 1950 when Al Slonaker and his hot rod club showed their custom cars at the Oakland Expo. The GNRS moved to Pomona, California, in 2004. By then it had grown exponentially and seen about a dozen more car customization trends come and go. However, the show and its centerpiece award, the America's Most Beautiful Roadster prize, celebrate what is perhaps the first of those trends: the American hot rod in its purest form. Today, in its 73rd year, the GNRS is the oldest indoor car show in America. Annually it welcomes 500-800 cars, gathered into special themes like Tri-Five Chevys or Volkswagen Bugs. At this year's show, which was last weekend, a special hall was dedicated to pickup trucks built between 1948-98, including mini-trucks, groovy camper bed conversions, and resto-mods. However, of all the vehicles presented, only nine are eligible for the America's Most Beautiful Roadster award. Winners get their names engraved on a 9-foot-tall perpetual trophy that was, according to The Ultimate Hot Rod Dictionary, the largest in the world when it debuted in 1950. Slonaker chose the word "roadster" initially because "hot rod" bore slightly negative outlaw connotations in 1950. Only American cars built before 1937 of certain body styles — roadsters, roadster pickups, phaetons, touring cars — are eligible, and they cannot have roll-down side windows. Cars in the running for the cup cannot have been shown anywhere else before their debut at the GNRS. Contestants for this accolade essentially build their cars to the a platonic ideal of a hot rod. This year the honors went to Jack Chisenhall of San Antonio, Texas, for his "Champ Deuce," a 1932 Ford Roadster. It's exactly what you picture when you think of a hot rod, but distilled to its absolute essence. Other standouts included "Green Eyes," a two-tone green 1959 Chevy El Camino with a heavily metal-flaked bed, "Blue Monday," a 1964 Buick Riviera lowrider, and a personal favorite, "Purple Reign," a purple and black 1951 Mercury. Cars may have started out as tools, but there aren't shows like this filled with custom refrigerators.
