I have a 1970 GTO that runs good and could use a paint job. I have a clear NM Title in my name. I'm open to offers and I'm looking for a newer Ram 4x4 that I would trade for. I know what these cars are worth in this condition and restored. So please no insults. I will go through the good and bad below. Its an automatic with shifter on the floor. Pictures say everything. Car is fast and would be faster if both exhaust pipes where hooked up. You will be in charge of shipping and any other costs.
The good. Body is in very good condition. Hasn't been in any accidents. The inside is a light brown with bucket seats. back seat is perfect and so is carpet. Buckets have a couple of very small holes. maybe 5. carpet on pass. side in good and the drivers side has two holes. one is about 5 inches round. Dash is perfect except for one 4 inch crack on Pass. side. All gages are there the clock doesnt work and the Gas gage stays at full. everything else works. Lights/blinkers/back up, dome light and lights all around car work good.
Engine is a 400 and I think so in the tranny. But there not matching numbers. Drive train works great. Newer tires with Crager rims and I also have the original rims that go with car plue jack and a new spare tire. check pictures.
New Trans lines, tune up, light switch and temp sensor also I added a larger gas filter on the outside of the carb. and Air Shocks.
The bad. The engine runs great but isn't the original and don't know how many miles is on it. all I know it's a 400 YS. There is a rust spot on the front side of the drivers door and also outside of the same door on the bottom fender. Also under the GTO sign on the trunk there is some bondo that wasn't finished. But no rust. Thats pretty much it. floor pans and trunk are in good shape. The exhaust pipe on the Pass. side is bent and doesn't line up with the exhaust Manafold. One screw is in to hold in place but the pipe needs to be bent into shape. Its a fairly new exhaust from front to back. On the Pass Door. The car used to have a vinyl top but someone took it off and tried to bondo the holes for the molding (Ido have all the molding for the vinyl top in trunk). The top had glue taken off and then a coat of paint was added to stop any rust from forming.

STUDY: Ford owns brand loyalty in 2009; Scorned Saturn, Pontiac buyers will look outside of GM
Fri, 16 Oct 2009Ford buyers appear to love their cars more than customers of any other automotive brand, returning back to the American automaker when it comes time to purchase their next vehicle. According to a study by Experian Automotive, six of the top 10 vehicles for customer brand loyalty wear badges from the Blue Oval. That includes the Ford Fusion (62.4 percent), Ford Edge (57.9 percent), Ford Five Hundred/Taurus (56 percent), Ford Freestyle (51.9 percent), Ford Escape (49.4 percent) and the Ford Focus (47.57 percent).
Other vehicles making up the top 10 include the Toyota Prius (52 percent), Chevy Impala (51.7 percent), Toyota Camry (47.8 percent) and Toyota Corolla (47.56 percent). This brings up an interesting question: With the closing of automotive brands like Saturn and Pontiac, where are those buyers to turn for their next automotive purchase?
Apparently, not back to General Motors. According to Experian, Pontiac owners are most likely to look to the Ford lineup for their next car or truck and Saturn shoppers will switch to Toyota or Honda - not particularly surprising given that Saturn was meant to compete with import brands. Experian predicts that GM's overall market share will fall from 20 percent to about 17.5 percent, with most of the slack being picked up by Ford, Honda and Toyota.
'We're not a hedge fund': Porsche plans to curtail speculators and flippers
Tue, May 30 2017A sizable number of speculators view cars as an investment. Rare or unusual models are quickly snapped up and either parked for years or flipped for a profit. Cars from automakers like Porsche and Ferrari are more prone than others, and at least some people behind these models are getting a bit tired of it. While it's difficult to police what goes on after you sell a car, Porsche has some plans that might curtail the problem before it starts. Andreas Preuninger, the head of GT road-car development and the man behind the new 911 GT3, spoke to Car and Driver at a recent event. "I personally like to see my cars being used," he said. "That's what we build them for. They are just too good to be left to stand and collect dust." One recent example of this rampant speculation is the 911 R. While the special manual-only model sold for $185,950 when new, used versions were selling for nearly $1.3 million just months after it went on sale. While the car is a masterpiece and an instant classic, a good number will be parked and simply used as art and not the rolling testaments to the man/machine interface they were intended to be. The concern over valuations has become so fierce that some owners are upset that Porsche is offering the new 911 GT3 with a manual transmission, fearing that it may hurt the value of the 911 R. "When I said we're not a hedge fund, I'm talking to those people who are yelling at us for offering the manual transmission similar to the R," Preuninger said. "But if there are people wanting to buy cars like that, then as a company we should try to fulfill that, to meet that demand." It seems Porsche is keeping a close eye on who is flipping cars. Since there is often far more demand than supply with certain models, the German automaker has a name for every car before it's built. Buyers with bad reputations might not even make the wait list. Watch as Hot Rod goes from El Paso to LA the hard way
Tue, 21 Feb 2012There are few things simultaneously more romantic and idiotic than taking a road trip in a beaten-down heap of a car. Trust us. We know. David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan of Hot Rod Magazine fame recently undertook an epic trip from El Paso, Texas to Los Angeles with the express goal of doing so for under $1,500, including the purchase price of a vehicle, food, lodging, repairs and, most importantly, fuel. With this in mind, the duo settled on a 1972 Pontiac Catalina for a lofty $650. Hilarity ensues.
Realizing that no one actually wants a Catalina sulking around the shop, Freiburger and Finnegan put the car up for auction on eBay Motors the instant they had the title in hand. By the time they rolled into Hot Rod HQ, the vehicle sold for a little over $500.
The video is part of a new series called Roadkill that should document similar adventures. Keep your eyes peeled for more calamity-soaked clips in the near future. In the meantime, hit the jump to check it out yourself.
