Just like this auction reads!  Yes this is a True Original 1968 Pontiac Gto Convertible 4 speed Convertible HO that only 761 of these were produced in 1968 from GM.  This Goat needs total restoration but has had some of the work has already done. This HO does not have its original vin stamped WS 400ci motor that it came from the factory with now. It does have another original 1968 Gto Convertible HO 400ci WS one in it once again! The motor has been checked and came from another 1968 Gto HO Convertible 4 speed that was totalled years ago when it spun out and rearended a bridge embuttment! I had found this many years ago complete and all remaining parts to the car and purchased them for another project and this gto came along without its match so I figured a perfect fit now!  Times certainly have changed for me so here yah go its up for grabs! A true PHS documented HO 1968 Gto Convertible! Serious Gto restorers take a look! The car will need to be towed away and right as it sits does not run under its own power because in a stage of restoration but all parts will be back on this Goat for its safe travel. The motor and tranny and rear are put back in but not wired up. I have all the original harness's. The car is a Factory GM Solar Red Exterior with a black top and black interior from the Baltimore Plant.

This Gto's Option are as following:

Rally Gauges and tach with a tilt steering column which the tilt steering column is gone now, Endura with hideaways,Radio AM pushbutton,Rear seat speaker,Vanity Visor mirror RH,Drivers remote mirror,Rally II wheels,Floor shift knob custom,Ride and handling package, floor mats front pair,Air cleaner dual stage on to this Goat through the years! Solid nose with mint doors and nice trunk lid and nice original valance panel and parking lights. This Gto will still need floor work and trunk pans. The frame is solid. Like I said this will need total restorations but is a great solid investment! I just watched here on Ebay another sale go for an HO 68 convertible in the same condition but Numbers on the motor not WS but WT and it sold for 18K. My Goat here is for less and getting a better deal for sure! The interior of this convertible is original and all there but will need to be redone also. The last picture of the car together was when i purchased it and drove it into the garage before resto started. I have the open Mass Title in hand with PHS docs and a copy of the original window sticker too.I have other pic's and will take more and post soon. thanks

Woman Cleared In Fatal Car Wreck After GM Letter

Tue, Nov 25 2014

A Texas judge cleared a woman Monday for a car accident that killed her fiance in 2004, after General Motors acknowledged that her car would have been among millions being recalled for a problem that may have contributed to the death. Candice Anderson was driving a 2004 Saturn Ion when it suddenly veered off a road about 60 miles east of Dallas and slammed into a tree. Anderson, then 21, was severely injured when the car's air bags failed to deploy. Her 25-year-old fiance, Gene Erikson, who was a passenger, was killed. She later pleaded guilty to charges stemming from the wreck. But during a hearing Monday, State District Judge Teresa Drum expunged the conviction from her record, according to officials in the Van Zandt County court andAnderson's attorney, Bob Hilliard. In a letter given to the court ahead of the hearing, an attorney for the automaker confirmed that Anderson's Saturn would have been among 2.6 million GM vehicles recalled in February to address ignition switches that can slip out of the "run" position, causing the engines to stall and disabling power steering, brakes and air bags. Anderson's crash "is one in which the recall condition may have caused or contributed to the frontal air bag non-deployment in the accident," attorney Richard C. Godfrey wrote. Hilliard provided a copy of the letter to The Associated Press, and Godfrey confirmed its contents Monday. Anderson was initially charged with criminally negligent homicide because there was no clear explanation at the time why the wreck occurred, according to court documents from the case. She pleaded guilty to a letter charge in 2006, and was sentenced to five years' probation. She also was ordered to perform 260 hours of community service, pay court costs and cover the costs of Erikson's funeral. "GM knew this defect caused this death, yet instead of telling the truth watched silently as Candice was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter," Hilliard said Monday. "It took 10 years for GM to find its voice." In a separate statement issued by the company, GM said it "cooperated fully by providing technical information that was requested to make a decision in this matter." The carmaker also said the issue in Anderson's case was for local law enforcement and courts to consider. "That's why we took a neutral position on Ms. Anderson's case," the company's statement said. "It was appropriate for the court to determine the legal status of Ms.

Howard Stern latest in Seinfeld's passenger seat for CiCGC

Thu, 06 Feb 2014

We'll be honest: the actual cars in Jerry Seinfeld's hit internet series, Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, typically take a back seat to the celebrities in the front row. Seinfeld usually throws in a few lines about his classic wheels in the first minute or so, and then moves on to the important business of sprightly conversation and pithy one-liners. It's great.
This time around, with legendary motormouth Howard Stern riding shotgun, the 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge that might have been a co-star, gets forgotten about almost completely. Instead, Stern spends a tremendous amount of screen time extolling the virtues of his therapy sessions, attempts to dive into Seinfeld's prowess as a lover and generally makes a nuisance of himself. Pretty much to plan, then.
Scroll below to hear Howard accuse Jerry of acting like Jesus, just before declaring himself the greatest radio personality in the history of the business.

Junkyard Gem: 2001 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi

Sat, Jun 19 2021

The General's Pontiac Division sold Bonnevilles from 1958 through 2005, which turned out to be well over half of the marque's existence. Named after the Bonneville Salt Flats, some Bonnevilles were huge but pretty quick, others were slow-motion land yachts, and some were nearly indistinguishable from their Buick and Oldsmobile brethren. The final generation, sold for the 2000 through 2005 model years, were among the quickest and most distinctive-looking Bonnevilles ever built, but they arrived in showrooms at a time when the clock was ticking for the division's very survival. Today's Junkyard Gem is one of those cars, an '01 with the hot-rod SSEi package. The Bonneville SSEi first appeared in the 1992 model year, just a year after the Buick Park Avenue Ultra was the first of many GM cars to get the 3.8-liter Buick V6 with an Eaton supercharger bolted on top. Production of the Bonneville SSEi continued through the 2003 model year, after which the GXP version and its Cadillac Northstar V8 took over. The 2001 version of this engine made 240 horsepower, good for plenty of torque-steery fun. Could you get this car with a manual transmission? What do you think? Some cursory research indicates that 1970 was the last model year for a three-pedal Bonneville, and even those cars must be incredibly rare. This one looks to have been in nice shape when it arrived here, with the original manuals still in the glovebox. By 2006, the Bonneville was gone; four years later, Pontiac was gone.
