ARE YOU LOOKING FOR SOMETHING… FUN ? …. UNIQUE ? …. RELIABLE ?
Up for sale is this beautifully restored 1968 Pontiac GTO RestoMod. It underwent an EXTENSIVE FRAME OFF
restoration completed by Frisco Hill Auto in St. Louis, Missouri.
COMPLETE WITH PICTURES OF EVERY STEP ! ! Really, you ask…. Yes, Really. Here’s your chance to own a car
restored for a very detail-oriented client. All the pictures and documents are included WITH THE CAR. The build
started in June 2009 and finished in March 2010. Since completion, the car has been driven only 12,000 miles. The
only things done to the car since it was restored is a new clutch and power steering pump in 2013, and regular
maintenance.
(Motor/Transmission) This GTO has a 428 with 2.5 inch Ram Air exhaust system with Spintek mufflers and x-pipe. It
has a 4-barrel Edlebrock Performer Series Carburetor and intake. It Dyno’d at 392 horsepower at the rear wheels.
It has a 5-Speed Manual Tremec TKO 500 transmission with the ClassicFit Kit from Keisler Engineering and a
Centerforce Clutch.
(Heating/Cooling) The complete heating and air system was purchased from Vintage Air. -- Heres a few details and
part numbers of what was used in this vehicle. Vintage Air Accessory Kit, Louver Kit with bezels and vents, AC
Compressor with Drier (021168), Vintage Air Streamline 3 knob panel (491210-RUA), Evap Kit (561068), Vintage Air
Kit (561068)
(Wheels/Tires/Suspension) This amazing car grips the road with Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires, Goodyears Max Performance
radial. The rims are American Racing Torq-Thrust M Rims with Anthracite finish with Mach lip. The rims are 17x8, 5
on 4.75, Tire sizes are 255/45R17 and 225/50R17. The car also sports 2” drop spindles in the front, with a 3.55
posi-traction rear end.
(Paint) The stunning burgundy red paint color is from a 2009 Cadillac, I believe the color is called Crystal Claret
Metallic.
(Interior) The seats are out of a 2005 GTO and modified to fit inside the '68. They have powered controls and are
black leather. The center console, back seat and door panels are stunning with custom upholstery work. The dash for
this year would have had a wood veneer insert, but since it’s a resto-mod, the dash insert was water-jetted out
of stainless steel. The center console is custom made from an original '68 4-speed console. The interior took the
longest because it was custom fitted.

No donation or payment necessary to enter or win this sweepstakes. See official rules on Omaze. Normally when we post about Omaze, it is about some kind of incredible car sweepstakes. Today, well, to be honest, it is more of the same, but in the case of this tastefully done 1969 Pontiac GTO, we don’t even care if you head over to the sweepstakes page to enter, just do it for the photos. ThatÂ’s right. As a self-described automotive photography snob myself, I have to say that the photos of this GTO are far and away the best IÂ’ve ever seen on Omaze. And while youÂ’re over there, might as well enter the drawing. Who doesnÂ’t want that lean, green, muscle machine in their driveway? IÂ’m more of a fastback Mustang guy, and even I was drooling over that GTO. Win a Restored 1969 Pontiac GTO - Enter at Omaze Here are the specs of the restored 1969 Pontiac GTO in question, according to Omaze: Maximum Seating: 5 Engine: 461 ci fuel-injected V8 Transmission: Tremec TKO600 5-speed manual Drivetrain: RWD Exterior Color: Verdero Green Interior Color: Black Maximum Horsepower: 575 hp Maximum Torque: 620 lb-ft Approximate Retail Value: $100,000 Cash Alt: $75,000 Special Features: Butler Performance-built EFI 461, Fast EFI v2.1, 3.73 Gears with Eaton Posi Traction, Wilwood 6-piston brakes with hydroboost, Ridetech Coilovers and muscle bars, Chassis Works billet drop spindles, staggered 18” Budnik billet wheels, Budnik steering wheel IÂ’m not the only one on the Autoblog staff who thinks this restoration is worthy of a little praise. News Editor Joel Stocksdale picked it above all the other current Omaze offerings for our holiday staff picks post. HereÂ’s what he had to say: “There are an awful lot of ways to build a restomod. And a lot of those ways can be boring or tasteless. This one is neither. This is a seriously classy Pontiac GTO. Under the hood is a 461 cu. in. V8 from Butler Performance that's based on an actual Pontiac V8, not just another Chevy engine. The whole thing is subtle with a low-key metallic green and clean gray wheels. There isn't any overly flashy chrome or decals. And the interior is the same with just an upgraded steering wheel, shifter and pedals in an otherwise stock cabin. Oh, and it has a manual.
Junkyard Gem: 1988 Pontiac LeMans Sedan
Tue, Feb 7 2017During the 1960s, the Pontiac LeMans was a sporty, rear-wheel-drive midsize car, the GTO's cheaper sibling. Through the 1970s and into the middle 1980s, the LeMans became a bit less youthful-looking but remained a traditional rear-wheel-drive Detroit machine with a V8 engine option. Then, starting in the 1988 model year, the LeMans name went onto a South Korean-built version of the misery-inducing, front-wheel-drive Opel Kadett E. These were dark days for the Pontiac marque; here's the proof, photographed at a San Francisco Bay Area self-service wrecking yard last month. This one didn't quite make it to the 100,000-mile mark. These cars were very, very cheap and sold reasonably well, but nearly all of the 1988-1993 LeManses are hatchbacks. I have seen a total of two Daewoo LeMans sedans during the last decade, and this is one of them. Under the hood, 74 raging Opel/Daewoo horsepower. This content is hosted by a third party. In the United States, the ads for the LeMans were all about the hatchback, and all about cheap excitement. Drive plays Smokey, Bandit with turbo Trans Am
Sun, Jun 28 2015The modern trend for powertrains can be summed up with the simple maxim: cut displacement and add forced induction. Whether you are looking at the just-introduced 2016 Chevrolet Cruze or a BMW M3, this adage holds true. However, Pontiac's attempt at the idea goes all the way back in 1980 with the Firebird Trans Am and its turbocharged 4.9-liter V8. Drive's Mike Musto takes out a 1981 example to explain what makes this largely forgotten muscle car so special, and it certainly isn't performance. While a 4.9-liter V8 might sound like a lot in the modern world, keep in mind that only few years before the second-generation Trans Am was available with up to a staggering 7.5-liters of displacement. Turbocharging of road cars in the early '80s was quite archaic by today's standards, and the Firebird only managed around 200 horsepower with this mill. Without much go, the turbo Trans Am made up for a lack of power with lots of show. As Musto points out, the famous flaming chicken adorns practically every surface you can see on the coupe, and boost lights on the hood illuminate when the turbo is spinning. Musto still finds a lot to like about the turbo Trans Am. He even calls it "Burt Reynolds as an automobile." Find out why the coupe is so special in this entertaining clip.
