1967 Pontiac Gto Phs Documented Automatic Califormia Car on 2040-cars

US $54,999.00
Year:1967 Mileage:91000
Location:

Hello.  This is my 1967 Pontiac GTO coupe built in Fremont, CA. I have owned it for about 10 years. The restoration was completed 3 years ago and there have been 6K miles driven on it since then.  Most everything was replaced, restored, repaired or left alone. It had been in a garage in Aptos California, and was not touched in years.  The floor pans are all original and rust free. The drivers door is not original, it is a used door from another GTO not reproduction.

The engine is a 'YS' code 335HP 400ci and transmission is the TH400 His/Her Hurst automatic as per the build sheet that is included with the PHS documentation. The engine is not the original, but it was taken from an identical 1967 GTO. It took several years to locate a correct engine.  The engine compartment has been correctly detailed (as much as possible excluding markings and paper tags) as per the GTO restoration guide, including correct belts, hoses, clamps, battery top and spark plug wires. The carburetor (7027262) and intake(9786286) are correctly coded, as well as the 670 heads.  It also has HO exhaust manifolds.

The paint is a killer Harley Davidson Chopper Blue Pearl(Original Color was Cameo White) with 5 coats of clear. To me, its the nicest looking GTO color I've seen. It was voted #5 by the Ultimate GTO picture site.  http://ultimategto.com/cgi-bin/ratemewinner.cgi?year=1967 . The grill inserts, trim and bright work are all original (except rear bumper) and have been polished, anodized or re-chromed.  The trunk is fully detailed with the original jack instructions and correct fuel vent tube.

Most of the front suspension is stock, with the steering gears changed to a quicker ratio. The rear suspension has the original sway bar that is part of the factory HD package(as per the PHS docs) and I installed boxed rear control arms. Stock drum brakes with correct Delco booster.   The wheels are chromed American Racing TTOs; 15x7. Tires are BFG 235/60/15 and 255/60/15. New body bushings were installed while the body and frame were separated.

The restored black interior is mostly stock, with the exception of a Grant wood steering wheel and RetroSound audio.  I have the original restored wheel, radio and front speaker that will be included. There is a power amp and subwoofer along with 2 6x9 3-way speakers in the rear and a dash mounted dual speaker in front.  The audio system can easily be removed are returned to stock. It has a rare dealer installed console mounted vacuum gauge.  The clock is NOS and works. All gauges and lights function.

It has been in several Good Guys shows and local car shows, getting awarded every time.  The GTO drives better than new, and is ready for any long haul.  I have been driving it regularly since it was completed. It is not a 100 point trailer queen. Any questions please email me, and I would encourage you to see and drive this car in person as it is truly a wonderful ride.  Needs nothing, so there is no work you need to do except put gas in it and drive.

Now for the not fun part - no low ballers or scammers.  I'm not a 'motivated' seller and not in a hurry, so please no wishful thinking. I know what this car is worth as well as you.  The vehicle will not be released until all funds are cleared as per my bank.  I've been truthful and accurate in my descriptions so its up to you if you would like to come see it or have it inspected. Its a great car that you would be proud to own, drive and show for years to come.

Aficionauto sits down with The Hoff and KITT

Fri, 10 Oct 2014

The latest video from The Aficionauto is the perfect palate cleanser for Knight Rider fans after finding out that Justin Bieber is the voice of KITT in an upcoming film. Host Christopher Rutkowski says that the Knight Industries Two Thousand is one of the most requested vehicles to appear on the series and for good reason - Michael Knight's Pontiac Trans-Am is among the most famous cars to ever appear on television.
While the video isn't able to showcase one of the original KITTs from the series, it does get star David Hasselhoff to drive his personal replica and talk about the lasting legacy of the show. The highlight here might be seeing The Hoff back behind the wheel in the open desert basically recreating Knight Rider's opening sequence.
With all of its flashing lights and gizmos, you can probably make the argument that KITT is pretty cheesy, and the show itself was never exactly a pillar of high-quality drama on television. Despite that, the series still provides a ton of good-natured fun, and The Hoff's continued enthusiasm for it is pretty infectious. Pontiac should come back as a performance division for GM

Thu, Apr 6 2017

For decades the Pontiac brand was known as GM's performance brand. From the 1964 Pontiac GTO, to the 1967 Firebird, to the 1984 Fiero, to the 2006 Solstice Turbo, and 2009 G8 GXP, Pontiac had a reputation for building exciting cars, with bold styling and performance to back it up. When the Camaro was killed off in 2002, the Pontiac Firebird died off with it, and the last Pontiacs were built in early 2010. But with names like G3, G4, and G6, Pontiac's performance image had long faded from it's earlier glory days. My idea for Pontiac's revival would be to bring it back as a dedicated performance marque similar to Chevy's Super Sport (SS) line up of years past. First, and most obvious would be to bring back the Pontiac Firebird. Offering the entry-level model with the Camaro's 275HP turbo 4 cylinder engine, then having the Camaro SS's 455HP V8, but also offering a halo model Trans Am that is a revamped Camaro ZL-1 along with it's tire-shredding 650HP, supercharged V8 and race tuned suspension. Secondly, I would bring back the GTO. Which I would base on the current Chevy SS, but I would use the full 455-horsepower LS4 V8 (rather than the 415-hp setup that it has now). Furthermore, I would add the impressive 650-hp supercharged V8 to provide real competition to the Charger Hellcat. Importantly, I would make sure that the new GTO had bold, distinctive styling that really set it apart. I understand that purists would want any Pontiac GTO to be a two-door coupe, but I think that they could forgive that if the new GTO was an outstanding American performance car. Next, I would take the Buick Cascada convertible, add much bolder styling, swap in the Camaro's 275-hp turbo engine, and tune up the suspension to provide more performance than luxury (without being harsh). And finally I would round out the line up by using the new 2018 Traverse , but use the new, bold Pontiac design language to spice up the model's looks, tweak the engines for more power, and again provide a performance suspension that matches the model's new sporty looks. Obviously, having a high performance Pontiac model line up would steal away some sales from Chevy, Buick, and Cadillac models. But I think that it would more than make up for this by also stealing away sales from competing brands. BMX rider flips for wrecked Detroit football stadium

Fri, Jun 12 2015

Detroit is littered with derelict ruins. Abandoned automotive assembly plants, sure – but also former sports venues, like Tiger Stadium in Corktown, Roesink Stadium in Hamtramck, and the Silverdome in Pontiac. BMX rider Tyler Fernengel remembers going to see the Lions and Pistons play at the Silverdome in his youth, and competed there in Supercross as a boy. The stadium hasn't been used in years, but now, with his career just picking up, Tyler has returned to film this video – riding through its halls, jumping its stairwells and flipping over its grandstands and field. It's a fitting tribute to a once-great venue of suburban Michigan. Check out the footage in this latest clip from Red Bull.
