You are viewing a beautiful 1966 GTO Royal Bobcat Hurst equipped recreation that was built from a solid Lemans selling at No Reserve!  This car has the fresh Ram Air Package which was an over the counter dealer installed item. The Hurst equipment includes the Hurst Pro-Matic shifter and Hurst line lock. The wheels are new 14 x7 Ralley 1's with the Hurst emblems in the center caps and BF Goodrich red line tires with matching spare. It has a 1972 YS engine with all of the modifications that ACE Wilson's Pontiac dealership would of done.

9.0:1 compression

HEI distributor

Edelbrock 4 Barrell carb

Ceramic coated headers

Competition Cams camshaft kit

Rebuilt two speed transmission

Shift kit and torque converter

4-core radiator

Adjustable Hurst rear air shocks

This GTO has PS and PB and a very nice bucket seat interior and console. Hood mounted tach as well. I would rate the paint at least and 8 out of 10. It is very nice with no major noticeable defects. The interior is the same . The carpet and door panels look great and the wood sport steering really looks very nice. It is wired for a nice stereo system with speakers already in the doors but there is no head unit. The rear tray has the cut outs in it for the speakers already.

All panels on the body are solid as well as the trunk and floor pan. This GTO starts quickly and runs great down the road. All the lights work. You will get plenty of looks driving this car.

Selling as-is with no warranty. Overseas bidders are welcome. Read my feedback and bid with confidence.

Here are the answers to the questions I have been getting. The engine is a 389. The chrome and stainless on the car is excellent with no pitting. The frame is nice and clean and straight. The glass looks new. The dash pad and headliner look new as well. This is not a trailer queen but a very nice car you can take to the local shows and maybe even win a few trophies with. The restoration was done about 7 years ago and cost more the $28,000. The only difference in this car and a real GTO is the trim tag. If you would like to make an offer on the car just let me know. Thanks.

I had a gentleman email me and ask if this was a real GTO? I thought I was clear in my description but this car left the factory as a Lemans. It was then built to look like a GTO Royal Bobcat edition. It is not a real GTO this is a clone. Thanks.

Sci-fi movie Jinn features car designer, Firebird-bodied Camaro

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

If you're an automotive engineer being tormented by an immortal being made of fire, then wouldn't you think it best to have a custom coupe called the FireBreather for your getaway car? That's the FireBreather in the image above, adorned by the red wings that once fronted the Pontiac Firebird, running away from a black cloud of evil in a trailer for the movie Jinn.
The Jinn is eternal evil, always waiting for the chance to make things float across rooms before going on homicidal urban rampages. The FireBreather is a Gen-V Chevrolet Camaro - from the V6 to the ZL1 - that's been through Classic Design Concepts' extensive list of exterior and interior modifications, including entirely new front and rear fascias and side skirts, sway bars and springs, Pirelli P Zeroes and an available Edelbrock supercharger.
The movie - FireBreathing chase scenes and all - was shot in Monroe, Michigan. You can watch the trailer below, but since the FireBreather only get a couple of seconds on screen, you can find out more about it on Street Legal TV and its official site.

GM doing fine at retaining Pontiac owners

Fri, 28 Oct 2011

This isn't the first time we've reported positive news about General Motors retaining former Pontiac owners. Get a few more stories like this latest report from Edmund's Auto Observer, and it will mark an ongoing positive trend for GM. Edmunds.com crunched the numbers to see how well the General is hanging on to customers after shutting out the lights at Pontiac, and it found that nearly 40 percent of Pontiac owners stayed with a vehicle from a General Motors brand.
The numbers are a little lower than an earlier R.L. Polk & Company study, but Edmunds says General Motors is keeping more former Pontiac buyers than it has since 2007. Most are turning to vehicles from Chevrolet, especially during January and February of 2011, when GM incentivized Pontiac owners to stay under the umbrella. Those moves seem to have worked, and 28.1 percent of Pontiac owners trading up made the jump into a Bowtie.
Buyers that have gone elsewhere have largely stayed loyal to Domestic automakers, with Ford picking up the most conquests from Pontiac, with 9.4 percent switching. Toyota and Honda picked up 7.4 percent of the pool of former Pontiac drivers. The numbers are defying any predictions that Pontiac buyers would completely exit the General Motors fold, and have climbed up closer to parity with the retention figures of other GM brands from a 2009 low of only 16 percent retention.

Vitruvian Energy crowdfunding to make EEB, a trashy biofuel

Sat, Nov 22 2014

When sewage is treated at a wastewater treatment facility, biosolids are the byproduct. After being separated from the water, biosolids are usually sent to a landfill or incinerated. That doesn't mean that they're without value, however. Vitruvian Energy has created a process to make a usable fuel out of this human waste product, and while the source is pretty gross, it is undeniably abundant, and the results are much cleaner. EEB can be made for less than $4 a gallon. In a process that Vitruvian Energy claims is energy efficient, biosolids are femented and introduced to a type of bacteria to create PHA plastic. Reacting the PHA with ethanol creates the ethyl-3-ethoxybutyrate (EEB) biofuel. Vitruvian says EEB can be blended up to 20 percent with gasoline or diesel without any engine modifications. This lowers the carbon footprint of the fuel it's blended into, and serves to oxygenate diesel, leading to fewer harmful emissions. EEB can also be made using other organic waste products, such as corn stover, rice straw and distillers grains. EEB can be made for less than $4 a gallon and isn't subject to the maddening market fluctuations and international politics of fossil fuels. Furthermore, EEB's carbon footprint is 70 percent less than that of fossil fuels. Vitruvian also sees potential for EEB to be used on its own to power vehicles or burned to produce electricity for the grid. So far, Vitruvian Energy has used grants from the California Energy Commission and National Science Foundation to develop EEB, and has tested the fuel in a Pontiac Solstice at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Now, Vitruvian is wants to test EEB on a larger scale in the real world in order to prove EEB's viability to interested parties in the wastewater treatment industry. In an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, Vitruvian Energy hopes to raise $200,000 to build a prototype EEB production line and to run a test vehicle for a year on an EEB-diesel blend on the streets of Seattle. Donors can score some interesting perks such as shirts and bumper stickers that say "Get Clean with Poopaline." Learn more about EEB in the video and press release below.
