UP FOR AUCTION IS THIS 1965 PONTIAC LEMANS CONVERTIBLE. THIS IS AN ORIGINAL PONTIAC LEMANS THAT HAS BEEN TRANSFORMED INTO A GTO.

THERE IS NO POSSIBLE WAY UNLESS YOU LOOK AT THE COWL TAG THAT THIS CAR IS A LEMANS.

I HAVE PERSONALLY OWNED THIS CAR FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND HAVE DONE A VERY THOUROUGH AND METICILOUS RESTORATION TO THIS CAR OVER THE LAST 2 YEARS.

LET ME START OFF BY FIRST SAYING THAT THIS CAR IS IN NO WAY PERFECT BUT IT IS IN EVERY WAY A VERY FINE EXAMPLE OF A CLEAN AND PRATICAL SHOW CAR THAT I DRIVE TO LOCAL CAR SHOWS.

I HAVE SPENT $ TO MAKE THE CAR INTO A VERY RESPECTABLE CAR. I HAVE PERSONALLY OVERSEEN THE RESTORATION AND THERE HAS BEEN NO CORNERS CUT WHEN THIS CAR WAS BEING RESTORED.

THE CAR HAS BEEN AN ABSOLUTE PLEASURE TO DRIVE AND HAS NEVER GIVEN ME A PROBLEM. THE CAR DEMANDS RESPECT AND GETS A TON OF ATTENTION NO MATTER WHERE I DRIVE IT.

A FEW YEARSAGO AFTER I PURCHASED I DECIDED I WANTED TO REPAINT THE CAR AND RESTORE  IT .I THEN TOOK THE CAR TO A LOCAL RESOTRATION SHOP A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE OWNS. FROM THERE THE CAR WAS BODY PARTS WERE COMPLETELY DISSASEMBLED. EVERY PART AND PAINTED SUPFACE ON THIS CAR WAS STRIPPED DOWN TO BARE METAL AND REPAINED INSIDE AND OUT WITH DUPONT CHROMASE AND CHROMACLEAR.  (THE PAINT IS FANTASTIC , THE LINES AND BODY ARENSTRAIGHT AS AN ARROW).

THE UNDERCARAGE OF THE BODY, FRAME, FIREWALL, BRAKES, DIFFERENTAL AND SUPPENSION WAS ALL MEDIA BLASTED AND REPAIRED WITH GLOSS BLACK URITHANE PAINT.

IT LOOKS VERY IMPRESSIVE UNDERNEITH AND INSIDE AND OUT.

WHILE THE CAR WAS APPART POWER DISC BRAKES WERE INSTALLED WITH A DUEL RESEVEIOR MASTER CYLINDER.

AFTER ALL THE PARTS WERE REPAINTED THE CAR WAS THEN REASSEMBLED AND THE CAR COMPLETED IN A SPAN OF 2 YEARS. THE CAR IS VERY CLEAN AND RESTORED BACK TO FANTASTIC CONDITION.

BMX rider flips for wrecked Detroit football stadium

Fri, Jun 12 2015

Detroit is littered with derelict ruins. Abandoned automotive assembly plants, sure – but also former sports venues, like Tiger Stadium in Corktown, Roesink Stadium in Hamtramck, and the Silverdome in Pontiac. BMX rider Tyler Fernengel remembers going to see the Lions and Pistons play at the Silverdome in his youth, and competed there in Supercross as a boy. The stadium hasn't been used in years, but now, with his career just picking up, Tyler has returned to film this video – riding through its halls, jumping its stairwells and flipping over its grandstands and field. It's a fitting tribute to a once-great venue of suburban Michigan. Check out the footage in this latest clip from Red Bull. Junkyard Gem: 2000 Pontiac Sunfire coupe

Thu, Feb 21 2019

In a few months, we'll reach the tenth anniversary of GM's axing of the venerable Pontiac brand. G6s, Vibes, and Matizes continued to be built until 2010, but I'm noticing a marked decrease in discarded Pontiacs lately, as I perform my junkyardy rituals. Here's a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire, photographed in a Colorado wrecking yard. The Sunfire was the near-identical sibling to the Chevrolet Cavalier, based on the long-running (1982-2005) J-Body platform. It was cheap and simple, looked pretty sporty (at least in coupe form), and every parts store in North America carried just about everything you'd need to keep one running. This coupe had to compete for sales not only with a vast and menacing array of imports but with GM's own Saturn SC2 (not to mention the Cavalier itself). Meanwhile, the J platform was showing its age more with each passing year. This car sports what must have been the complete line of Fatal Clothing bomber-nose-art/skate-punk/gang-tag-influenced decals, circa 2010. I actually photographed this car back in 2011, then misplaced the image files until last week. The stickers are very California-centric for a Colorado car, but then plenty of Californians — including me— move here. When you know you're a car's final owner, it's a lot easier to whip out the paint pens and redecorate the interior. Power came from the engine GM developed for the very first J-Bodies: the 2.2-liter 122 pushrod four-cylinder. 2002 was the last model year for 122-powered Sunfires and Cavaliers; the most affordable S-10/Sonoma/Hombre trucks got this engine through 2003. It even came with a remote, so bad Midwestern farmgirls could make quick getaways when caught in the act by enraged broom-wielding mothers. CNN chronicles young girl building Pontiac Fiero

Fri, 26 Oct 2012

At fourteen years of age, Kathryn DiMaria has already done what many self-proclaimed gearheads won't even attempt in their lifetimes. The Dearborn, Michigan teen is rebuilding a car from the ground up.
The intrepid youngster asked her parents when she was just twelve to start a Pontiac Fiero project, even offering to pony up all the funds herself. Father, Jerry DiMaria only expected the project to last a few months, but two years later, Kathryn is still at it. In this CNN video, the two are at Maker Faire (a DIY festival) rebuilding a 3.4-liter V6 engine out of a Chevrolet Camaro to replace the 2.8-liter mill found in the Fiero.
The whole family hast pitched in, with Kathryn's mother teaching her how to sew in order to complete the interior, father Jerry providing much of the technical know-how, and even her sister is chronicling Kathryn's progress through photos. Jerry even started a thread in a Fiero forum which has been live for two years and is now 22 pages long. Of the project, one forum member wrote, "welcome to the madness."
