Automotive World Incorporated Introduces.....
1964 Pontiac GTO Convertible 389 Tri Power!! 4 Speed!! Ground Up Restoration!! No Reserve!! Some say if it wasn’t for the debut of the 1964 Pontiac
GTO, muscle cars might not be what they are today. The Pontiac GTO became a legend the
day it was born. It became the trend
setter for Detroit. Debuting in 1964,
the GTO hit the ground running. By name
it meant Gran Turismo Omologato but the street name
that it was given by admirers was the “GOAT”.
Just like a goat would eat anything that you put in front of it, the GTO
would eat any opponent that it went up against on the streets of America. It earned quite a reputation in its first
year and laid the ground work for one of the most successful muscle cars of all
time. It was hard to compete with the
GTO not only in performance but in crisp, sharp design. For this GTO offered here today, it comes
with everything that makes a car desirable and valuable. Everyone knows when the top goes down the
price goes up and when the two words of “tri-powered” are coupled with the
convertible option you have a recipe for quite a collectible muscle car. This
PHS documented car is absolutely stunning in its appearance. Wearing its original color combination of a
white top, white interior and a brilliant red paint scheme makes this one of
the sought after color combination of GTO history. With a period correct 389 Tri-Powered engine
with an updated 4 speed manual tranny gives you everything you need to be the
talk of the block. The beauty of
building a car with all these ingredients and buying an original one is the
obtainable price tag at the end. An
original tri power convertible, with a 4 spd dressed in these colors are
pushing $100k. Building a car like this
64 shown here today is about 1/2 that value but looks, sounds and feels the same.
Please read on about this beautiful car
and view the many pictures and video that is provided to help depict the true
condition of this vehicle. Our lines of
communication are open so do not hesitate to contact concerning this car or any
other car we offer. Thank you.
Exterior: As
you can see from the pictures this GTO it is absolutely stunning. This 1964 Goat has received a full ground up
restoration. PHS Documented, the color
combination is correct and a rare find.
If you’re talking eye ball, this one has got it. The body is very solid with a solid body,
floors and frame. There was one minor
patch needed in the trunk pan and was completed and detailed(not noticeable at
all, but wanted to point it out). The
GTO was restored about 5 years ago and used Sikkens base coat clear coat that
was color sanded and buffed to its current finish. The paint contains high luster and will stand
tall at any car show or cruise night.
Top top has been replaced and is new condition. All the glass is in excellent condition. The chrome bumpers have been replated and is
brilliant. All the bright work is in
excellent condition and has a nice appearance.
New redlines were installed on
factory wheels and dog dish hub caps. The
car has been driven to shows and for short drives since restoration so expect
very little wear on the exterior. The
body appears straight and any body work that was done, was done right. Please look at the pictures and let us know
of any questions you may have. Interior: As
you can see from the pictures, the interior is as beautiful as the exterior
complimenting each other perfectly. The
whole interior is practically new. New
door panels, new seats, and carpets. The
dash is original and in excellent condition.
It does need the factory radio and to be installed. The top up or down, this interior is show
ready and as mentioned earlier, the color is PHS documented to be the right color. Please look at the pictures provided and let
us know of any questions.
Drivetrain: The
drivetrain is a non numbers matching but period correct 389 Block with the Tri
Power set up. The original automatic was
removed and the much more diserable 4 spd box was installed with new clutch. The exhaust was upgraded with a new splitter
exhaust and sounds amazing. Car also has
factory power brakes and power steering.
It has a brand new wiring harness installed and all belts, hoses, tires,
suspension etc is all roadworthy and ready to go cruising. The amount of mileage that is own this build
is about 3500 miles. Please let us know
of any questions you may have. In Summation: As
mentioned before, this is not a numbers matching unobtainable GTO, but built
with all the right ingredients to give you all that you need in a GTO but a
fraction of the cost to fit any car collector's budget. This is a NO Reserve Auction.......Highest Bidder WIns!!!

Drive plays Smokey, Bandit with turbo Trans Am
Sun, Jun 28 2015The modern trend for powertrains can be summed up with the simple maxim: cut displacement and add forced induction. Whether you are looking at the just-introduced 2016 Chevrolet Cruze or a BMW M3, this adage holds true. However, Pontiac's attempt at the idea goes all the way back in 1980 with the Firebird Trans Am and its turbocharged 4.9-liter V8. Drive's Mike Musto takes out a 1981 example to explain what makes this largely forgotten muscle car so special, and it certainly isn't performance. While a 4.9-liter V8 might sound like a lot in the modern world, keep in mind that only few years before the second-generation Trans Am was available with up to a staggering 7.5-liters of displacement. Turbocharging of road cars in the early '80s was quite archaic by today's standards, and the Firebird only managed around 200 horsepower with this mill. Without much go, the turbo Trans Am made up for a lack of power with lots of show. As Musto points out, the famous flaming chicken adorns practically every surface you can see on the coupe, and boost lights on the hood illuminate when the turbo is spinning. Musto still finds a lot to like about the turbo Trans Am. He even calls it "Burt Reynolds as an automobile." Find out why the coupe is so special in this entertaining clip.
Hurst Edition Trans Am proves the Screaming Chicken will rise from the ashes
Wed, 31 Oct 2012It seems the Pontiac Trans Am steadfastly refuses to die. Ever since Chevrolet was granted a retrofied Camaro to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac lovers have lamented the loss of this 1970s icon. And, looking at the Hurst Edition from Trans Am Depot, shown here at the 2012 SEMA Show, may explain what all the fuss is about.
It's not going to appeal to everyone's muscle-car tastes, but there's certainly room for a brash-and-bold black-and-gold Special Edition in many a Trans Am lover's garage. After all, if you want the keys to a custom pony car, you'll certainly get noticed in this one. If this scheme isn't your bag,, you can alternatively order your Hurst Edition in white and gold or silver and black. Oh, and don't forget a color-coordinated Screaming Chicken on the hood.
No matter which way you choose to go, your inner Burt Reynolds will appreciate the Eibach suspension kit, forged wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, functional shaker hood, fender air extractors, rear spoiler and, of course, a Hurst shifter inside. The interior is emblazoned with all manner of special touches, including a Hurst dash plate and T/A stitching on the Katzkin two-tone leather seats.
2020 Porsche 911 Speedster spied with an angry driver
Wed, Feb 13 2019Porsche gave us details and showed us a concept of the 911 Speedster at the Paris Motor Show. Today, we bring you spy shots of what appears to be the production version of that concept with a few changes on board. They're rather minimal modifications, but the Speedster's driver appears especially angry with our spy photographer as he extends his middle finger directly toward the camera. Sorry, not sorry, Mr. Test Driver. Public testing of pre-production cars always comes with photo risks, and Porsches tend to attract more attention than others. You'll notice what appears to be a Cayenne Coupe prototype we've previously spotted running around with the 911. The Speedster Concept we saw in Paris had epic retro mirrors and fuel cap on the front hood, but both those design touches are absent from this pre-production car. It's tougher to see, but we lost the vents in between the two humps, as well. Everything else appears to have made it to production-spec. We can't say we're surprised these concept car features probably won't show up on the production car, but it is a tad deflating. You'll notice the Speedster is based-off the 991.2 generation of 911 and not the new 992. Porsche did a similar thing when the 997 generation was coming to an end with a Speedster model paying tribute to that car's life. The chassis is said to utilize parts from the 911 GT3, and the wonderful naturally aspirated flat-six engine gets carried over from that car, too. Porsche didn't specify if power will be exactly the same as the GT3, but we'll be expecting about 500 horsepower and a 9,000 rpm redline. We were told the six-speed manual would be offered on the Speedster in Paris, too. Let's just say that we strongly approve of that combination. Production will be limited to only 1,948 cars and begin in the first half of this year. We'll expect a reveal with a full spec breakdown soon, possibly for the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.
