Year:1964 Mileage:101000
Location:

Barbourville, Kentucky, United States

Barbourville, Kentucky, United States

This is a 1964 Pontiac GTO clone with a 462 CI Pontiac engine.  Has a Competition full roller cam 284-284, roller rockers, steel rods, steel crank, aluminum forged pistons, 670s heads with stainless steel valves and bronze valve guides,  Pro-billet distributor, MSD iginitation and 850 Holley carb setting on a Doug Nash Intake that is ported and polished along with the heads. Has a TCI from 3,000 to 3,800 Stall Torch.  Has a new 350 turbo beefed up transmission with shift kit and all blue race clutches.  The car has all the interior intact tach and gauges, car is all fiberglass including the trunk what's not fiberglass is top, rocker panel and firewall, has functional roll up and down windows with factory glass, front and back windshield is Lexan.  Car weighs about 2600 pounds and engine in the car has went as fast as 584 in 1/8 mile this car has a strong strong engine much too fast for car without roll bars but at my home track they will let you run as much as et 7 flat.  How I do this car is I put it in drive gear and let it shift itself 690 and 7 flat because I wanted to keep it more streetable without roll bars.  New Hooser slicks on the back and practically new front runners on the front, weld wheels are a couple years old but look really nice, big axels and long studs and a 410 gear..it's a little hard on gears but I have another 410 gear that will be coming with the car. The car has all new fuel lines, brake lines and brake shoes, has good full pedal of brakes.  The car has a solid carrier therefore it spends both wheels at all times.  The paint color is Hot Red and is about 2 years old and has Red interior.  This car is pretty much every lasting unless you wreck it because fiberglass does not rust and is very streetable if you want to drive it.  This car does run good but here is the bad thing it has a blown head gasket at the end of the season I blew the head gasket but I have a 3 dimension head gasket new that will come with the car that Kauffman's Racing says will take care of the problem.  Has headers and full flomaster exhaust back to the rearend.  My phone number is 606-627-7583.

General Motors Recalls Nearly 780,000 Cars To Fix Deadly Problem

Thu, Feb 13 2014

General Motors is recalling nearly 780,000 compact cars in North America because the engines can shut down unexpectedly and cause crashes. The company says six people have been killed in crashes related to the problem. The recall affects Chevrolet Cobalts and Pontiac G5s from the 2005 through 2007 model years. U.S. safety regulators say the weight of the key ring and rough roads can move the ignition switch out of the run position, cutting the engine and electricity. If that happens, air bags may not work. GM says there have been 22 crashes from the problem. All happened at high speeds. Dealers will replace the ignition switch for free. GM says owners should remove nonessential items from key rings until the problem is fixed. Rent the 1967 Pontiac GTO from the XxX films now on Turo

Tue, Jan 10 2017

The process of renting a car usually ranges from mildly annoying to "I'm calling corporate to get you fired." Plainly, it sucks, but sometimes you're left with no alternative. Turo, a peer-to-peer carsharing network, has created what's essentially the AirBnB for cars. Like AirBnB, the quality and variety of the rides varies based on location. If you're in Tucson, Ariz., in the next week, go check out this 1967 Pontiac GTO convertible before the release of XxX: The Return of Xander Cage. Promotions and marketing aside, this is still the opportunity to drive one of the original muscle cars. It's not clear if this is an original GTO or a Pontiac Tempest that was converted, but does it really matter? Old cars never drive as well as you hope, so, as long as it looks and sounds awesome, who cares? The owner listed on Turo is Xander C., Vin Diesel's character from the XxX franchise. This is the car that was used in the original 2002 film, and from the photos it appears to be in better shape than many other movie cars. The exterior is mostly stock, with some slight modifications to the lighting, wheels, exhaust, and trim, with the addition of a funky looking hood scoop that the listing claims shoots flames. It's not clear if it functions as an actual intake because there aren't any notes about what rests under the hood. The listing does ask for premium fuel, so more than likely it's some variation of a high-compression V8. Inside, the dashboard looks like someone raided the AutoZone accessory aisle. There are gauges, dials, toggle switches, and readouts galore. The listing also claims the Goat is packing a rocket launcher and a weapons stash under the seat. $999 per day isn't cheap, but it's less than you'd pay for a day with one of the rent-an-exotic shops you see in Los Angeles or New York. If you're not in Tucson or the price is a little too steep, Turo has what it's dubbed the Adrenaline Collection. The name may be hyperbole, but the lineup of cars is actually really solid. A quick glance reveals a 2015 Lamborghini Huracan, 2001 Ferrari 360 Spider, and a 1969 Jaguar E-Type. The car list keeps expanding, so if this proves popular, look for more cool stuff in the future. Junkyard Gem: 1987 Pontiac Safari Station Wagon

Tue, Aug 9 2016

During the 1960s and 1970s, station wagons based on full-sized Detroit sedans were the default family haulers, and many of those Kingswood Estates and Country Squires and Ambassadors came with unapologetically phony woodgrain-printed exterior paneling and trim. By the late 1980s, however, few were snapping up such wagons, making this '87 Safari that I spotted in a Denver yard an interesting find. Power for this wagon came from a 307-cubic-inch Oldsmobile V8 making 140 horsepower. General Motors used this engine in Buicks, Oldsmobiles, Chevrolets, Pontiacs, and Cadillacs, finally discontinuing production for the 1990 model year. Was the "wood" convincing, even when new? Of course not, but it was a cherished American tradition. Related Video: Featured Gallery 1987 Pontiac Safari station wagon in Colorado junkyard View 18 Photos Auto News Pontiac station wagon
