Hello and thank you for looking at my auction.

Up for sale today is a very clean 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GT Sedan.  This Grand Prix is in great condition and has just PASSED MARYLAND INSPECTION.  As you can see, this is a nice vehicle.  It is finished in  Silver and the paint on this Grand Prix looks pretty good.  Of course being a 14 year old vehicle there are many blemishes but no dents.  Also the paint has faded on the spoiler but the car looks good overall.  All of the body lines are smooth and even (lower molding missing on right rear door).  All of the glass and lenses are intact.  The alloy wheels show very well and are wrapped in a set of Coopers on the front and Goodyear on the rear, with over 50% tread remaining.  Please take your time and review each of the photos carefully.

The interior of this Grand Prix is in good condition.  The Blue interior compliments well with the Silver exterior and shows well.  The dash is clean and has no faded spots or excessive wear.  The carpets show well throughout the interior.  The door panels are clean and intact.  The power windows, locks and mirrors all work properly.  The air condition was just serviced and works well and the radio and speakers also work well. The seats are clean and comfortable and the trunk is also clean and well kept.  This Grand Prix comes with one set of keys without remote.

Mechanically this Grand Prix is in great running and driving condition.  The engine starts easy and runs smooth.  There are no leaks and the engine does not smoke.  The suspension is nice and tight as it should be.  The steering feels neutral and responsive.  The brakes are strong and stop this Grand Prix with no problems.  The engine keeps proper temperature and oil pressure at all times.  There have been no warning lights on.  She drives down the road confidently and feels solid.  The engine makes good power.  The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts as it should.  Out on the highway this Grand Prix cruises effortlessly.  She goes straight down the road with no complaints and can be driven with ease.  Pride in ownership shows throughout this vehicle.  Please take the time to read this entire description.  This vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability.  Car can be viewed anytime, just send me a message to set up appointment.

This vehicle had tie rods, wipers and a few lights changed to pass inspection and also had A/C serviced, right front window regulator replaced and a new hood strut installed.

Buying a vehicle over the internet can be scary so I take many actions to make you feel secure with your purchase:

1. I take the time/effort and spend the money to get my vehicles through Maryland safety inspection. Maryland has one of the toughest safety inspections in the country so if a vehicle passes Maryland safety inspection "I believe" it will pass any states safety inspection.

2. I give a very detailed report of the vehicle Interior / Exterior / Mechanical condition. I have a mechanical background, "but I am not a car mechanic". I have been buying and selling cars for over 25 years so I know a lot about cars. I am as honest and accurate as possible about vehicles that I sell. You can always ask me questions about vehicles that I am selling or arrange to come see the vehicle before bidding.

3. I upload over 20 pictures of every vehicle and will try my best to send you any specific pictures that you ask for.

4. My vehicles are usually priced around KBB.com private party values, which are much lower than the retail values that most dealers charge for vehicles on their car lot (but higher than the junk cars they sell on EBay that need a lot of work).   My profit margin is very low because of the time and money I put into reconditioning each vehicle and getting it through Maryland inspection. You always get a great deal and a car you can trust.

BEWARE OF VEHICLES THAT ARE NOT INSPECTED!!! Many people think they are getting a great deal on vehicles they buy on EBay for inexpensive prices only to find out when they take it through inspection that it needs thousands of dollars worth of work. I usually spend over a thousand dollars and put in hours of work on each vehicle to get it ready to pass Maryland inspection.

My vehicles are also for sale locally and auction may be ended early in accordance with Ebay policies.

A $149 DEALER DOCUMENT FEE WILL BE CHARGED ON ALL SALES (INCLUDING BEST OFFERS) AND INCLUDES A TEMPORARY TAG IF NEEDED (proof of insurance and all information for title/registration is needed 24 hours before temporary tag can be issued).

A non-refundable deposit of $250 is required within 24 hours of auction close.  Remaining balance is required within 7 days of auction close by Cash in Person or Certified Bank Funds (PayPal will not be accepted for balance).  Title and vehicle will not be released until ALL funds have cleared.  Buyer must contact seller to make arrangements for vehicle pick-up within 48 hours of auction close and pick-up vehicle within 7 days.  Vehicles not picked up within 7 days will be charged a $10/day storage charge unless prior arrangements have been made.

Thanks for looking and good luck biding.

Pontiac should come back as a performance division for GM

Thu, Apr 6 2017

For decades the Pontiac brand was known as GM's performance brand. From the 1964 Pontiac GTO, to the 1967 Firebird, to the 1984 Fiero, to the 2006 Solstice Turbo, and 2009 G8 GXP, Pontiac had a reputation for building exciting cars, with bold styling and performance to back it up. When the Camaro was killed off in 2002, the Pontiac Firebird died off with it, and the last Pontiacs were built in early 2010. But with names like G3, G4, and G6, Pontiac's performance image had long faded from it's earlier glory days. My idea for Pontiac's revival would be to bring it back as a dedicated performance marque similar to Chevy's Super Sport (SS) line up of years past. First, and most obvious would be to bring back the Pontiac Firebird. Offering the entry-level model with the Camaro's 275HP turbo 4 cylinder engine, then having the Camaro SS's 455HP V8, but also offering a halo model Trans Am that is a revamped Camaro ZL-1 along with it's tire-shredding 650HP, supercharged V8 and race tuned suspension. Secondly, I would bring back the GTO. Which I would base on the current Chevy SS, but I would use the full 455-horsepower LS4 V8 (rather than the 415-hp setup that it has now). Furthermore, I would add the impressive 650-hp supercharged V8 to provide real competition to the Charger Hellcat. Importantly, I would make sure that the new GTO had bold, distinctive styling that really set it apart. I understand that purists would want any Pontiac GTO to be a two-door coupe, but I think that they could forgive that if the new GTO was an outstanding American performance car. Next, I would take the Buick Cascada convertible, add much bolder styling, swap in the Camaro's 275-hp turbo engine, and tune up the suspension to provide more performance than luxury (without being harsh). And finally I would round out the line up by using the new 2018 Traverse , but use the new, bold Pontiac design language to spice up the model's looks, tweak the engines for more power, and again provide a performance suspension that matches the model's new sporty looks. Obviously, having a high performance Pontiac model line up would steal away some sales from Chevy, Buick, and Cadillac models. But I think that it would more than make up for this by also stealing away sales from competing brands. Pontiac and McLaren once hooked up, and it was rad

Fri, Jun 24 2022

Most of us would bend over backwards to have a chance to own a McLaren car, but few can afford such extravagance. That said, there’s a way you can get behind the wheel of a legitimate McLaren without breaking the bank. For 1989 and 1990, the Pontiac Grand Prix was offered in a limited-edition ASC-McLaren variant that featured tuning and updates from the iconic British automaker. Examples of this rare coupe rarely surface for sale, so itÂ’s surprising to see this low-mile 1990 Pontiac Grand Prix ASC-McLaren on eBay. The car is the result of a partnership between American Specialty Cars-McLaren (ASC-McLaren) and Pontiac. WeÂ’re not talking about the McLaren Formula 1 team or even the iconic McLaren road cars here. The McLaren connection comes from an arm of the automakerÂ’s powertrain engineering department. The Grand PrixÂ’s standard 3,1-liter V6 got a massage and a turbocharger, adding 65 horsepower for a total of 205 ponies and 225 pound-feet of torque. A four-speed automatic transmission sends power to the front wheels. That output is modest by todayÂ’s standards, and it wasnÂ’t outrageous even by 1990 standards, but the car returned a decent 0-60 mph time of around 7 seconds. The $5,000 ASC-McLaren package added a load of cool 1980s tech to the Grand PrixÂ’s interior, some of which is surprisingly advanced for the time. The car got a head-up display and a digital display on the dash. The steering wheel should be delightfully familiar to anyone who remembers a top-end Pontiac of the era, with the entire center of the wheel filled with buttons instead of the airbags we see today. The car had insanely padded bucket seats front and rear(!) with a distinctive pear shape.  Many sources peg production numbers between 2,500 and 3,500 units, so the car is relatively rare compared to its mass-produced Pontiac counterparts. This oneÂ’s got just 17,746 miles on the clock, too, and appears to be in excellent condition. ItÂ’s had just two owners and no reported accidents. The seller notes a little surface rust from the car being in storage so long. This era of GM cars tended to deteriorate quickly, so a bit of surface rust shouldnÂ’t be a huge issue. Junkyard Gem: 1964 Pontiac Catalina Custom Ventura

Mon, May 22 2023

Like Impala, Skylark, Malibu and Silverado (among many others), the Ventura name began its career as the designation for a trim level or option package used on another GM model, then became a model name in its own right. Initially a designation for a snazzed-up Pontiac Catalina two- or four-door hardtop, the Ventura name moved over to a Pontiac-ized version of the Chevy Nova for 1971. Today's Junkyard Gem, found in a Northern California car graveyard, proudly bears both Catalina and Ventura badging. Actually, the Catalina name itself started out as a trim level for the Chieftain and Star Chief models of the 1950s, just to confuse everybody. By the time this car was built, the Catalina was the cheapest of four Pontiac models built on the same full-size B-Body platform as the big Chevrolets and Olds 88s of the time (the Star Chief, Bonneville and Grand Prix ranked above it on the 1964 Pontiac Prestige-O-Meter). The 1964 Catalina four-door hardtop with the Custom Ventura package offered a lot of swank per dollar, with a price starting at $3,063. That's about $29,821 when converted to inflated 2023 dollars. The main benefit of the Custom Ventura package was an interior done up entirely in Morrokide upholstery. Morrokide was the name GM applied to Naugahyde fake leather when used in Pontiac vehicles; when used in Buicks, it was known as Cordaveen, while Oldsmobile Naugahyde was called Morocceen. Naugahyde took its name from the town of Naugatuck, Connecticut, where it was invented. This car's Morrokide is in rough shape. In fact, everything about this car is decayed and probably infectious. You know to be careful when a junkyard car has warnings about rat feces inked on the glass. That said, I couldn't resist examining the 8-track tapes that littered the interior. Here's Hotel California, the 1976 hit album by the Eagles. Supertramp's Paris, a live album recorded from the 1979 Breakfast in America tour, is here as well. Here's The Best of Carly Simon, from 1975. The tapes were played on this Sparkomatic player, which probably lived in the glovebox or under the seat. The factory radio was AM-only, and includes the frequency markings for the atomic-attack CONELRAD emergency frequencies. 1964 was the last year for mandatory CONELRAD radios in the United States.
