I am selling my 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT. This car has a salvaged title. It has fire damage. The fire was under the hood and all of the electrical wiring under the hood was destroyed. Basically everything in the engine compartment that has any plastic or rubber was burned up. The hood also has some fire damage as you can see in the photos. I got the fire extinguished before it spread any further. There is also a dent on the passengers side rear quarter panel. This dent was the result of my wife backing the car into my truck several months ago. I am no expert, but I think this dent could be pulled out, I just never did get around to it. The rear tires are in VERY good condition, they still look new. The front tires are very good, but starting to show some wear. The interior is in very good condition. Some of the features that were not mentioned above are: tilt steering, front bucket seats, cloth seats, center console with cup holders, floor shift, tachometer, trip odometer, 4 wheel disk brakes, and rear spoiler. I am selling this car as is. I do not want to part this car out. I believe this car would be good to use for parts or to rebuild. How to turn a Pontiac Fiero into a trackday car
Fri, 17 Oct 2014Imagine hitting the track in a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports coupe that's affordable and has pretty good parts availability. It might sound like a pipe dream, but it's actually quite possible, if you're willing to think a little outside the box. The Pontiac Fiero is out there just waiting for a little work to turn it into a competent racing machine.
Think about it for a second. Of course, we would all like to be snaking through the curves in something exotic, but what happens when you crash or something breaks? The bills are going to mount up quickly. However, if you ball up a Fiero at the track, as long as you're not hurt, then it's not a huge tragedy.
That's basically the story of Steven Snyder in a new video from Drive starring Matt Farah. Snyder wanted to go to the track cheaply and ended up with an awesome little Fiero with a huge wing and a claimed 220 horsepower at the wheels thanks to a V6 from a Chevrolet Lumina. GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
Junkyard Gem: 1988 Pontiac LeMans Sedan
Tue, Feb 7 2017During the 1960s, the Pontiac LeMans was a sporty, rear-wheel-drive midsize car, the GTO's cheaper sibling. Through the 1970s and into the middle 1980s, the LeMans became a bit less youthful-looking but remained a traditional rear-wheel-drive Detroit machine with a V8 engine option. Then, starting in the 1988 model year, the LeMans name went onto a South Korean-built version of the misery-inducing, front-wheel-drive Opel Kadett E. These were dark days for the Pontiac marque; here's the proof, photographed at a San Francisco Bay Area self-service wrecking yard last month. This one didn't quite make it to the 100,000-mile mark. These cars were very, very cheap and sold reasonably well, but nearly all of the 1988-1993 LeManses are hatchbacks.
