1977 Pontiac Grand Prix SJ: I have PHS documentation and it is equipped with a Pontiac 400ci, (6.6 Litre) engine and TurboHydramatic 400 with Safe-T-Track (Positraction)..Options also include an electric steel sunroof (doesn't leak), landau vinyl top, bucket seats and console, power steering, brakes, windows, locks, cruise (not working), Climate Control air, and twin remote mirrors. This car did not come with tilt wheel but I added one and it looks original. The colour is Berkshire Green, a dark metallic green, and the interior is white vinyl. The dash is in good shape, with no fading or cracking. This car originally had AM/FM Stereo with 8-Track, but someone installed a Pioneer cassette. The original (I think) is in the trunk, along with a second AM/FM stereo. I don't know if either of them work, but the volume shaft on the 8-track is bent. The original hard-to-find Pontiac radio knobs are there.
Its life began in New York, so there are some rust issues on the rear quarters around the wheel openings, but there is none under or around the vinyl top and the trunk is solid. I believe the paint is original and looks pretty good for 36 years. I was told it was garage-kept when I bought it and it is still garaged.
This car was my daily driver for two years. I believe I am the third owner. You can click here for more photos.

General Motors Recalls Nearly 780,000 Cars To Fix Deadly Problem
Thu, Feb 13 2014General Motors is recalling nearly 780,000 compact cars in North America because the engines can shut down unexpectedly and cause crashes. The company says six people have been killed in crashes related to the problem. The recall affects Chevrolet Cobalts and Pontiac G5s from the 2005 through 2007 model years. U.S. safety regulators say the weight of the key ring and rough roads can move the ignition switch out of the run position, cutting the engine and electricity. If that happens, air bags may not work. GM says there have been 22 crashes from the problem. All happened at high speeds. Dealers will replace the ignition switch for free. GM says owners should remove nonessential items from key rings until the problem is fixed. GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
Junkyard Gem: 1991 Pontiac 6000 LE
Sat, Dec 2 2017Sibling to the Chevrolet Celebrity and Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera, the Pontiac 6000 sold pretty well during the early-to-middle 1980s, but had been relegated to the dealership bargain bin and fleet-car cul-de-sac by the time of Operation Desert Shield. Here's a final-year-of-manufacture 6000 LE that I photographed in an Arizona self-service wrecking yard. This car was sold new in Arizona, and it will be crushed in the same state, 26 years later. The LE was the cheapest trim level for the 6000 in 1991, but the original purchaser of this car sprang for a few options. For example, instead of the utterly miserable 2.5-liter Iron Duke four-cylinder, this car packs the 3.1-liter V6. That meant 140 horsepower instead of 110, plus an engine note more like a vacuum cleaner sucking up a spaghetti spill than an ailing blender chewing on walnuts. AM, FM, and cassette. Not only that, but the auto-reverse feature meant that your mixtape cassette wouldn't stop right in the middle of your favorite Roxette tune. This content is hosted by a third party.
