1970 Grand Prix - Southern Car on 2040-cars
Cleveland, Ohio, United States
1970 Grand Prix American Muscle and a true Southern Car!!! This 1970 Grand Prix was originally sold in Kentucky (we have the original sales receipt) then spent several years in Florida. In 2013 the car was brought to the Columbus, OH area. See the photos as proof documenting the vehicle's history. We bought the car in December of 2013 and brought it to the Cleveland area where it has been stored indoors the entire time. Fresh out of the paint booth, while not a trophy winning show car, this 1970 Grand Prix will turn heads on the street and is a nice addition to any classic collection. The paint job alone is worth $5,000. Perhaps even more rare than a 1970 Chevelle or 1969 Camaro and every bit as fun to drive. The car runs perfectly - we drove it in the dead of the winter from Columbus, OH to Cleveland, OH with no issues whatsoever. Fires up on the first turn of the key and runs strong with a deep muscle sound provided by the dual exhaust.
We are motivated to sell and therefore have a low reserve price. Please call Travis at 216-926-4513 with any questions. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 1-hour of winning the auction. Purchaser is responsible for pick-up/shipping arrangements. Balance of payment and vehicle pick-up are due within three days (72 hours) of auction close. Vehicle is in North Randall, OH (an eastside suburb of Cleveland, OH) and we are confident the winning bidder can drive away in it and return to your final destination without any issues. If by chance the winning bidder hires a transporter for pick-up, our facility can accommodate all classes of transport vehicles, from flatbed tow trucks to 10-vehicle trailers hauled by a tractor. We desire to make your vehicle purchase a true pleasure and will work to accommodate your needs as much as we can so long as our previously stated stipulations are met. Thanks for your interests. Good luck bidding!Highlights 400 Engine Turbo 400 Transmission Dual Exhaust Bucket Seats Console Custom Paint 81,537 Actual Miles!!! Florida man runs down bikers in traffic
Tue, May 31 2016A Florida biker and his passenger got a nasty surprise when a road rage incident turned ugly on Monday. According to WTSP, Joe Calderazzo was returning from a Veterans Memorial Day motorcycle rally around 5:30 pm with a group of fellow riders. During their ride, the group got entangled with an overly aggressive driver in a Pontiac. Abe Garcia of Tampa watched the silver Pontiac attempt to run the pack of bikers off the road, which started the altercation. The bikers caught up to the Pontiac in stopped traffic, and a shouting match ensued between the bikers and the Pontiac driver. At this point, Garcia pulled out his phone and started recording. The exchange escalated, and suddenly the Pontiac driver floored it, turned hard to the right, and ran over Calderazzo's Harley. The Pontiac mangled the Harley and knocked Calderazzo and his passenger to the ground. The Pontiac then fled the scene. WTSP spoke to Calderazzo as he was on his way to the hospital. "I thought the guy was trying to kill us obviously," said Calderazzo. "You know you don't know what's going through your mind. Is he going to put the car in reverse? Is he going to turn around? Is he going to stop and pull out a gun? You don't know what's going on." The Pontiac driver, a serial traffic offender named Robert Paul Vance, was picked up by police soon after the incident. He is charged with hit-and-run, a moving traffic violation, and aggravated battery. GM repairing 40,500 Pontiac Vibes as part of Toyota airbag recall
Wed, 09 Apr 2014General Motors has confirmed to Autoblog that the Pontiac Vibe is included in Toyota's just-announced recall action. The Vibe and the Toyota Matrix share a large number of parts, including the affected cable to the airbag.
"About 40,500 Pontiac Vibes from the 2009-2010 model years are included in the Toyota recall. Toyota designed and engineered the Vibe for Pontiac. GM will service customers with these vehicles when Toyota makes the parts available," said GM recall spokesperson Alan Adler to Autoblog in an email.
The recall covers 1.3 million Toyota units in the US, including 2009-2010 Corolla, Matrix and Tacoma, the 2008-2010 Highlander, the 2006-2008 Rav4 and 2006-2010 Yaris, plus the addition of the 2009-2010 Vibe. The models all have their airbag module attached via a spiral electrical cable. The connections on this cable can be damaged when turning the steering wheel. Once broken, the airbag deactivates and the airbag warning light comes on. Toyota has an improved part, but it's still making preparations to begin repairs. It will begin notifying owners soon.
This Hoonigan mechanic's twin-turbo Trans Am is wonderful
Thu, Mar 24 2016What do you drive when you work on rally machines for a living? Probably a Subaru WRX, and that's what Gregg Hamilton had for a while until working on his car felt too much like his day job. So when he moved from New Zealand to the US to work for Ken Block (with a few stops along the way) he bought something entirely different. This is Gregg's 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. It's a throwback to another time, but it's anything but stock. It has that magic combination of a big V8 with a manual transmission and rear drive, just like the tin-top racers Gregg watched in his Kiwi youth. He bought it sight unseen from its previous owner in Alabama, and has been tinkering with it ever since. There's something about the flared wheel arches and the classic Firebird gold-striped black livery that has us smitten. Scope out the six-minute clip above from Petrolicious and see if you don't fall for Gregg's Pontiac as well.
