1999 Pontiac Grand Am - Bright Red - Rebuilt Top End Of Engine - Really Nice Car on 2040-cars
Hi, I purchased this vehicle from a friend with engine problems two years ago. I went completely through the engine rebuilding it from the Head gaskets up. The heads were machined at professional machine shop. Upgraded black fiber composite head gaskets and upgraded steel intake gaskets were both used in the rebuild as I rebuilt the car for my own use. I have installed a new windshield, wiper blades, alternator, water pump, all top end engine gaskets, front brakes, cruise control buttons on steering wheel, all window motors in all doors, updated side rear view mirrors, and I'm sure there's more I can't think of this second. I will be updating this listing as I think of things also. The only things that do not work is the side mirror lights on the flip down visors. I am selling the car only because I have acquired a Cadillac CTS that I have just about finished. I have a clean and clear Indiana title that is "Normal" not rebuilt. The car has some scratches here and there on the outside, the passengers side front tire blew out putting some dents in the back side of the passengers front fender but are hardly noticeable. It has new tires and wheels as of a month ago. The wheels in the picture are not the current wheels. I do have a picture of the wheels that are on the car now included in the pictures as they are Konig Incident wheels. They actually very similar. I will be adding more pictures in the next few days by the way. The interior is in good shape, as it has some wear, the dash was curled like most grand am cars but when the windshield was out I re-secured the dash panel back down as much as possible. The carpet has normal wear. The seats do not have any holes. It has remote entry with truck release that all works perfectly. It also has a moon roof that moves up then slides back that is factory. The car does run and drive really good. After Purchase, I can meet with you anywhere within 25 miles of 47356. I will also give my cell phone # to the winner. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Thanks for your time and good luck! I do have the car listed locally so I do reserve the right to remove auction at anytime. If you want to make an offer please just message me.

NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall
Wed, 13 Mar 2013
The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.
Junkyard Gem: 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix Daytona 500 Edition
Tue, Aug 29 2017The W Platform proved to be extremely long-lived and versatile for General Motors, remaining in production from 1988 all the way through 2016. You had your Impalas and your Regals and your Cutlass Supremes, and of course the 1988-2008 Pontiac Grand Prix was a W-body. For the 2000 model year, Pontiac made the racy-looking Daytona 500 Edition Grand Prix, an example of which I just found in a Northern California self-service wrecking yard. 2,000 of these cars were made, presumably because it was the year 2000, and each one sports plenty of cool-looking Daytona 500 graphics. Perhaps some Regal owner will buy these seats and swap them. This is the second junked Daytona 500 Grand Prix I have seen recently, after this one in Colorado. The Daytona 500 was about the same as the GTP version, with Eaton-supercharged 3800 engine making a respectable 240 horsepower. Disappointingly, this car has an automatic transmission. It never saw 150,000 miles, unlike most 21st-century W-bodies I see in wrecking yards. Featured Gallery Junked 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix Daytona 500 Edition View 21 Photos Auto News Pontiac Sedan

And a lot of those ways can be boring or tasteless. This one is neither. This is a seriously classy Pontiac GTO. Under the hood is a 461 cu. in. V8 from Butler Performance that's based on an actual Pontiac V8, not just another Chevy engine. The whole thing is subtle with a low-key metallic green and clean gray wheels.
