#830 of the First 888 shipped from Australia!
2008 White Hot Pontiac G8 GT with mild modifications.
**Vehicle is still covered by extended coverage of Major Guard GM Protection Plan until 94,696 miles or 11/15/2016,
whichever occurs first.
Since I have owned it, it has been kept in a garage or under cover, well maintained, engine always warmed to
operating temperature before driving, and I am a non-smoker. It was a daily driver with a commute of less than 20
miles a day, and has only added approximately 20k miles since purchase in 2013. Some scratches/chips from previous
owner and indicated in photos. Normal exterior wear and tear for 2008 vehicle, interior is practically pristine.
The GT comes with a 6.0 L (364 cu in) Generation IV V8 producing 361+ hp and 385 lb-ft torque. Features a 6-speed
6L80 automatic with limited-slip differential, capable of reaching 60 mph (97 km/h) in 5.3 seconds. Upgrades
include a Rotofab cold air intake system and Rotofab radiator cover, Pedders and Whiteline sway bars, as well as a
custom cat-back exhaust system.
This car has all standard sedan options except sunroof and bluetooth, PLUS quad tailpipes, clear taillight lenses,
automatic dual-zone air conditioning, larger center-console display screen, 19" wheels, remote start, heated seats,
tilt & telescoping steering wheel, and an 11-speaker Blaupunkt premium audio system with 2 subwoofers, 6-disc CD
changer, and auxiliary input jack.
At just under 73,000 miles, engine was dissembled, cleaned, and partially rebuilt due to spun connecting rod
bearing. Service was performed by GM under warranty and further details and paperwork can be provided.
Reason for sale is that I am relocating internationally.

eBay Find of the Day: 1967 Pontiac GTO Monkeemobile

Sun, 29 Apr 2012

Say what you will about The Monkees, but the guys in the band had great taste in automobiles. Take the Monkeemobile, for example. Built off a 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible, the custom featured genuinely interesting bodywork and some wild engine bolt-ons. If you're a fan of 1960s pop and yearn to relive the genre's glory days, eBay Motors may have what you need. A recreation of the 1967 Monkeemobile has showed up for auction. This particular replica was built by Dakota County Customs using an four-speed GTO, just like the original.
Built for the band's 45th anniversary and the final Monkees tour last year, this Monkeemobile is faithful down to every last detail. Unfortunately, the trumpet exhaust poking out of the front fender wells and the massive gold-flake blower are for show only. Seems fitting.
If you like what you see, this machine is up for bid in Richfield, Minnesota with two days left on the auctions. So far, bidding as whipped up to $60,000 with the reserve not met. Head over to eBay Motors to have a look.

Junkyard Gem: 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix Daytona 500 Edition

Tue, Aug 29 2017

The W Platform proved to be extremely long-lived and versatile for General Motors, remaining in production from 1988 all the way through 2016. You had your Impalas and your Regals and your Cutlass Supremes, and of course the 1988-2008 Pontiac Grand Prix was a W-body. For the 2000 model year, Pontiac made the racy-looking Daytona 500 Edition Grand Prix, an example of which I just found in a Northern California self-service wrecking yard. 2,000 of these cars were made, presumably because it was the year 2000, and each one sports plenty of cool-looking Daytona 500 graphics. Perhaps some Regal owner will buy these seats and swap them. This is the second junked Daytona 500 Grand Prix I have seen recently, after this one in Colorado. The Daytona 500 was about the same as the GTP version, with Eaton-supercharged 3800 engine making a respectable 240 horsepower. Disappointingly, this car has an automatic transmission. It never saw 150,000 miles, unlike most 21st-century W-bodies I see in wrecking yards. Featured Gallery Junked 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix Daytona 500 Edition View 21 Photos Auto News Pontiac Sedan

This 1927 Oakland is a minimalist hot rod

Fri, 21 Feb 2014

There are hundreds of American automakers that sprung up during the dawn of the automotive era, only to fold into obscurity or get gobbled up by what would eventually become the Big Four (yes, we're counting AMC here). Oakland is one such company, which was the forbearer for General Motors' Pontiac division. Sold until 1931, you simply don't see Oakland-badged cars anymore. Unless, that is, you know Brian Bent.
Bent drives a 1927 Oakland that still rides on wooden wheels. Its original wooden wheels, from the sound of it. That makes this anachronist and his Oakland the perfect subject for a Petrolicious video. Like many of the cars highlighted by Petrolicious, this old Oakland has had some work done to it, featuring a Pontiac flathead engine that's been pushed forward and a clutch pack built by Bent.
Take a look below for a closer look at this rare and fascinating Oakland.
