1969 Firebird 400/335 HP HO/Ram Air III Auto, PHS Documented 1 of only 499 built. "Not A Trans Am"  ***NOTE*** This is a Rare Option King! Base model firebird cost  around $2300. The Trans Am cost was $725.00 over that. This 400 HO special order car was shipped to Germany. Special ordered in 1968 from Myrtle Motors in New York came in @ a whopping $4851.81. In 1969 money that was more than a COPO, Yenko, or an L88 or any of the 8 Trans Am Converts. This car has had resto started & is not complete or finished. Was Frame off rotisseried & painted in Europe. The soldier that owned this car was wounded & received the Purple Heart while this car was in the middle of being restored. At that time the car was hastily bolted together. (subframe & front clip) so the car could be shipped back stateside as he was coming home. some of the cool options & parts never made it back, as well as the driver side fender got damaged in transit. The windows were taped up with plastic & the car was placed in a storage container. The port of entry was Florida. When I found the car  it still had port of entry decals on the windshield. I have the European Registration & papers as well as a current Oklahoma Title for the car. This car is worthy of a complete resto & deserves to be put back in its original state of glory. There is no rust in the trunk or anywhere that I have found. if you want to see specific pics let me know. thanks. Car is missing the original Hood Tach & front clip. It has a Trans Am Hood with no hood tach also has TA front fenders & extractors. Drivers side fender was damaged in shipping it has a crack where the fender meets the door. the extractor is in the trunk  I also have nice turbo 400 crossmember & driveshaft both very nice & painted, 12 bolt posi 373 gears with Eaton TruTrac & strange axles, Slide a link traction bars, the original shifter & plate, the cowl piece is painted as well. also have the lower ram air air dam or spoiler for the front, the original rear bumper as well as a new rear bumper.The dash bezel is uncut & very nice. I simply cannot put my 572 chevy in it. It does not have & appears to have never had subframe connectors. it should be put back Pontiac powered. Celebrate the summer solstice by building the Pontiac Solstice shooting brake GM never did

Happy summer solstice, everyone! To celebrate, we have a particularly unusual eBay find connected to the Pontiac Solstice sports car. A seller has leftover inventory of fiberglass hardtops designed to turn the Pontiac Solstice roadster into a shooting brake. The seller says they came from a since-closed Indiana company, and they're clearly inspired by another aftermarket part and even a GM concept that never saw the light of day. We'll start from the beginning: the stillborn Chevy Nomad concept. It was a concept that came out about the same time as the original Solstice concept, and it was clearly based on the same platform, featuring a small two-door body and a long nose. It also had unashamedly retro Nomad wagon design cues and cues from the original Corvette. The car never saw production, but clearly people were interested in having a wagon-like sports car. That brings us to the next bit of history with an aftermarket hardtop developed by German company EDAG. We saw a prototype in person, and the overall shape seemed to fit the car — and the wraparound window design certainly seemed Nomadic. Besides the unique look, the hardtop and its functional hatch made the Solstice roadster's miniscule cargo space far more usable. It doesn't appear many of the tops were sold, though. These tops on eBay look very similar to the EDAG tops, though it's not clear if they're a direct replica or something similar. Being that the parts are leftover inventory, the seller notes that some of the tops may be missing pieces for installation, so only those who are handy with bodywork and fasteners, or who are able to lean on someone who is, need apply. Even with some extra work, if you really want a Solstice shooting brake, this is likely easier and cheaper than commissioning a shop to custom-build a roof for your. 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge vs. 2006 GTO, which Goat gets your vote?

The Pontiac GTO was perhaps the most iconic muscle car of the '60s and early '70s. With its beefy V8 and color palette screaming for attention, it summarized in a single vehicle everything that made the era so appealing to many young people. Pontiac tried to collect just a few drops of that aura again in the 2000s with a revived GTO, but with decidedly mixed results. The performance was still there with its big V8, but the looks never quite lived up to the powertrain. Now, Generation Gap wants to know which of these Goats is the one to own.
Things are skewed immediately because the 2006 GTO here is a real ringer. It comes from famous tuner Ken Lingenfelter's collection, and it's a one-off example partially fettled by GM Performance boasting a twin-turbocharged LS2 V8 with a claimed 750 horsepower and a wide-body kit. This Goat definitely isn't what you're going to find just browsing for one to buy in the newspaper. Still, dip the throttle just a little, and this GTO pulls like a freight train. It's enough to turn the two hosts into giggling schoolboys behind the wheel.
The '69 GTO Judge here is also out of Lingenfelter's collection, but this one is all stock with a 400-cubic-inch (6.6-liter) V8 and a Ram Air hood for a claimed 366 hp. It might not have the unbelievable power of the turbo '06, but it makes up for it with style to spare.

GM recalls 61k more vehicles in three campaigns

Following a stop-delivery order for its new midsize trucks and a rash of recent recalls, General Motors is issuing three more campaigns covering 60,575 vehicles in North America with 57,182 of them in the US. As of October 1, the automaker has issued a total of 74 recalls (see the ridiculously long chart to the right) this year covering 26,495,070 units in the US.
The largest campaign covers 46,873 examples in the US of the 2008-2009 Pontiac G8 and 2011-2013 Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle imported from Australia. It's possible for the driver's knee to hit the key and make it move from the "Run" to "ACC" position while driving. GM says its Holden division is developing a fixed-blade key that's supposed to fix the problem by only allowing it to rotate toward the "On" position. There has been one crash caused by this fault but no injuries or fatalities.
The second recall is for 10,005 units of the 2004-2007 Cadillac CTS-V and 2006-2007 Cadillac STS-V because "the fuel pump module electrical terminal may overheat." This can cause a flange to melt and allow the pump to leak fuel. GM specifies that the remedy for the CTS-V is replacing the fuel module and fuel tank jumper harness, but it doesn't specify how the STS-V is being repaired.
