Purchased Feb 2012 with 1750 miles on the odometer. I'm a 53 yr old professional male, the only driver, always garaged. I have never spun the tires, they cost too much and it's hard on the car. Bought from a private collector who never drove the car. I bought this to build it into a serious street machine. I have spent a year and $22,000.00 to get this Trans Am to where it is today. I'm a performance car builder ( GTO, Trans AMs, SRT vehicles) and enthusist with lots of experience and many cars on my resume. I will e-mail you the "build resume" on this gorgeous car for you to read, it's 4 pages and would take too much to list here.
I built this to keep as it is my last project, and planned on driving it and being buried in it when I die. I along with the performance shop and a friend with 20 years experience who helps me with car projects went thru this car with a surgeons precision to make it what it is today. I'm probably the only person who would drop the front cradle and engine, suspension, transmission, gas tank and overhaul a car with 2750 miles on it, that's what I did with this TA.
I have pics of the mileage at 1750 then 2750 during the build, and 8877 as it is presently. Every piece and part has been touched, inspected or replaced as needed. The car was only driven 1750 miles over 10 years. $22,000 invested in engine, suspension, exhaust, powdercoating, wheels, tires, interior, sound system, and more...30 MPG HWY with 500 HP and the car still looks almost stock in appearance. This was built as an NHRA Trans Am from the factory, it has all the WS6 parts also.
Summary of the performance modifications: Comp Cams 228/228, Stage 2 CNC Ported Heads, American Racing Headers, B&B Triflow Quad exhaust, Koni Struts, suframe connectors, bigger swaybars, WS6 OEM Hood, Blackwing Intake, 4 layers of undercoating, interior sound deading, Stereo with a sound stage that is unbelievable until you hear it, SiriusXM, bluetooth, DVD watch movies while driving, retains factory steering wheel controls, numerous interior upgrades,it goes on & on.................
Original Laminated window sticker, 2 keys + Fobs and a folder with all the build invoices and everything else. Please ask for and read the build sheet it is descriptive and covers everything. I have other pics and a few from the build time w/2750 milles. Future Relocation forces sale.
This Trans AM drives as smooth as a new Corvette, 0-60 4 seconds flat, NO exhaust droan or road noise in the cabin, immaculate show room condition, everything and I mean everything is new on this car, top to bottom, bumper to bumper, inside and out. Folder with all invoice and expenses goes with the car, title in hand, car remains parked until sold.
OVER $42,000 INVESTED IN THIS CAR
If you are looking for a low mileage Trans Am they are getting to be rare these days, if you have always wanted the ultimate american muscle car owned by a mature owner and built to precision standards like this one only 2 choices exist:
1) try to find one under 10,000 miles that's $20-$24,000 and spend a year and $22,000 to get it to this level and performance.
2) Consider this car and spend the extra $4-$5,000 and save yourself a lot of money, I'm taking a $15,000 hair cut selling this car, and throwing in $1,500 of additional Wheels, Tires, Slotted rotors, pads, and other stuff all BRAND NEW for FREE!

Junkyard Gem: 1984 Pontiac Fiero with supercharged 3800 V6 swap
Tue, Dec 31 2019Like the Corvair, the Vega, and the Citation, the Pontiac Fiero was a very innovative machine that ended up causing General Motors more headaches than happiness, and Fiero aficionados and naysayers continue to beat each other with tire irons (figuratively speaking, I hope) to this day. The General has often proved willing to take the occasional big gamble and huge GM successes in engineering prowess (including the first overhead-valve V8 engine for the masses and the first real-world-usable true automatic transmission) and marketing brilliance (e.g., the Pontiac GTO and related John DeLorean home runs) meant that the idea of a mid-engined sporty economy car (or economical sports car) got a shot from the suits on the 14th floor. Sadly, the Fiero ended up being the marketplace victim of too many issues to get into here, and The General pulled the plug immediately after the 1988-model-year suspension redesign that made the Fiero the sports car it should have been all along. But what if the plastic Pontiac had never suffered from the misery of the gnashy, pokey Iron Duke engine and had been built from the start with a screaming supercharged V6 making way better than 200 horsepower? The final owner of today's Junkyard Gem sought to make that very Fiero, by dropping in one of the many supercharged 3.8-liter V6s installed in 1990s and 2000s GM factory hot rods. The first Fieros came out in 1983 for model year 1984, and the only engine available that year was the Iron Duke 2.5-liter four-cylinder, which generated its 92 horsepower with the full-throated song of a Soviet tractor stuck in the freezing mud of a Polish sugar-beet field. The 2M4 badging stood for "two seats, mid-engine, four cylinders," just as the numbers in the Oldsmobile 4-4-2 once represented "four carburetor barrels, four-speed manual transmission, dual exhaust." This car is a top-trim-level SE model, which listed for $9,599 (about $24,200 today). The no-frills Fiero cost just $7,999 that year, making these cars far cheaper than the only other reasonably affordable new mid-engined car Americans could buy at that time: the $13,990 Bertone (aka Fiat) X1/9. The Toyota MR2 appeared in North America as a 1985 model with a base price of $10,999 and promptly siphoned off the car-buying cash from a bunch of potential Fiero shoppers.
Pontiac should come back as a performance division for GM
Thu, Apr 6 2017For decades the Pontiac brand was known as GM's performance brand. From the 1964 Pontiac GTO, to the 1967 Firebird, to the 1984 Fiero, to the 2006 Solstice Turbo, and 2009 G8 GXP, Pontiac had a reputation for building exciting cars, with bold styling and performance to back it up. When the Camaro was killed off in 2002, the Pontiac Firebird died off with it, and the last Pontiacs were built in early 2010. But with names like G3, G4, and G6, Pontiac's performance image had long faded from it's earlier glory days. My idea for Pontiac's revival would be to bring it back as a dedicated performance marque similar to Chevy's Super Sport (SS) line up of years past. First, and most obvious would be to bring back the Pontiac Firebird. Offering the entry-level model with the Camaro's 275HP turbo 4 cylinder engine, then having the Camaro SS's 455HP V8, but also offering a halo model Trans Am that is a revamped Camaro ZL-1 along with it's tire-shredding 650HP, supercharged V8 and race tuned suspension. Secondly, I would bring back the GTO. Which I would base on the current Chevy SS, but I would use the full 455-horsepower LS4 V8 (rather than the 415-hp setup that it has now). Furthermore, I would add the impressive 650-hp supercharged V8 to provide real competition to the Charger Hellcat. Importantly, I would make sure that the new GTO had bold, distinctive styling that really set it apart. I understand that purists would want any Pontiac GTO to be a two-door coupe, but I think that they could forgive that if the new GTO was an outstanding American performance car. Next, I would take the Buick Cascada convertible, add much bolder styling, swap in the Camaro's 275-hp turbo engine, and tune up the suspension to provide more performance than luxury (without being harsh). And finally I would round out the line up by using the new 2018 Traverse , but use the new, bold Pontiac design language to spice up the model's looks, tweak the engines for more power, and again provide a performance suspension that matches the model's new sporty looks. Obviously, having a high performance Pontiac model line up would steal away some sales from Chevy, Buick, and Cadillac models. But I think that it would more than make up for this by also stealing away sales from competing brands. No donation or payment necessary to enter or win this sweepstakes. See official rules on Omaze. Normally when we write about Omaze sweepstakes, they involve a car that you'd never go out and buy on your own. A six-figure camper van build, a $300,000 Ford Bronco restoration, a Land Rover Defender that's so beautiful it should be in a museum. Today's prize might beat out all of those, because not only could you win a dream car, you'll be entered for a chance to win $100k cash to go along with it. There are a lot of cars you can buy with $100k. You could buy a Land Cruiser Heritage Edition or a Mustang GT500 or 6 Chevy Sparks and start your own racing series. Personally, if I won that kind of dough, assuming I also won this Bentley Bentayga, my favorite of Omaze's current offerings, I'd probably use some of it to buy something quirky, like a Honda Element converted into a pop-top camper, or a restored/upgraded 60 series Land Cruiser. Think that's a terrible way to spend the cash? That's the beauty of it. It is completely up to you. No one can tell you what to do with it.
